Chapter 376: § SICK §

Chapter 123

After they made up their minds on how their relationship would take a twist from the present situation. Kraig and Lyndon, who had different comprehension on dealing with their love life and their woman. Went to the academy not to study but to wait for Yanarym to appear. Nonetheless, even her shadow didn’t show.

Regardless of what Yanarym claimed to be the truth, Kraig was confident that he would embrace and accept her. He assumed that if he gave her abundant trust, she would not resort to telling him any lies.

Lyndon had spent plenty of time pondering, but instead of gradual improvements, they worsened. He persisted in convincing himself that what Yanarym said in the office was false. That she was genuinely enamored by Kraig. He kept inventing justifications to convince himself that it was all a falsity. Through those force-believing, it started to get a toll on him, and he began to doubt his thoughts. Maybe it was not a lie if it was the truth...

His thoughts were becoming stimulated by sentimentality. Fury was the dominant emotion, and it was erupting. He was too amazed at her, she never failed to do things that could make him go crazy.

If everything was real, then she was cheating on him. All this time, she was deceiving him. He was right. She regained her love for Kraig. She told him that she was not feeling anything from Kraig but... what?! She was fucking in love with both of them?! Bullshit!

Lyndon decided to initiate the communication between them but she remained unattended. However, he was already determined to question her, if he didn’t clarify what was the truth, he would keep on mulling over it. She had to tell that she was lying about that! She better be! She could not love them both! It can only be one, and it must be him!

He headed off to her house after the dismissal. And saw Kraig along the way, his eyes were flickering with the fire of hatred. "What are you doing here?" He asked menacingly.

Kraig furrowed his brows and fixed his gaze on Lyndon. Kraig’s expression hollered at Lyndon to leave, but he opted not to say anything.

He found out that Yanarym’s mother was not coming to the academy during the days that Yanarym was unreachable. That never happened, the witch professor never had an absence for those two decades working on the academy. Then, he heard the faculty talking about her daughter, Yanarym... saying that she was sick.

"Love is sick, I’m here to visit her," Kraig said dryly. Lyndon clenched his fist, ’This bastard still calls her, Love? And what? Yanarym was sick?’

Lyndon was dubious of his claims because that would be impossible, whenever they were together, he would always inject her with his healing mana to keep her from any harm. She can’t be sick, she can only be sick if that disease was incurable or caused by a spell stronger than his magic.

’Or maybe, she was faking her sickness to run away from him.’ Lyndon kept his head down and bit his lips so hard that they bruised. ’She will choose Kraig over him because Kraig was always better than him.’ Negativity was swallowing him.

"No, fuck!"

Kraig ignored Lyndon, he was here for Yanarym and not to fight. The brawl last time was enough, and his sorcery had been restricted, he couldn’t use it for a month as did Lyndon. Kraig walked through the gate of Yanarym’s house but was deterred to enter by an invisible force field. "What’s going on?" He mumbled and tried to get in again but only got electrified.

"Did you do this?" He turned to Lyndon in annoyance but he kept in silence. Then Lyndon’s expression became darker, but that wasn’t directed at Kraig. Kraig followed his gawking eyes and saw Marcus at the door looking at them.

"He did this," he murmured and stepped forward. "Let me in, I have something to say to Rym," Kraig said but Marcus only raised a brow at him.

"Marcus! Why did you put a barrier here?! Get this off!" Lyndon growled, he never liked this man.

Instead of listening for them to babble. Matteo closed the door and paid them no mind. "MARCUS!"

"Lena," Matteo turned to Yanarym’s mother. "I’m going to search for the altar and that person. I’m keeping the force field activated. So, don’t let those bugs get close to Rym."

Lena nodded to agree because she had no more strength to talk. She had been buried reading books to seek a remedy herself. Although, she was already aware that there was no other solution than to kill the person who cursed her daughter. Lena wanted options since Matteo was still unable to locate that person. The time was running out and Yanarym was starting to undergo dreary episodes from the curse. It was more than nightmares, they could see her suffer physically, she was dying. If this kept on going her daughter, Yanarym would die miserably.

Matteo vanished into thin air after checking Yanarym’s condition.

Outside, Kraig and Lyndon were dumbfounded by how Marcus behaved toward them. Between the three of them, there was always unspoken consent of rivalry.

Lyndon could sense it whenever Marcus would come to his house just to fetch Yanarym. No, was it because he was thinking too much? Why was he thinking of Marcus as his rival as well? If Yanarym was cheating on him with Marcus too, he didn’t know... he didn’t what could he do.

"That bastard!" Kraig exclaimed, as mentioned, Kraig was always indignant towards Marcus. He always despised him. Kraig refused to stay calm and tried to break in as well but it only burned his skin.

"What’s wrong with him?! WHY IS HE KEEPING A FORCE FIELD AROUND HER HOUSE?! YANARYM! GET OUT HERE! WE NEED TO TALK! LOVE!"

While Kraig was occupied screaming, Lyndon took his communicator and called the faculty to ask for Professor Lena’s communicator’s contact. He instantly contacted her communicator when he received the information, but it was only ringing.

The emotion of fuming with anger earlier was drifted to anxiousness, Lyndon saw Yanarym’s mother inside. In a short period of opening the door, he saw her sitting on the floor with so much mess inside the house. He realized something was wrong.

Professor Lena detested filthy and unorganized places, but the house from the inside seems like it was not clean for the past few days. How could a person who was a neat freak be sitting in the middle of all the mess? In addition, what Kraig had said earlier suddenly struck him like a lightning.

Lyndon was could not shake off the unpleasant sense that was foreboding. Yanarym should be fine, she could not really be sick.

Seeing Lyndon’s disturbing behavior, Kraig ceased persisting to get in the force field and peered at Lyndon. "What’s wrong? Is something going on? Why are you turning pale? Is it about Rym?"

"Keep quiet." He signaled Kraig when he got through the call.

Kraig was about to shout at him in irritation for commanding him yet he stopped, seeing how worried Lyndon was. Kraig immediately felt the anxiousness as well, if it was about Yanarym then it must be dangerous. Kraig could sense the fear enveloping him. Lyndon was the type of person who didn’t get agitated even if someone would die. And his worried expression stressed that the situation was not good.

"Professor Lena, It’s me, Lyndon. I’m outside your house, can you let me in?" He asked in a polite manner, Kraig beside him watched the communicator and saw that the professor was not in any condition to talk. She seemed to be not sleeping or bathing for days. The background was in a state of a jumble; books, inks, paper, candles, ashes, and dirt were all over the place.

From what Kraig knew, Professor Lena was never that one person who would be delighted seeing a single speck of dust. He remembered that she made countless students sanitize the entire hallway by trashing a jar of paint on the floor.

"I’m sorry Lyndon, the house is not available for guests right now." Professor Lena replied, her voice was weak, almost a whisper but her tone was firm. Without even looking at them she flipped another page of the book. Lyndon’s eyes narrowed to the book, it was not a usual book that could appear in public.

It was a volume of a forbidden series of curses. Why did Professor Lena browse on that?

"Is it about Yanarym? I heard she’s sick." Kraig turned his head to Lyndon. Then, fixed his attention to the professor. "Can I see her?"

"I told you, I don’t receive guests right now."

"Can I take a look at her? Maybe I could help Rym," Lyndon uttered. Lena paused and shifted her eyes to the communicator directed to them. She was silent for a few seconds and then gestured her hand.
