Young Noble Be Monster Slaying -
Chapter 963: Really Fast (II)
The two fierce women launched into a second round of battle. The Whale-Riding Immortal tried to step in and stop them.
However, they both shouted at him at the same time, “Get lost!”
Only then did he back away, looking sulky and defeated.
When women from the Mount Shu Sect fought, no man had the right to interfere. Even Venerable Wen Yuan was nowhere to be seen. It seemed that no one dared to step in.
In the end, a streak of sword qi shot into the sky. It was Daoist Yan who had interfered and finally put a stop to the fight.
She cast a cool glance at Bai Yuxian, then grabbed Di Nufeng and said, “Let’s go.”
“Yan Zi…” Di Nufeng blinked, as if she wanted to say something. But before she could get a word out, Daoist Yan pulled her away without hesitation.
“Phew.” The Whale-Riding Immortal let out a long breath. “Good thing Yan Zi can still keep her in check. Ah Feng at the eighth realm is truly terrifying.”
Lin Bei, who had been watching the whole time, said with a nod, “Yeah… Ever since Senior Aunt Feng broke through to the eighth realm, I haven’t seen my teacher at all. Who knows where he’s hiding? And it’s not just him. The Alchemy Master, Conservation Master, Weapons Master… all the male elders are now too scared to go anywhere alone.”
Chu Liang looked up at the sky and sensed a mournful air hanging above. These were dark times for the old men of Mount Shu—perhaps for the entire world of immortality cultivators.
Just then, Bai Yuxian returned and shot the Whale-Riding Immortal a sharp glare.
“This is all your fault,” she said coldly.
“May the heavens and the earth be my witness! I had nothing to do with this,” the Whale-Riding Immortal said, raising both hands. “Everyone on Mount Shu knows Ah Feng doesn’t act with reason. She’ll even kick a dog just for walking past her.”
“Hmph,” Bai Yuxian snorted and turned away in annoyance.
“Auntie Bai, please don’t hold it against my teacher,” Chu Liang said as he stepped forward and gently urged them both to sit. “I’ll apologize on her behalf and prepare a proper gift to make it up to you. Everyone on Mount Shu knows my teacher is unpredictable. Hitting innocent passersby is almost part of her daily routine.”
“What are you apologizing for?” Bai Yuxian asked, shaking her head. “I know how tough it must be for you. With a teacher like that, I’m sure these past few years haven’t been easy.”
“Ah Feng treats Chu Liang very well,” the Whale-Riding Immortal chimed in. “And if you spend more time around her, you’ll see she actually has some good points.”
“You want to play the good guy now?” Bai Yuxian snapped, shooting him another glare. “If you think she’s so great, why don’t you go live with her?”
“Come on now…” the Whale-Riding Immortal mumbled, lowering his head and sulking.
“Auntie Bai, please don’t get too angry,” Chu Liang said with a coaxing smile. “Anger makes people age faster. I have some millennium-old spiritual ginseng that’s great for your skin and health. I’ll have someone send it to you later.”
He continued, “I grew up following my teacher. She’s always treated me well, so I can’t say she’s a bad person. Maybe if you spend more time around her, you’ll see that she does have some good traits.”
“That much I understand,” Bai Yuxian replied with a nod. “Because she is your teacher, I had no real intention of fighting her. I just want her to stop picking fights. All I want is for our family to live in peace here at Mount Shu.”
“That’s easy enough,” the Whale-Riding Immortal declared, patting his chest. “I’ll go and have a proper talk with Ah Feng. She’s reasonable, really.”
“If you’re so capable, why didn’t you step in just now?” Bai Yuxian snapped as she glared at him. “I can’t even tell whose side you’re on.”
“Auntie Bai, don’t scold Uncle Jiang too much either,” Chu Liang said quickly as he placed a few boxes on the table. “Getting angry is bad for your health, and it’s especially harmful for cultivators like us.”
He pushed the boxes toward her and added, “These spirit plants can help calm your mood. You can brew them into tea. As for my teacher, I’ll speak with her properly. If what you say makes sense, she will listen.”
“Alright,” Bai Yuxian said with a soft smile. “You really know how to talk. With you around, I feel much better.”
She then glanced again at the Whale-Riding Immortal and said, “Unlike someone who was completely useless and only made things more chaotic.”
“He’s just repeating everything I said!” the Whale-Riding Immortal shouted, stomping his foot in frustration.
…
Finally, Bai Yuxian's anger subsided. And so, she asked, “By the way, I haven’t seen you in a few days. What brings you here today? Did you come looking for me?”
“Hehe.” Chu Liang chuckled awkwardly and gave a sheepish smile. “Since you asked, I won’t beat around the bush. I came to ask you about a certain valuable item.”
“What item?” Bai Yuxian asked, raising an eyebrow.
“The Cauldron of the Great Dao,” Chu Liang answered.
“Hmm?” Bai Yuxian frowned. “Why are you asking about that?”
Chu Liang leaned forward slightly and asked with a serious expression, “I heard that this treasure can help one attain the Heavenly Origin. Is that true?”
Chu Liang had gained insight into the rare Dao of Creation after being inspired by Baize and meditating within the White Pagoda, but he was still so far from becoming the master of this Dao.
If he continued cultivating like this, there was no telling whether he would succeed in this lifetime. Traces of the Dao of Creation were extremely rare, and finding enough opportunities was almost impossible.
That was when he recalled the Cauldron of the Great Dao, which Venerable Wen Yuan had once entered. This treasure had played a pivotal role in helping Venerable Wen Yuan and Lu Cang break through to the eighth realm. The Monastery Overseer had also mentioned that the Divine Ruins Monastery selected peak seventh-realm cultivation prodigies to elevate straight into the eighth realm using this cauldron.
That was why he had come to ask.
If he could become a master of the Great Dao of Creation, then perhaps he would be able to recreate Tuntun’s life essence and bring her back to life.
To the rest of the world, she was nothing more than the vessel of the former Demon God. Her death meant little to them. As soon as she died, the cultivation world plunged into the Era of Great Contention, a time driven by those on the brink of ascension.
Even the demons no longer cared about the fallen Demon God. Even if she were to be resurrected, she would be nothing more than a tiny Heaven-Devouring Bug, no longer seen as their guardian deity.
But Chu Liang had known her since she was just an egg. He had fed her, cared for her, and watched her grow, step by step, into what she had become. In the end, she had died to save him.
He still wanted to do everything he could to bring her back.
“The Cauldron of the Great Dao…” Bai Yuxian frowned and paused in thought. “All I can say is that this item is extremely dangerous. It can help a peak seventh-realm cultivator reach the Heavenly Origin, but the process is far from simple.”
She looked at Chu Liang and added, “And if you want to become the master of the Dao of Creation, you must first cultivate it to its pinnacle. So there’s no need to rush for now.”
“That won’t take long,” Chu Liang said with confidence. “I’ll reach the pinnacle of the seventh realm in my cultivation of the Great Dao of Creation soon.”
Bai Yuxian looked slightly surprised by his confidence and said, “The Dao essence of the Great Dao of Creation is extremely rare in this world. The fact that you’re able to comprehend it at all is already remarkable. But reaching the pinnacle of this Dao? With your current level of understanding, you will have to cultivate for another few hundred years.”
Hearing this, Chu Liang simply smiled and said, “It will be really fast.”
