Chapter 61: Haa... this would mean, I died.
Julian couldn’t help but trace her back, his fingers traced the new tattoo on her back. In place of the scattered teardrops was a large drop that formed ripples like the slow motion of a water drop.
It felt life-like, with black shifting to ocean blue.
’’Didn’t we see black teardrops scattered on her back?’’ Julian asked out loud, his expression a mix of wonder and uncertainty.
Ethan felt she couldn’t have done another tattoo—she hadn’t left their sight except for the dungeon testing ground. He carried her out of the water, wrapping her hair with a towel.
Their hearts were In turmoil, and their eyes couldn’t tear themselves from her back. They never doubted their memories—every inch of her was etched in their minds. They could only wait for her to wake up and relieve their doubts.
Julian dried her hair gently while Ethan put on his shirt on her; they were so careful in their actions that Eva slept through the process.
Time passed, and the food grew cold. Blaine climbed the stairs to check on his masters, the foul smell growing stronger with each step.
He changed directions and stopped in front of Miss Eva’s door, baffled. ’What’s Miss Eva doing in there? Why does it reek so badly?’
He knocked but no one answered, and could only hold his breath and come later. Turning to Julian’s quarters, he knocked on the door, but there was no response, so he went to Ethan’s room.
Inside the room, three figures occupied the bed; Ethan mentally sorted out his space while Julian played with Eva’s hair as he stared at the ceiling.
’’knock.’’
This sound sliced through the quiet room, Ethan quickly went to answer so the sound wouldn’t wake Eva. Opening the door, his gaze met Blaine’s raised hand. ’’Master, should I serve your breakfast in your room?’’ Blaine asked.
At his words, Ethan remembered they had left their breakfast untouched but he had no appetite. He turned his head into the room, but before he could ask, Julian shook his head. ’’Pack the food, we’ll let you know when we want to eat,’’ Ethan instructed and closed the door after receiving Blaine’s response.
Blaine didn’t bother searching for Julian and headed downstairs, though the smell still bothered him. Ethan was about to climb the bed when he remembered something. Turning to the door, he opened it and quietly shut it after him.
Walking towards Eva’s room, he opened the door and walked in. The smell was still as strong as before; without wasting much time, he froze the black liquid into blocks of ice. Picking them up, he placed it into his space to dispose of it later. He opened her window to remove the remaining smell—satisfied, he shut the window and left the room.
Meanwhile, Blaine packed the last plate when a knock came from the gate, he paused and dropped the plate before heading to the door. Opening the door, he frowned but quickly covered it with an expressionless face when he faced Selina.
Selina ignored his cold-faced expression and tried to peek into the house for signs of Eva or the lords. ’’Miss—’’
’’Please, can you let me see Eva? It’s important.’’ This time she wasn’t pretending but needed Eva’s powers on something. She couldn’t believe the news about the pillar challenge.
None of this happened in her past life making her feel apprehensive and insecure. Now, she needs those men more than ever, and to do that, she has to take Eva out of the picture.
Blaine stared at her serious expression, ’’I’ll go inform my masters.’’ He shut the door in her face, denying her entry. Selina rubbed her nose in fear, the door had nearly slammed her. ’The nerve of this servant.’ She cursed inwardly.
Ethan came out of the bathroom, his body still wet as he moved towards his wardrobe. ’’knock.’’ He frowned, his eyes moving towards the bed, and was relieved to see her eyes closed. Julian left the bed and opened the door, his cold grey eyes made Blaine pause and hold his breath instinctively, sensing Julian’s bad mood.
’’What is it? Speak quietly.’’ Julian warned as he stared at Blaine. ’’Master the lady that came yesterday is here again. She wants to see Miss—’’
’’It’s Madam. Change how you address our wife.’’ Julian interrupted, his lips curling slightly.
Blaine stood shocked at the news, ’when did they marry?’ Noticing Blaine’s confusion, Julian realized the staff were unaware of their marriage.
’’We got our marriage certificate yesterday. Inform all the staff.’’ Julian said and motioned for Blaine to leave, forgetting Selina.
Blaine was so dumbstruck by the news that he almost forgot his purpose of knocking. ’’Erm...Master, the woman waiting outside?’’
’’Send her away, don’t ever let her into the house,’’ Julian responded with a frown at being reminded of that woman.
He didn’t know why Eva had a big reaction to that woman’s presence, but since Eva didn’t want to be around her, she wasn’t allowed anywhere close to his wife.
He closed the door In time to see Eva stirring. He quickly walked to the bed, Ethan was already by the bedside.
Eva felt her body soaked in warmth, ’’Haa... this would mean, I died.’’ She muttered sadly as she opened her eyes. Meeting blue and grey eyes she burst into tears as she hugged them tightly.
Julian and Ethan were stunned by her outburst and the gibberish leaving her lips.
’’woo hoo, Book God, why did you take me before my time?! Now I’ve to leave the sexy men to another woman.’’ Her tears fell faster at the thought and the tattoo on her back glowed with her outburst.
Before Julian could pat her awake, they were dumbfounded by the mini rain cloud that suddenly appeared in the room.
As Eva cried, heavy showers of rain burst through. They felt their minds were playing tricks on them, but the wet ground told them otherwise.
’’Did you get a new power?’’ Ethan asked, the only explanation he could give for this situation.
Eva was lost in her grief of her supposed death and didn’t hear his words. To her, that pain she felt had surely killed her; there was no way she would wake up feeling warm and light. ’But why are they with her in the afterlife, or was God giving her the chance to see them one last time?’
Her tears Increased, as she threatened through a choked voice. ’If you marry another woman after my death... I will hunt you in your sleep, you – ’’
Ethan couldn’t stand her ramblings and kissed her to shut her up. ’(☉。☉)! Can they see my ghostly form?!’
