Yugioh Card Summoner -
CH.638 Number Hunters
Alright. Continuing on from where I left off last time. Which means more packs!
10 packs of Number Hunters to be specific.
I’m expecting some Number cards. Maybe enough to get me to the next ability of the Numeron Code. … okay, probably not, but I can dream.
Spoiler
NUMH 1
Kagetokage; Chronomaly Cabrera Trebuchet; Number 87: Queen of the Night; Rocket Arrow Express; CXyz Simon the Great Moral Leader
[collapse]
Kagetokage is pretty nice, but I already had it from Photon Shockwave.
Chronomaly Cabrera Trebuchet sucks, because Chronomaly have a rank 4 that does the same but better.
Number 87: Queen of the Night looks amazing. … but sadly she isn’t that good.
Rocket Arrow Express I already had.
And CXyz Simon the Great Moral Leader negates monster effects. Though I don’t have the og version of the monster, it probably is in this set.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 2
Heraldry Record; Overlay Capture; Chronomaly Cabrera Trebuchet; Gimmick Puppet Twilight Joker; Heroic Challenger - Ambush Soldier
[collapse]
Heraldry Record negates the effects of Xyz monsters that activate by detaching an overlay unit. But I’ll never face any, so I’ll never use it.
Overlay Capture is the same. I have to be facing an Xyz monster for it to do anything.
Gimmick Puppet Twilight Joker is kind of meh. It specials itself when a Gimmick Puppet is destroyed by battle. But it really doesn’t have the stats for that kind of effect.
And Heroic Challenger - Ambush Soldier sucks. Sure it does a lot, but having this thing on your field during your standby phase… good luck.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 3
Gimmick Puppet Twilight Joker; Heroic Challenger - Clasp Sword; Gogogo Giant; Night Papilloperative; Number 57: Tri-Head Dust Dragon
[collapse]
Heroic Challenger - Clasp Sword does search for Heroic Challenger monsters. But it has to be special summoned by the effect of a Heroic Challenger monster for that.
Gogogo Giant I already had.
Night Papilloperative can gain some really nice attack with the correct field setup.
And Number 57: Tri-Head Dust is cool. Kind of like an early RaidRaptor - Rise Falcon. And the Ojama effect can also be useful. Limiting where monsters can go is quite useful.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 4
Blue Mountain Butterspy; Baby Tiragon; Chronomaly Cabrera Trebuchet; Butterspy Protection; CXyz Coach Lord Ultimatrainer
[collapse]
Blue Mountain Butterspy is a free summon when you summon another Warrior monster.
Baby Tiragon I already had.
Butterspy Protection sucks for TCG use, but I could probably use it for some things.
And CXyz Coach Lord Ultimatrainer is pretty nice. Draw power and burn all in one.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 5
Gimmick Puppet Scissor Arms; CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral; Gogogo Golem; Gash the Dust Lord; Number 49: Fortune Tune
[collapse]
Gimmick Puppet Scissor Arms is fine enough, dumping a Gimmick Puppet on summon.
CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral isn’t all that good. Sure it changes the battle position of a monster on summon, but the detach effect is pretty bad. 1000 burn damage, but only after inflicting battle damage on a monster you have to summon with a Rank-Up-Magic.
Gogogo Golem I already had.
Gash the Dust Lord is terrible.
And Number 49: Fortune Tune is basically just a mediocre stall engine. It heals you during your standby phases, protects itself from destruction, and when destroyed, shuffles itself and two level 3 monsters back to the decks. It really should have given at least a draw 1 on top of that, but whatever.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 6
Baby Tiragon; Gogogo Golem; Gagaga Gardna; Chronomaly Mud Golem; Princess Cologne
[collapse]
Gagaga Gardna I already had.
Chronomaly Mud Golem gives Chronomaly monsters piercing. They don’t particularly need that, but it is still appreciated.
Princess Cologne is pretty good. Not only does it protect itself quite well, it can also summon out any Normal monster from the deck. Yeah. It is one of those cards. Though I honestly don’t think I’ll get any broken normal monsters with it, as they are normal monsters.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 7
Chronomaly Sol Monolith; Overlay Capture; Heraldry Record; Chakra; CXyz Comics Hero Legend Arthur
[collapse]
Chronomaly Sol Monolith is decent. It makes a good combo with a different Chronomaly monster that leads to a Rank 6 Chronomaly.
Chakra I already had, got it from the Ritual challenge. But interesting that it was printed this late in the TCG.
And CXyz Comics Hero Legend Arthur is actually pretty nice. Sure it has a battle effect, but banishing the monster it just destroyed, and burning for that monster’s attack is pretty nice.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 8
Unformed Void; Gimmick Puppet Nightmare; Chronomaly Mud Golem; Heraldry Record; Number 44: Sky Pegasus
[collapse]
Unformed Void is cool, but useless for me. You know me, I like big numbers and Unformed Void is great at that.
Gimmick Puppet Nightmare is fine, but it needs the setup and generally isn’t worth it. [Note: I know it is banned but Brian wouldn’t know it yet. He also wouldn’t know the OTK/FTK that caused it to get banned.]
And Number 44: Sky Pegasus is one of the worst Xyz monsters ever made. 1800 attack on a Rank 4 is already terrible, but the effect is even worse. Detach a material to target and destroy a monster, but if your opponent doesn’t want that, they can just take 1000 burn instead. Maybe if this thing had 2800 attack, but it doesn’t.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 9
Chronomaly Mud Golem; CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral; Gimmick Puppet Egg Head; Gogogo Golem; Comics Hero King Arthur
[collapse]
Gimmick Puppet Egg Head is pretty bad, even for Gimmick Puppets.
Comics Hero King Arthur on the other hand is quite nice. Sadly it only protects itself from battle destruction. It would be much better if it was any sort of destruction.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 10
Chronomaly Aztec Mask Golem; Gimmick Puppet Gear Changer; Night Papilloperative; Butterspy Protection; Number 44: Sky Pegasus
[collapse]
Chronomaly Aztec Mask Golem specials itself.
And Gimmick Puppet Gear Changer had some potential. … until it was killed because you can’t Machine Duplicate Gear Changers. You can’t One for One it either. Now it is just a very mediocre normal summon.
Now, I know that was ten packs. But I think I’ll do another ten. These packs have some really cool cards, so I kind of want to try to pull a few more. I also need a few more of the non-ranked up versions of the CXyz monsters.
So ten more, let’s go!
Spoiler
NUMH 11
Gimmick Puppet Egg Head; Gimmick Puppet Twilight Joker; Rocket Arrow Express; Heraldry Record; Coach King Giantrainer
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
NUMH 12
Photon Lizard; Kurivolt; Unformed Void; Number 85: Crazy Box; Number Wall
[collapse]
Photon Lizard I already had, but it is new from the set.
Kurivolt is the same.
Number 85: Crazy Box is actually new. And it is a fun RNG box. Though I probably won’t use it just because of how random it can be.
And Number Wall is pretty busted. With it, my Number monsters basically gain their anime effect of only being able to be destroyed by other Number monsters. And no one has Number monsters except me.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 13
Puppet Ritual; Heroic Challenger - Clasp Sword; Zombowwow; Photon Lizard; Number 57: Tri-Head Dust Dragon
[collapse]
Puppet Ritual specials two level 8 Gimmick Puppets from the GY. Sure the condition is a bit of a pain, but I can probably deal with it.
And Zombowwow can summon out Level 1 monster with 0 attack and defense. Don’t know what all falls under that, but I might check it at some point.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 14
Gagaga Gardna; Number 85: Crazy Box; Chronomaly Aztec Mask Golem; Heroic Challenger - Clasp Sword; Coach King Giantrainer
[collapse]
Coach King Giantrainer is just ‘draw 3’. Which is great.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 15
Zombowwow; Chronomaly Aztec Mask Golem; Photon Cerberus; Unformed Void; Norito the Moral Leader
[collapse]
Norito the Moral Leader can negate Spells and Traps, which is great.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 16
Zombowwow; Zubaba Knight; Chronomaly Aztec Mask Golem; Night Papilloperative; Skypalace Gangaridai
[collapse]
Zubaba Knight I already had, but it is new from this set.
Skypalace Gangaridai on the other hand. Yeah. I have a massive airship now. Well, I already did but I have more options. And Gangaridai is called ‘Skypalace’ for a reason. I hope. And even outside of that, 3400 attack and destruction effect that burns for 1000 is really good.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 17
Rocket Arrow Express; Heroic Challenger - Clasp Sword; Unformed Void; Chronomaly Sol Monolith; Heroic Challenger - Ambush Soldier
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
NUMH 18
Unformed Void; Resurrection of Chakra; Number 63: Shamoji Soldier; Rocket Arrow Express; Number 74: Master of Blades
[collapse]
Resurrection of Chakra I already had. Ritual challenge.
Number 63: Shamoji Soldier sucks. Either give both players a draw, which isn’t even immediate, or give both players 1000 life points. At least the life point one is immediate, so you might be able to use it for some strategy.
And Number 74: Master of Blades negates cards that target it, and then on top of that destroys one other card. Pretty nice.
Next pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 19
Gimmick Puppet Twilight Joker; Kurivolt; Puppet Ritual; Butterspy Protection; CXyz Coach Lord Ultimatrainer
[collapse]
Nothing new here. Next, and last, pack.
Spoiler
NUMH 20
Gimmick Puppet Gear Changer; Night Papilloperative; Stoic Challenge; Gimmick Puppet Twilight Joker; Princess Cologne
[collapse]
Stoic Challenge is a mess. Sure the attack boost is nice, as is the double damage, but then it prevents the equipped monster from activating its effects. And then the ‘you can destroy this card’ and ‘when this card is destroyed, destroy the equipped monster’ just make this thing pretty bad, if not unusable.
I might still find a use for it but that is because I can give it the optimal situation to shine. You’d never want to use it in the TCG. … well, you probably could build a deck around it, but why would you?
But that was a nice opening. Plenty of new stuff and a bunch of new Number monsters. Let me quickly check if I got anything new from the Numeron Code with the cards I got.
As it turns out, I got to exactly 50 Number monsters with a different number. And that opened the Intangibility ability in the Numeron Code.
… and holy god was it something. I basically became a ghost when I had it active. Nothing could touch me. Not a hand, not magic, nothing. Soul Magic was the only thing that I could ‘feel’ affecting me, and even that was minor.
I could also ‘walk’ through walls as I wished, the same with the floor. That is why I said ‘walk’, as I couldn’t push myself off the ground with my intangible feet.
Now you might think that this would come with problems. Other than the walking problem I mean. But it really didn’t. I could still breathe and see, hear and smell. Sure I lost my sense of touch to anything that wasn’t me, but that isn’t a big deal. It is a bit disorientating, but I’ll learn to deal with it.
Even better was that I could stack the Intangibility with the Invisibility. Because while I had both active, I was literally undetectable. … except for Soul Magic. And even Soul Magic wasn’t 100% true, as I could protect my soul against Soul Search with my own Soul Magic, making it so that no one can actually detect me, no matter what they do.
Also, one more thing. Intangibility allowed me to walk through any sort of barriers and the like. Defensive barriers or detection barriers. And no, I didn’t set off the detection barrier. So if I want to sneak into somewhere, I can do so no matter what.
