Chapter 60: I will peel you off if I have to
"Wife, you said you were immune to my charm. Go on." Ethan’s husky voice made sleep clear from Julian’s eyes and a smirk formed on his lips.
"Wife. Ehn... That sounds perfect." Julian drawled and removed his covers, fully bare as he walked towards her.
She felt warmth under her nose and touched it, only to see blood on her fingers. ’Nosebleed?!’
"Ahh! (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)⁄ unfair!’’ Eva screamed and dashed out of the room, unable to take it anymore.
"Hahaha..." Their laughter followed after her fleeing form. Her face so red it looked like you could squeeze the blood out.
Reaching her room, she quickly dashed to the bathroom and poured water over her face.
Water streaked down her face, waking her up, she facepalmed. "Curse their sexy genes! You need to fight against such charm—"
The flashes of black fabric sliding down their muscular, pale form filled her mind, and her words trailed off.
( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°), (*´﹃`*) A perverted smile changed to drool as she pictured her hands running over their skin. Giggles escaped her lips, but she froze when she accidentally caught her hopeless reflection in the mirror.
She covered her face, ashamed to see her expression in the mirror. "Haa... hopeless. It’s not my fault, blame them for being so good-looking."
"But they don’t have to know I’m hopeless against their body or they’ll use it against me. What to do...’’ she muttered, pacing her room with her fingers twisting the edges of her hair.
After a minute of walking back and forth, her mind remained blank. She ruffled her hair in frustration before deciding to bathe. ’Maybe ideas will come to me.’
Removing her clothes, she tied her hair up and walked past her mirror, but quickly retraced her steps.
Her brows furrowed as she recalled images of black dots. Moving closer to the mirror, she arched her back and her eyes bulged in shock when she saw the teardrop tattoos scattered across her back.
Unable to believe what she was seeing, her hands moved across her back. Tracing the tattoos her hands could reach, ’’(~_~;) I’m sick! ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ I’m I going to be covered with it? My beauty! No, no...’’ Eva dashed to the bathroom, taking out a bath towel, she soaked it and scrubbed her back.
Her arms went numb from stretching, but she kept scrubbing until her back turned red.
When it didn’t come off, she burst into tears, shuddering at the thought of the tattoo spreading to her face.
Her hands held her face in horror, ’first, it was the morning weakness, now an unknown tattoo appeared on my skin. Is this body defective?!’
’’Potions would cure it right?!’’ her voice shaking with uncertainty. She took deep breaths and took out the healing potion from her space ring.
Without much hesitation, she downed the liquid with her eyes closed. ’please work!’ she peeked fearfully at the mirror but the tattoos remained the same.
Her shoulders slumped but her eyes lit up when she remembered something.
Her eyes and hair glowed as wisps of green energy gathered around her, following steadily into her body.
Satisfied with the energy she absorbed—taking deep breaths, she opened her eyes slowly but the image remained the same.
Her face dropped, and her expression darkened. "I will peel you off if I have to. You won’t ruin this body for me!" Her voice turned cold, and the images of her former rotting body and hair loss hardened her resolve.
She walked to the door and turned the keys, sounds of lock echoing into the room. Picking out a clean clothes she bit down on it before removing her dagger from her ring.
It’s gonna hurt!’ but her movement didn’t stop. Wrapping the dagger with a green glow, she moved closer to her skin, the tip of the dagger touched her skin when the tattoos reacted. The one at her wrist went straight into her crystal.
This time, it didn’t absorb her powers but started merging with her crystal. Eva’s hands trembled, and the dagger fell to the ground with a clang; her vision blurred as she collapsed face-down on the fur-covered floor.
Minutes passed, and a scream left her lips, she curled into herself, her hands scratching at her chest to stop the pain. The other teardrops at her back all moved towards her crystal and her heart felt like a knife was slicing through it.
Her body burned as black liquid seeped from her pores, tears streaking down her face. Muffled screams left her, and her nails tore into her chest, leaving fresh bleeding lines
’Pain, make it stop.’ Her consciousness flickered in and out, but the pain persisted until the final tattoo merged into her.
She lay in the black liquid for thirty minutes, her body twitching with excruciating pain. She had no strength left to move or scream as the pain wracked her body. The rancid stench filled the room.
’’Don’t you think she’s taking too long?’’ Julian asked as his gaze moved toward the stairs, hoping to see her figure. Ethan looked at the breakfast spread out and frowned, ’ she’s never late when it comes to food.’ Which is very strange.
Their chair scraped the ground as they rose in unison, exchanging glances before moving toward the stairs.
’’Is she hiding away with her stash of meat again? That won’t do...’’ Julian muttered to himself, a mischievous grin tugging at his lips until the smell hit him.
Their eyes watered. Julian held his nose, wondering what kind of cleaning staff Blaine employed.
But as they moved towards Eva’s room, the smells grew worse.
Their expressions changed, and Ethan went for the door; he turned the knob only to find out it was locked. They know how much Eva loved being clean, there was no way she would stay with such a rancid smell.
Ethan narrowed his eyes and froze the door. Julian followed by kicking it open, the ice shattering as it hit the ground.
Rushing in, their gaze fell on Eva’s twitching form and black liquid soaking her body.
Ethan’s heart clenched as he gently picked her up, feeling her trembling body in his arms, while Julian’s cold gaze scanned the room for any signs of an intruder.
’’There’s no signs of attack.’’ His tone held confusion, and he removed her stained hair from her face.
’’let’s leave here first, bring out those healing potions.’’ Ethan’s pace increased, the black liquid soaking his body but he wasn’t bothered by it.
Julian teleported to Ethan’s room, prepared the bath, and retrieved a higher-grade healing potion from his ring.
He took deep breaths to steady his emotions, his knuckles turning red from the effort of holding back.
Ethan walked in, placing Eva gently into the water, the air around him cold that the ice formed on the ground. When he saw her shiver slightly, the cold around him retracted.
Julian fed her the potion, but she showed no signs of waking up. Her pale face had a bit of colour.
And their hanging hearts dropped. Ethan bathed her, Julian changed the water five times before the stench left her body.
Their gaze held disbelief when they finally noticed her back, stunned in place by what they saw.
