Pannis entered and exited his Inherent Psychic Domain three times in a row, and Nora plunged down to attack three times accordingly. Battling an enemy more powerful than oneself, especially one whose speed surpassed one’s own, using the domain to dodge enemy attacks or to launch sneaky attacks wasn’t a wise choice. This was unless the enemy’s energy perception was relatively weak and they couldn’t detect his position within the domain. Otherwise, while he was in the domain, experienced enemies would often guard the location corresponding to where he was inside, launching an attack the moment he left the domain’s space. Under these circumstances, it was very difficult for the person inside the domain to defend effectively or evade since, although they could sense the position of the enemy outside, they couldn’t predict the angle or method of the upcoming attack. One could only gamble on luck, hoping that their parry would just happen to block the enemy’s surprise attack. However, this kind of gambling was tantamount to joking with one’s own life; hence, the vast majority of people wouldn’t use it. Therefore, in such a situation, using the domain to dodge or parry was something one would only do when faced with mortal danger and convinced there was no other way.

Indeed, the same principles applied to Pannis. In the previous battles, he dared to use his Inherent Psychic Domain for short-range movements because the speeds of the two moribunds were lower than his own, allowing him to react in time before either of them could make a move. But now everything was different. Having absorbed all of Darak’s Power of Death, Nora’s speed and reaction capabilities had made a leap, and in terms of speed, it was he who had fallen into a clear disadvantage. Using the Inherent Psychic Domain to escape enemy attacks at this point would only result in even graver losses. But when his center of gravity shifted and he was about to face a series of follow-up attacks from Nora, or even when he was about to lose the fight, he still had to dive into the Inherent Psychic Domain, much as a traveler on the verge of dying of thirst in the Sighing Desert would desperately drink from a cup of poison offered to him.

Thus, the situation fell into an awkward stalemate, with Pannis trapped inside the domain and unable to exit. Each time he tried to come out, he faced fierce attacks from Nora, who, in turn, couldn’t break into his domain to pursue him and could only wait outside for him to appear. Of course, it wasn’t impossible for Pannis to remain hiding in the domain indefinitely, turning the duel into a test of endurance. However, as Nora pointed out, doing so was pointless besides wasting time, and time was exactly what Pannis most needed, as he was hoping to quickly leave Between the Rituals to aid the young girls enduring a hard battle outside. Therefore, he had no choice but to keep trying to leave the domain safely and return to the fight.

He attempted this three times.

The first time, Pannis tried to roll forward out of the Inherent Psychic Domain, hoping to avoid Nora’s first strike after his reemergence with this peculiar maneuver. However, Nora, who was in mid-air, turned out to be faster than he anticipated. Scarcely had he rolled out of the domain and back into the real world, his skin already felt the pressure of the air from the dagger, indicating that Nora’s dagger was alarmingly close. As Pannis rolled, he swung his sword upwards to block the attack, which was exactly what Nora hoped for, to slow down his rolling speed and suppress him into a disadvantage. As soon as Pannis swung his sword, Nora, as if preordained, withdrew her dagger and stomped down heavily towards the earth-bound Pannis. Still curled up, Pannis’s pupils contracted, realizing that even though the stomp hadn’t yet hit the ground, the energy fluctuations alone revealed the contained force. Had this not occurred within the Divine Power-imbued Holy Sanctuary but rather in an ordinary building, that stomp could likely have cracked the floor, with the vibrations potentially causing the building to collapse. Pannis had no confidence in enduring the force of this stomp; he might not die from it, but injury was inevitable, and most crucially, this stomp wasn’t the end — Nora certainly had other moves lined up. Thus, he had less than half a second to make a decision, and before the stomp landed, he once again rolled into the domain with his curled-up posture.

"Tsk, you’re quick to dodge." Nora’s foot hit the floor as she scoffed and ascended into the air again, her eyes closely tracking Pannis as he moved around in circles inside the domain. She constantly adjusted her position to stay above him, snorted coldly, and said, "Just don’t know how many more times you’ll be this lucky?"

For the second time, Pannis exited the Inherent Psychic Domain with his long sword held high above his head, his body soaring straight up. He already knew that Nora was preparing to dive from the sky to attack, so he adopted this posture to counterattack. He aimed to seize the opportunity to recover from his disadvantage by causing Nora, with her lack of combat experience, to panic due to the sudden assault and make a mistake. However, Pannis seemed to have overlooked one thing—the sky was not his stage. It was the territory of Nora, a Triclops, whose current power allowed her to move swiftly in the air. Therefore, as he soared upward, Nora also charged head-on, slightly shifting her direction midway to dodge Pannis’s weapon. Her twin daggers thrust viciously toward Pannis’s ribs, one leading and the other following. But what Nora’s daggers struck was merely an afterimage. Pannis sighed again and disappeared into his domain.

"Let’s see how many times you can repeat that," Nora halted her momentum and climbed in altitude, waiting for Pannis to reappear.

On the third attempt, Pannis didn’t make Nora wait too long. This time, he walked out of the Inherent Psychic Domain in the most ordinary manner. Although his appearance was swift, his disappearance was even quicker. It was as if he had made a mistake, stepping out of the domain only to immediately return at the fastest speed when Nora’s dive was just over two-thirds through.

His inexplicable behavior momentarily baffled Nora. Even though she didn’t understand his purpose, she climbed again, preparing to repeat her most powerful diving attack. However, just as she began to ascend, Pannis suddenly reappeared in the same spot. The inertia of thought formed over three successive attempts caused her to freeze for a moment before she realized, and immediately she switched from rising to descending toward Pannis below. The delay was only half a second, and she believed that with her speed, this half-second would not have a decisive impact.

But this fourth time, she realized she was wrong. She had only covered half the distance when she saw Pannis’s upturned head and the strange smile on his face.
