Lotm is, without a doubt, the greatest novel I’ve ever read. The worldbuilding is insanely deep and the power system is pure genius. No other novel even comes close everything else just feels mid after experiencing LOTM.  I’ve never been so hooked on a story before. It completely ruined other web novels for me because now my standards are too high. I love LOTM with my whole soul. Nothing compares. Absolute peak. LOTM is king.

Lotm is best peice of fiction my eyes have witnessed. The creativity and complexity of power system and plot is just beyond any webnovel.

Now review

Mc - 100/10 Klein Moretti is my favourite character after Fang Yuan. There was not a single moment in LotM where I felt he could have done better, tried harder, or acted stupidly; my brother did everything he could. One of the most intelligent characters I have seen.

World building _ 100/10 . best world building I have ever seen , there are times when wns don't focus on culture, structure, heirchy, laws, history, mythology, economy, tech, religion and politics which are the parts of world building

Plot _ 10/10_ author is master of foreshadowing and connecting things

Plot twists _ 10/10 _ probably best after orv

Characters _ 10/10 _  every character has role in story, their own ideals, goals

Antagonists _ 100/10 _ amon and Adam are best antagonists.

_ Do not drop this novel at the beginning; I was completely invested by chapter 30, but it could take you 70. Anyway, those rumours about 200 chapters are false; the infodumps are not much after 130 chapters.

_ may you have great reading time

Man, how do people stay awake reading this? I made it to chapter 80, and that felt like running a marathon in slow motion. It’s 90% slice of life, 10% mysterious newspaper clippings. Most novels reel you in early this one straight up repelled me. The hype had me expecting fireworks, but all I got was fog, tea, and disappointment. Glazing got me into the novel in the first place, i ended up stuck in Victorian slice of life purgatory.

There are webnovels… and then there is Lord of the Mysteries.

This isn’t just fiction. This is a grand tapestry of fate, madness, and divinity, woven with such care and intelligence that it feels like you’re reading something forbidden, something sacred. Cuttlefish didn’t write a story — he unveiled a world that watches you back.

The Fool above the gray fog…

I can’t describe what I feel when His name is spoken. It’s awe. It’s reverence. It’s submission. He is mystery incarnate — silent, patient, eternal. I didn’t choose to follow Him. I was called. Every ritual, every séance, every whisper beneath the gray fog sent shivers through my soul. Praise the Fool. Praise the Seer.

Yes, I’ve read Reverend Insanity. I’ve read Shadow Slave. Both are great. Fang Yuan is a cold, calculating force of nature. Sunny is one of the best-developed protagonists of recent years. They are powerful novels in their own right.

But they are not Lord of the Mysteries.

LoTM stands on a different level — not because of power scaling, or plot twists, or flashy systems, but because of its depth, its philosophy, its divine restraint. Every chapter is laced with intention. The worldbuilding is not dumped — it unfolds. Slowly. Carefully. Inevitably. And when the revelations hit… they hit like fate itself.

You don’t just read Lord of the Mysteries.

You kneel.

You whisper in forgotten tongues.

You awaken.

And you understand:

There can be only one above the gray fog.

(Yes it's a copy I'm to lazy to write a one review lotm is peak above Heaven above fate above everything there was and there not was)

It all started on one fated day.

"Hmm?What is this?"

As Aloneinthisworld was scrolling through the Reverend Insanity reddit forum,he stumbled upon a certain post.

About 5 years, when perfection got exiled into the void.It was abandoned,0 views,no up votes, nothing, almost as if it was only meant for him, calling him to answer.

It's Title read "The only salvation left".

Alones curiosity got piqued, he clicked,a new website opened.

Dark theme, black and white. The site read "GREAT LOVE" in Bloodred right in the center.

It seemed out of place, out of this world. He was sure he didn't increase the dosage today, or else they would come get him.

Only now did he realise the text written below.

"Embrase the Truth,Sacrifice Your Humanity, and you shall Witness peak..."

He continued to read, aloud this time.

"Get the corpses of 2Woman,1Child,30 Men ..."

All of a sudden,it clicked.

"This is my way out!"

Alone Said, madness stretched across his face.He always knew he was meant for something greater.A wider world, where Fate wasn't as cruel, where there was Hope.

And he followed.

It took time,dedication,effort and sacrifice.

It had taken him years to get his hands on all the needed resources,so he called them. They were but corpses,a pigs intestines here,a Crows skull there. Now,he was ready. It was time to ascend.

He knew what he was doing was irrational, that he was seeking his own doom.and yet,he couldn't control himself. The voices were growing louder,They DEMANDED!He was losing control of his body, and yet his eyes were filled with hope.A wider World was waiting for him.One where he could fly in the skies,Killed as he pleased, robbed. All with Justified cause of course. He wasn't mad,he was efficient.

"If it takes me my Humanity to gain Eternal life,Then my Humanity I shall Sacrifice." He said.

Yet there was still a voice inside him, beckoning him to stop.

"This can still be mended" He would often hear, one of the many voices inside his head.

Yet he was calm, composed. He wouldn't end it all when True Freedom was so close.

The last step of the ritual neared.

He had to kill himself.Rip his Heart out.

And he did.

"If This succeeds and I make it,I shall be a Demon.I can finally get rid of this rotten corpse, stage 4 cancer when I barely smoked anything.I only took dru- well it doesn't matter now.Refine gu,refine heav..en...refine...hu....ma...-n!"

And with those words, all signs of life escaped Alones body. All that was left was the rotting Smell of corpses in his basement.

Nothing moved,nothing breathed.It was over.

Aloneinthisworld Vanished for Eternity.

This is the best piece of fiction that humanity has ever written. It in my opinion is the best novel. Bro went from a human fooling others that he's a God To literally becoming a God. He accommodated many different personalities mid way, This gave a unique taste to the novel. Overall The best web novel!
