Chapter 336: Chapter 336: Little Brother, You Seem to be Introverted yet Arrogant
The Third Master directed his gaze at Huo Yirong and a soft smile appeared on his face. "What do you think?"
Remembering his younger cousin’s fiery temper, Huo Yirong wore an embarrassed expression.
He sighed resignedly and almost boastfully said, "My cousin’s temper is famously notorious in our Four Nine City. Whoever dares to provoke her, if she doesn’t blast them with cannons, consider me a loser."
He had heard about the unrest in the Doyle Family and was immediately concerned about his family, completely forgetting about his cousin’s explosive personality.
Huo Chuan approached and respectfully said to the two, "Second Master, Third Master, the boat is about to set sail."
Huo Yirong and Huo Yunjiao began to walk towards the cabin.
Inside the yacht’s cabin.
Qin Ruan was sitting at the bar snacking on sunflower seeds, while discussing something with Huo Zhi.
Huo Zhi said, "Madam, four rooms have been prepared in the cabin. You and the Master will share a room, the Second Master will have a room, and Young Master and Second Master Qin will each have their own rooms."
Sharing a room with Huo Yunjiao was not an issue for Qin Ruan as they had already been sharing a bed at home.
Recalling the expression on his face earlier today, she asked Huo Zhi, "Does the Third Master often spend the night outside?"
Huo Zhi considered her question, "Not really, apart from occasionally traveling abroad, the Master almost never spends the night outside."
Qin Ruan gently frowned, wondering if the Third Master would be comfortable staying over during their nearshore night fishing trip.
Having a knack for reading others, Huo Zhi noticed Qin Ruan’s thoughtful expression and softly said, "Madam, the Master was very happy today."
Working beside the Third Master, it was rare to see him displaying such worldly warmth and emotion.
Although their Master seemed genteel and refined on the surface, a born indifference and aloofness was hidden in his bones. His methods were even more relentless than his brother.
The Third Master rarely punished them, but when he did, losing half a life was considered a light sentence.
Despite his harshness, his protection of them was firmly engrained in their bones.
A few years ago, Uncle Qiang had personally gone to Siam Kingdom on a mission and had been embroiled in a power struggle between two factions.
After completing his mission, Uncle Qiang was held by one of the factions and was unable to return home. He reluctantly contacted the Hidden Guards of the Huo Family.
They immediately relayed the message to the Master. The Third Master’s methods were crude and direct. He assembled two-thirds of the Hidden Guards overnight, issuing death orders to bring Huo Qiang back alive.
The moment the Hidden Guards left, the Third Master immediately contacted the Royal Family of Siam Kingdom, pressuring them to ensure Huo Qiang’s safety.
The Siam Royal Family held almost no authority in the eyes of the locals and was reluctant to confront the local forces.
However, they did hold a trump card, which they only reluctantly revealed under the threats from the Third Master.
Under the Third Master’s pressure, the Siam Royal Family finally took action.
By the time the Hidden Guards arrived in Siam, Huo Qiang was being personally escorted by the royal guard squad.
As a result, the Siam Royal Family received military support from the Huo Family, providing them with enough capital to confront the local forces.
This unreachable figure, both respected and feared by them, was the man who the Hidden Guards of the Huo Family were willing to defend with their lives.
To them, Qin Ruan, as their Master’s wife, was also, by extension, their own Master.
If she was able to make the Third Master happy and please him, then she was someone whom the Hidden Guards of the Huo Family should respect.
Upon hearing what Huo Zhi said, Qin Ruan cracked a smile. Strangely, she had not noticed the Third Master’s unusually good mood today.
While snacking on her sunflower seeds, she asked casually, "When was the last time the Third Master took a break?"
Huo Zhi, who was about to respond, saw Huo Yunjiao and Huo Yirong enter the cabin and closed her mouth slowly.
She stepped back, bowed her head and said respectfully to the two men, "Second Master, Third Master."
Huo Yunjiao stared at Qin Ruan’s back and said with a smile, "If Ruanruan wants to know something, why not ask me directly?"
At the sound of his voice, Qin Ruan turned around to face the two brothers, Huo Yunjiao and Huo Yirong.
"Just making small talk."
She set the sunflower seeds on the small bar, clapped her hands, stood up, and walked towards the two men.
Standing in front of the two of them, she shifted her gaze to Huo Yirong, "Brother Rong, how long will it take us to reach our destination?"
Huo Yirong answered, "The trip to our destination will take approximately three hours."
In other words, a round trip would take about six hours and considering their night fishing activity, they would likely be finished by midnight.
Teasingly, Huo Yirong asked, "Does the young sister want to return overnight?"
Qin Ruan stayed silent but blinked at him, the expression on her face clearly in agreement.
Huo Yirong smiled, his eyes creasing, and teased in return, "So the little sister is worrying for the Third Brother, scared that he won’t be able to adjust to staying on the boat?"
With a slight raise of her eyebrows and a soft laugh in her eyes, Qin Ruan retorted, "Couldn’t it be that I’m the one who’s uncomfortable and not accustomed to staying on the ship?"
Hearing her admit to being uncomfortable, the light in the Third Master’s eyes faded. His lips pressed into a thin line.
He stepped forward, lifted Qin Ruan’s chin and gazed deeply into her flushed face.
In a hushed voice, he asked, "Where are you feeling unwell? Are you experiencing morning sickness?"
Studying his expression, his concern was plain to see.
Qin Ruan blinked, slightly taken aback.
Could the Third Master not sense that she was joking with Huo Yirong to change the topic?
This man just shamelessly made such an intimate gesture in public.
He may not feel embarrassed, but she still has a face to preserve.
From the corner of her eye, Qin RIuan caught sight of Huo Yirong’s wide, teasing smile.
She pulled away from the Third Master’s grasp and took a step back, "I’m not feeling unwell, I’m going to find the Second Brother."
With two foxes cornering her, it’s better to make a quick escape.
After Qin Ruan had gone to the second floor, Huo Yirong rested his arm on Huo Yunjiao’s shoulder and stifled a laugh.
"Third Brother, you..." He didn’t finish his sentence, instead bursting into laughter.
The Third Master had realized that Qin Ruan had probably not been feeling unwell when he had seen her startled expression.
He watched as Qin Ruan disappeared upstairs, and softly chuckled while shaking his head.
"This girl..."
Having caught his breath, Huo Yirong asked, "Third Brother, I think you’ve fallen for this girl. From what I could see, you were really nervous just then, something I haven’t seen in nearly thirty years."
The Third Master lowered his eyes, saw Huo Yirong mocking him, and pushed him away. "Enough. The boat is leaving soon, call everyone down."
As he finished, he started moving towards the leisure area.
Squinting his eyes, Huo Yirong stared at his departing figure and broke out in a full, unrestrained laugh, "Third Brother, you really are a reserved and coy person."
The Third Master kept moving, his back to Huo Yirong as he made his way to the leisure area.
With a humour-filled smile in his eyes, he paid no mind to his brother’s teasing words, appearing both helpless and astonished.
He had to admit that he did harbor certain feelings towards Qin Ruan.
But it was not as his brother had put it - that he had fallen for her.
Qin Ruan was young and pregnant. Given her sensible and well-behaved nature, it was only appropriate to show her a bit more tenderness and care.
The Third Master found a comfortable spot to sit down. Knowing that it would take his brother some time to bring everyone down, he let his gaze rest on Huo Zhi.
"Has there been anything odd while you’ve been by the Madam’s side?"
Huo Zhi respectfully answered, "Apart from the Su family sending someone to follow us a couple of days ago, there have been no other incidents."
