Great but the author can't write interactions or characters. Whenever the cast has to talk with each other the author usually writes some bullshit making them do something else so he doesn't have to write dialogue.

The only character who's truly consistent and has a personality throughout the story is Effie, all the other characters have been inconsistent or be randomly forgotten, or simply very bland.

I love this novel as it is my first one I read and I can't get enough of it.

Really love the power system and how unique the story is written

Best novel I ever read and I've read plenty (or began reading plenty). Compared to other novels, not even 1 chapter here feels like it's a chapter meant only for having more chapters in total, filled with repetitive boring stuff.

One of the greatest work of fiction i've seen. Shadow slave starts off from first chapter and first nightmare it's awesome. The first nightmare shows glimpses of how great this world building is and what type of character sunny is dialogues are heavy and impactful and that's just first nightmare like 25 chapters if i remembered right. It has so good world building two world even. Shadow slave have pretty different type of style sometimes they go to long on explaining stuff at starts when you are not used to it it might get a little boring but when you starts to understand the world building better every lore starts hitting deep. Character are so good power scalling is one of the best with nightmares godly arc. It even has romance no harem too. I'm on 2300 just completed volume 9 and i have no doubt this is gonna keep getting better. It's update are regular too 2 chapters a day. Even if you feel like dropping just remember force it through volume 1 volume 2 is like godly arc. Im not saying it start boring it's just it has many info dump which at starts can be a little overbearing but as you get used to it you can feel like sunny's love for exploration.

I picked up Shadow Slave cuz my friend recommended it to me, ended up binge-reading it in a few weeks.

The pacing is perfect, the world feels alive, and the character development is top-notch.

Sunny’s journey is one of the most engaging I’ve read in a long time.

Easily one of my favorite web novels.

Fell off after the Antarctica arc which was peak. Now, the pacing feels off and the hyped up fights are short. Didn't really like where story was heading so this is where I leave.

Some people here are intentionally hating this novel without even knowing what they are talking about. This novel is a masterpiece and strong contender for the top position. I dare put it in the same league as LOTM and RI and also warn everyone about not getting fooled by all those who oh so coincidentally all are giving 0.5 rating. Read it and i assure you won't regret it

Shadow Slave is top-tier dark fantasy. The world is incredibly detailed, dangerous, and full of mystery. The story follows Sunny, a clever and resourceful main character who starts at the very bottom but slowly climbs his way up in a brutal, dream-like world filled with monsters, ancient secrets, and powerful enemies.

Every arc is intense—whether it's about survival, trust, or power—and the tension never really lets up. If you enjoy smart protagonists, deep lore, and a world that feels truly alive (and deadly), Shadow Slave is a must-read.
