Yours, Until Needed -
Chapter 152: Signature
Chapter 152: Signature
RINA
There was no doubt in her mind that she had long gone crazy.
Tomorrow was their opening day, and today was their last day to relax. While most businesses wouldn’t rest before such an important day, they were already confident about all the preparations they had made in advance.
And really, it wasn’t as if they were launching some IPO. It was just their resort opening.
Like her, most people were still in bed, enjoying the peaceful morning the resort could offer.
But maybe she also wasn’t like most people. Since most normal humans wouldn’t be found sleeping in the bed of another man, especially one that was a business associate and definitely not a lover.
And they probably wouldn’t be doing that on most days. To the point where she sometimes couldn’t remember what her actual bed looked like.
Rina never thought she was this gullible.
At least if she woke up in the bed of different men, then she’d be experimental and adventurous. But what would she even call herself? She’s the girl who would screech at someone’s ear in the morning only to sleep with him come night time.
Rina couldn’t believe she was facing such a predicament.
What was even more annoying was how he never even forced her into anything!
So, it was just her who was like a giant pervert!
Rina pouted as she looked at the man beside her.
Her view had been like this for months now.
While it was indeed a good view, she always felt like she’d been tricked into such a situation, and she wasn’t sure how it had continued.
Idris was very handsome, as usual. Whether he was awake or asleep, Rina had no choice but to hand it to him.
Now, most people, including her best friend, couldn’t understand what was stopping her from just pushing through with a relationship with this man.
Mind you, apparently, she did make a move. Rina talked about it as if she had no idea because she really had none.
It was one of those rare days that she got drunk in happiness. The day she found out that her best friend was pregnant. She was thrilled and decided to drink for two since Eliana wouldn’t be able to do that anymore, not that she even drank much before pregnancy.
But it was the principle of it. Then, apparently, she sent some drunk, happy photos to Eli, who realized she was alone at some bar.
And, of course, as someone accosted by my crazy cousin, there was no way she was going to be able to pick me up from the hospital, so she decided to send the next best thing (her words, not mine).
It shouldn’t be problematic, but for some unknown reason, Rina was possessed with the desire to share everything, and Idris enjoyed all the benefits, including a rousing speech about how she feels very conflicted about the man but absolutely addicted in ways that were impossible to describe.
Rina was practically singing him praises without him knowing. And even as he got her into the bath, then into fresh pajamas, she wouldn’t stop about her issues with him. And then her future plans.
All of this sounded like bullshit to Rina when Idris told her about it. He knew that, so he just made sure to record her antics for tomorrow’s reflection.
Rina watched as what possessed her tried making baby names from their names.
Even now, she could still remember the shame. Her toes would always crinkle, and her heart would beat like crazy. Then she would remember how Idris just listened and, every now and then, would input suggestions, especially when she said she wanted to live close to Eliana.
Idris even recited the properties that Lucian owned, saying that it might be one of those, so she should just choose them for future use.
That night was a rare night where they didn’t do each other. But they slept together, cuddled in each other’s arms as Rina continued to prattle on about everything that was related to Idris.
He indulged her and goaded her into talking. Rina was convincing herself that it was the case because she couldn’t imagine wanting to say all those by herself.
After watching that, Rina tried hiding from Idris, mainly visiting Eliana almost daily and risking Lucian’s ire.
It was much better than facing that level of embarrassment.
But that obviously didn’t last too long, as evidenced by the fact that she was again stark naked next to this annoying man.
In reality, she was still unsure if she had just imagined it last night.
From what she remembered, after failing to resist the man’s charms as she was annoyingly perverted again, the guy kept on asking her questions about what kind of lot she preferred.
Rina had no idea why he would ask such a thing as he pumped into her, but she was generally an obedient girl, provided her lady bits were happy and content.
Even as he told her that her choices were great and that he would follow her, Rina was so focused on him being inside her that nothing else made sense.
So, when Idris woke up in the morning only to show her his phone, Rina’s mind wasn’t exactly functioning correctly.
What he had on there was a photo of a deed of sale.
"What’s that?"
"Deed to our new lot. I’ll draw up the plans according to how you want them, and then you can just change whatever you don’t like."
"???"
Rina wasn’t sure she was hearing things right.
"What lot? And what plans?"
"Our new lot?"
"Why would we have a lot? And who was this Mrs. Ainsworth?"
Idris pouted before saying, "Honey, you wound me. How could you forget about your husband that easily? I forgave you when you forgot about your confession, but how could you forget about this again?"
He even sighed for good measure.
Because she really had a history of doing precisely that, she paused before retorting. But she couldn’t be that dumb, right? To forget about marrying someone???
"That’s impossible," Rina said with a shaky voice because she wasn’t even sure anymore.
"I knew you would say that, so I made sure to have a copy and photo of it."
There it really was, a marriage license and the matching marriage contract with her signature on it.
"How? I never signed such a thing? Was this forged?"
"Woah. Of course not! I even had you review it!"
"You never told me to review—"
Wait a minute.
There was that one time.
Rina tried recalling the time she had to sign the handover documents that came from this man’s office.
Before, she was meticulous in checking, but after she realized he’d never made mistakes, even minor corrections, Rina would always just sign the documents when she was in such a hurry.
She was really hurrying, all right. That was the day they caught the criminals, and she had to support her best friend.
So, she breezed through everything.
And signed all the documents.
Without reading.
Her world spun for a moment because when nighttime came, Idris asked her again if she was sure about the documents so he could finalize them. There couldn’t be any more takebacks.
She confirmed it with her own mouth.
*Gasp!*
"You didn’t?!"
"I did, and I was cordial in giving you the choice, too. I even asked twice for confirmation."
"Idris!" I swatted him with the nearest pillow, not knowing how to react appropriately.
"Honey, your husband is a man of action. If you order me to do something, I will follow through, especially if it’ll make you happy." Idris smirked at her, and she could see the evident glint in his eyes.
"Who ordered you to do what?!" Rina roared, only for Idris to respond.
"Honey, kindly revert to video one. The timestamp is at 1:58:32." He dodged while reminding her of her own dark history.
That day, around the resort, there was a famous anecdote about a wife running after her accidental husband.
And while she could never catch up, she’d manage to hit him with her flying slipper.
