Reverend Insanity is honestly one of the most unique web novels I’ve ever read. It doesn’t follow the usual tropes — in fact, it kind of flips everything upside down. The main character is cold, smart, and completely unapologetic, which makes the story feel fresh and unpredictable. The world is well thought out, and the writing keeps pulling you in. It’s definitely not for everyone, but if you’re into dark, strategic stories that make you think, this one’s worth checking out.
Reverend Insanity is pure brilliance easily one of the most intelligent and well-crafted webnovels out there. The protagonist, Fang Yuan, is a cold-blooded mastermind who plays the long game like no other. Every move he makes feels earned, every victory comes through strategy, not luck or plot armor. The world is deep, unforgiving, and morally gray, with a cultivation system that’s both unique and logical. There’s no spoon-feeding or cringe romance, just raw ambition and philosophical depth. It challenges the reader and respects your intelligence. If you’re tired of generic MCs and recycled tropes, RI is the antidote. Absolutely elite.
Reverend Insanity is a weird one. The main character, Fang Yuan, is basically a soulless calculator. No emotion, no guilt, nothing remotely human. He just wants power and will throw anyone under the bus to get it. At first it feels “different,” but after a while, the one-note personality just gets exhausting. Yeah, the world-building is solid, I’ll give it that. But the pacing drags, buried in endless strategy talk that kills any real momentum. And Fang Yuan never changes. Like, ever. No growth, no conflict, just cold logic from start to finish. People call it 'realistic,'but honestly, it just feels hollow. You finish a chapter and go, “What am I even doing?” And if you’re still hyping this thing up, you’re either way too into edgy characters, or just pretending to like it because the internet says it’s cool. No other way around it. ┐(´ー`)┌
I didn’t read Cursed Reverend Insanity. I survived it.
This wasn’t a story. It was a 2k chapter long humiliation ritual dressed in femboy stockings and covered with shame. I came for cultivation. I stayed because every exit was sealed with a Rank 6 Consent Gu
I used to be just like non RI readers.. clueless about the world.. but then i read about him! THE him! Not the brilliant, cold-blooded villain of legend. No
Peg Yuan
thhe man who fell into the wrong sect, tok one too many "healing sessions," and awakened the Dao of Submission while crying into a spirit activated body pillow. every chapter, I hoped it would get better. It didn’t
Instead, I was force fed yaoi formation techniques, forced into sparkly duels over limited edition moaning plushies, and somehow, somehow.., I achieved enlightenment through public spiritual pegging. They called me the Reluctant Bottom God. I told them to stop. They promoted me
And the worst part? It made sense. The cultivation systems were.. perfect for lil ol me Peg Yuan, The shame based power scaling was flawless. I unlocked my true potential by weaponizing secondhand embarrassment and dual cultivating with trauma
I watched myself, naked in spirit and robe, take down entire sects using only my Dao of Humiliation and a whip sword named “Blushfang.” It moaned when unsheathed, and heh... so did i!
by the time I reached the final arc “Peg Yuan vs The Fate of Straightness” I had already lost everything. mmy pride. my purity. my ability to sit comfortably
but I won. And the Sect Leader Body Pillow… was warm!
So what is Reverend Insanity? It’s brilliant and t’s yaoi coded, Rank 9 masochist gu, itll ruin you.. but youll like it anyway..!
Ri is peak! Peg yuan for life!
Those who don't like this novel are stupid people with undeveloped brains who believe in humanity, love, the power of friendship, civilization, justice and so on🤣🤣🤣
They just like to see a few girls flirting with a boy. They don't like to face the truth of the world and reality; so if you see or hear negative comments, it's all nonsense and nonsense, this is a realistic and very mature novel. After reading it, it will definitely develop the minds of thinking people. In this novel, women die, which is the biggest reason for the hostility of stupid feminists, but it is the truth that women also die, unlike other novels that suppress and hide this issue, so if you want to know why this novel has so many opponents and why it was banned in a dictatorial country, it is because it said one thing: the truth, this novel is for awake people, not ostriches who want to wallow in their stupidity and believe that the world will not see them either, the opponents of this novel are sheep But they are reluctant to admit it. They are the same people who, if they were in ancient times, would not have been able to leave the mother's womb due to their weakness, and now they are dogmatic slaves to capitalists.
this master piece was banned . this was the harshness of reaility but also the beauty of fate truly the best thing . .
Reverend Insanity is a wild ride! The story’s dark and unpredictable, with complex characters that keep you hooked. The world-building is unique, and the MC’s cunning makes it addictive. Not your typical hero, but that’s what makes it so refreshing and fun to read!
Reverend Insanity is a dark, gripping tale with complex characters and unpredictable twists. Its unique world-building keeps readers hooked nonstop!
Reverend Insanity is a dark, brilliant masterpiece with deep world-building, ruthless logic, and a cunning MC. A bold, unforgettable cultivation epic!
As someone below said fang yuan is best character in the fiction, or atleast The fiction I know .
This is probably best novel I have read with lord of the mysteries.
World building _ 10/10
Plot _ 10/10
Mc _ 100/10
Antagonists _ 10/10
Side characters _ 10/10
Legends of ren zu _ 100/10
This novel has some of the best arcs and moments I have seen, volume 5 was straight up peak fiction. The only problem I had was pacing, some arcs feel slow as f*ck, though they are built up ones so get through them somehow
.
My advice
Don't drop ri at Northern plains or zombie arc
Be open minded, mc is evil and very Evil at that. Read with the mindset of slow burn, don't go expecting non stop action. You will be dissapointed.
That's all, may you have great time!
