Chapter 535: Enjoying the Rides

As requested by Calliope, Calix brought her to the spinning tea cup ride. The little dumpling’s face lit up once she saw the bright colorful cups spinning around.

Children and adults alike were enjoying the ride. Their merry laughter echoed in the arcade, harmonizing with the upbeat melody played by the giant speakers.

Lowering Calliope to the ground, Calix smilingly asked, "Which one do you want?"

Calix wanted to prioritize Calliope’s choices more than his own. He wouldn’t mind riding which tea cup but, perhaps his darling daughter was inclined toward a particular one.

Tugging at Calix’s hand, Calliope pointed toward one of the colorful cups, her cheeks flushed with excitement.

"Papa, the pink one with white ribbons. Can?"

Calix’s eyes followed where Calliope was pointing at. A family with one young child occupied the cup. The current ride had just started.

"Okay. We will pick that one. We need to wait until they’re done first."

"Yay~"

As Calliope patiently waited for the ride to end, Calix took this chance to take some photos of the little dumpling and the colorful tea cup ride. He sent them all to Leslie.

[Calix: Our princess waiting for her favorite tea cup]

[Calix: Gonna update the mission later]

Seconds after Calix delivered the texts to Leslie’s number, Calliope hurriedly tugged at his pants. Her eyes looked from the tea cup to her papa repeatedly.

"Papa! Papa! We can go now!"

"Okay, okay. Up you go!"

Lifting Calliope, Calix brought her to the pink cup with the white ribbon prints. They exchanged smiles with the family who had just vacated the particular cup.

As the previous ride stopped, more new visitors flocked to the other cups. The ride operator waited for everyone to settle in their tea cups.

Calix made sure Calliope was secure in her seat. The cup had seatbelts for children. Soon, the new ride began as the platform started to rotate in one direction.

"Poppy, try turning this wheel," Calix pointed to the red steering wheel at the center of the tea cup, "Do it slowly first."

"Oh?"

Calliope extended her short limbs, grabbing the red steering wheel. She gasped in surprise once she realized the tea cup spun—not because of the rotating platform!

"Papa! The tea cup go spin!"

"You can spin the cup with this," Calix laughed before pretending to wobble, "But, don’t spin it too quickly ah. Papa will get dizzy."

"Yay!"

Calliope happily turned the steering wheel, her giggles louder the more she mimicked a driver’s twisting and turning motion.

When the ride eventually slowed to a stop, her cheeks pink from laughter.

"Hehe~ So much fun ah!"

Calix chuckled in helplessness as he carried Calliope from the cup. He poked her chubby cheeks gently, teasing the happy little dumpling.

"So, should we go to the merry-go-round now? Or, how about the roller coaster?"

The theme park had several rides suitable for children. The roller coaster mentioned by Calix was small and a slow one, having gentle dips and curves for the little thrill-seekers.

"Roller coaster!" declared Calliope loudly, unable to hold back from her excitement.

"Hahaha! Okay, roller coaster is it."

Bringing Calliope away from the spinning cup ride, Calix headed to the mini roller coaster. The area was near the merry-go-round he suggested earlier.

Logan had long reappeared. Pairing with Owen, they watched their boss playing with the little miss. They didn’t forget to take photos from afar, intending to share them with their madam later.

Once again, Calliope had fun with the mini roller coaster. Despite the slopes being gentle and the structure being low in height, she screamed in thrill when the ride curved and dipped.

"Papa, Papa, more!"

An exhilarated Calliope couldn’t help but beg for the second time. She couldn’t get enough of the thrill.

Knowing that he couldn’t say no to his little daughter, Calix agreed. Thus, the father and daughter duo rode the mini roller coaster one more time.

Once they were done, Calix took Calliope for a snack break. They headed to where the food and beverage stalls lined up, complete with many tables for the visitors.

"Papa, try this," Calliope forked one little slice of the chocolate waffle, bringing it to Calix’s mouth. She giggled when her papa opened his mouth wide and chomped on the waffle.

After the short snack break, Calix brought Calliope to the other rides. Oh, only after the little one went to the toilet.

They played the merry-go-round, flying elephant and rode the children’s train.

Even after taking those rides, Calliope showed no signs of being exhausted. Calix had to make sure she drank water frequently and had little snacks in between.

"Aren’t you sleepy, Poppy?" asked Calix worriedly when they had lunch in a restaurant. He stared at the little dumpling across the table, "Papa is sleepy ah. Let’s take a nap first after eating, okay?"

Swallowing the egg fried rice, Calliope bobbed her head up and down, "Okay~ Papa is sleepy. Papa has to sleep. Poppy will sleep with Papa."

Calix held back from laughing, also touched by Calliope’s consideration. He told the little dumpling to eat slowly, afraid of her choking or having indigestion.

Under his little yet successful persuasion just now, Calix got Calliope to have a short nap after lunch. He used one of the rooms in the VIP lounge.

As the little dumpling napped comfortably on the comfy couch, Calix video called Leslie. His wife’s smiling face was the first thing he saw once the call was connected.

"Do you two have fun?"

Leslie’s soft voice echoed from the other side. Her question earned a smile from Calix.

"Very much, sweetheart."

"Hehe, I think Poppy will have so much to share once she’s home," Leslie chuckled, warm small lighting up her face.

"So do I, my love."

Calix couldn’t describe the joy he experienced today. He loved seeing how happy Calliope was. He wished to preserve the little one’s smiles and laughter, including her silly antics deep in his mind.

He missed all these before.

He wouldn’t repeat the same mistake even though his previous death was inevitable.
