Young Noble Be Monster Slaying
Chapter 964: Speeding Up Cultivation (I)

When Chu Liang found the Azure Dragon, the Azure Dragon was overseeing the reconstruction efforts for the Penglai Supreme Sect.

After Red Cotton Peak acquired the Penglai Supreme Sect, its remaining disciples ended up working under Chu Liang alongside Yang Shenlong. Some of them had been reluctant at first, but once the generous pay came in, they accepted the new arrangement.

To make things easier for work, most of the Penglai Supreme Sect disciples moved to Red Cotton Peak. Over time, it naturally became their new home and served as the unofficial sect grounds.

However, when Red Cotton Peak was destroyed again, the Penglai Supreme Sect disciples finally realized that while they relied on the Mount Shu Sect to make a living, they couldn’t afford to stay too close. With the Mount Shu Sect’s growing influence, being nearby meant getting swept into any trouble that came their way. After all, anyone caught in their orbit was bound to be dragged into it.

Though if one thought about things seriously, the Penglai Supreme Sect had been the first wave of trouble for the Mount Shu Sect.

In the end, the Penglai Supreme Sect settled on a new home. They moved to a temporary base in the Southern Regions, not far from Mount Shu. Although they still held the title of one of the Divine Nine sects, their former glory had long since faded. No one among them cared for grandeur anymore.

When Chu Liang arrived, the Penglai Supreme Sect disciples were hard at work, while the Azure Dragon stood off to the side, quietly watching without making any move to help.

Chu Liang greeted with a smile, "Everyone’s busy, huh?"

"Just building a place to rest our heads," the Azure Dragon replied with a smile. "What brings you here today, Young Hero Chu?"

Chu Liang waved his hand and said, "Just a small matter, nothing urgent. Why not have the Hall of Construction build some Feng-grade buildings? They're sturdier. Even after Red Cotton Peak was destroyed, many of the Feng-grade buildings stayed mostly intact and managed to preserve quite a few things. If it hadn’t been a battle involving someone on Evil Ksitigarbha’s level, the damage might not have been so widespread. Better buildings offer peace of mind."

"Feng-grade buildings are too expensive," the Azure Dragon replied bluntly. "The Penglai Supreme Sect doesn’t have the funds anymore. We’re just aiming for a shelter. If it gets destroyed, we’ll rebuild."

Chu Liang waved his hand grandly and declared, "That won’t do! Tomorrow, I’ll bring over the people from the Hall of Construction. We’ll upgrade everything to Feng-grade buildings. We will build one per person. Now that you're no longer on Red Cotton Peak, there’s more land to work with. I’ll cover the cost for all the buildings."

But the Azure Dragon didn’t look exhilarated. By now, he understood Chu Liang’s personality well. The young man never offered anything without knowing what he would get in return. For him to suggest something so generous, there had to be a catch.

Without hearing the actual request, the Azure Dragon didn’t dare accept the favor.

He asked cautiously, "Is there something you need from me?"

Chu Liang chuckled and said, "Well... of course, I do have a small request. But that has nothing to do with helping you. These are separate matters. I came here to borrow Penglai’s legendary artifact."

It was just as the Azure Dragon had expected. The request had something to do with the East Sea Chrono Wheel. Oddly enough, hearing that brought him a sense of relief.

The Azure Dragon smiled and said, "Since Red Cotton Peak and Penglai are closely affiliated now, there’s no issue with lending you the East Sea Chrono Wheel. What do you plan to use it for?"

Chu Liang answered seriously, "To put it simply, I want your help with my cultivation."

When the Azure Dragon arrived at Mount Shu and saw Enlightened Jiuyi[1], both Eminent Ones looked slightly sheepish.

Both of them said at the same time, "You too…"

They looked at each other and smiled. There was a bit of embarrassment in their eyes. They didn’t need to ask. It was clear they had come for the same reason.

The reward Chu Liang offered was just too generous to ignore.

Their legendary artifacts had been sitting around, gathering dust, so they figured it was better to put them to use. They would earn so much through their legendary artifacts.

"The Divine Mirror of the Eight Trigrams can speed up the flow of time inside the artifact. I’ll be staying inside for a while. So, Esteemed Senior Jiuyi, I’d like to ask you to set it to the highest speed," Chu Liang said.

He then turned to the Azure Dragon and added, "I’d also like you to come in with me and use the East Sea Chrono Wheel on me. Please set it to the fastest flow of time?"

The two Eminent Ones were shocked.

"What are you planning to do? If you speed things up that much, won’t that be dangerous?" one of them asked.

Chu Liang replied plainly, "I want to speed up my cultivation."

He didn’t tell the two seniors about his plan to bring Tuntun back to life by becoming the master of the Great Dao of Creation. He wasn’t even sure it would work, and it sounded too unbelievable to explain.

Still, even without knowing his real goal, what he was doing was already shocking. What kind of background did this guy have, if he could get two powerful cultivators to personally use two legendary artifacts just to help him?

It was simply too extravagant.

Whether it was the disciples of the Fog-Hidden Mountain of Immortals or the Penglai Supreme Sect, they only got the chance to cultivate inside these legendary artifacts during important occasions like the Assembly of Immortal Sects, when they needed the help of accelerated time.

But Chu Liang had called them out just for his own private use, and he had summoned both of them at the same time. He was truly the perfect embodiment of wealth and extravagance.

Yet, Enlightened Jiuyi and the Azure Dragon had no reason to turn him down. Chu Liang was paying them by the hour after all.

Even so, the Azure Dragon still offered a reminder. "Be careful. When both artifacts are used at the same time, time will move extremely fast for you. Don’t stay inside too long, or you might end up burning through your lifespan."

Although the flow of time outside would stay the same, Chu Liang’s own lifespan would pass quickly inside. If he entered a deep state of enlightenment and lost track of time, no one could say whether he would reach the end of his wealth or the end of his life first.

Fortunately, both Enlightened Jiuyi and the Azure Dragon were on his side. They wouldn’t let him train for too long. If things dragged on, they would stop the time acceleration themselves.

Chu Liang cupped his fists and said, "Esteemed Seniors, I’ll leave my life in your hands."

Of course, Chu Liang had one more safeguard. His teacher was waiting outside, keeping track of the time and checking on his condition at regular intervals.

Di Nufeng was now famous across the world of immortality cultivators. The once notorious troublemaker from Mount Shu had attained the eighth realm and become so fearsome that even old men might stop crying at night just from hearing her name.

Out of fear for Di Nufeng, the two cultivators would not dare to have any ill intentions toward Chu Liang.

Once everything was ready, Chu Liang entered the illusory realm inside the Divine Mirror of the Eight Trigrams and began meditating with the flow of time being accelerated by the East Sea Chrono Wheel.

The river of time surged around him, speeding up rapidly. His figure soon faded and blurred within the flow.

Immediately, his divine sense sank into the White Pagoda.

Inside the pagoda, several large-headed puppets worked quietly amid swirling mist and crackling lightning. Chu Liang let out a chuckle and said, "Good news, everyone. I spent a fortune to boost our productivity. One year of work now counts for many. So let’s give it our all. If we keep this pace, I’ll be able to push my cultivation in the Great Dao of Creation to the pinnacle of the seventh realm."

If he cultivated by himself, it would be too slow. But with the combined efforts of the Large-Headed Dolls, the accelerated flow of time became several times more effective.

By the end of this, he would surely have the chance to become the master of the Great Dao of Creation. This Dao was very difficult to comprehend. Without a Dao essence to study and understand, it would be almost impossible to master. He could only try to do it by using the legendary Cauldron of the Great Dao.

As for the Dao essence needed to reach the pinnacle of the seventh realm, Chu Liang planned to draw insight from the White Pagoda.

He sat down cross-legged right away, focused his divine sense on the pagoda, and settled into cultivation.

"Not gonna lie..." he murmured as soon as he closed his eyes. "Feels kinda weird to be cultivating for myself again."
