Chapter 534: The Father and Daughter’s Theme Park Adventure

Calliope knew what a date was.

A date was when Papa and Mama went out having fun. So, didn’t this mean she would go out and have fun with Papa?

Yay! She wanted to go out with her Papa!

To play and eat yummies!

"Thank you, Papa. And, good morning~"

Calliope wished Calix in a sing-song voice once she received the pink rose bouquet from him. She giggled when her papa kissed her cheeks like her mama did before.

Calix was crouching opposite Calliope to be on her level. A warm smile lit up his face as he released the little dumpling, his eyes looking at her from head to toe.

"My buttercup is so much like a princess today," Calix chuckled, happy to see how well the pink dress suited Calliope, "So, are you ready for our adventure today?"

Fortunately, Calliope looked delighted with the idea. He couldn’t help but feel anxious, thinking of the little dumpling’s acceptance.

Clutching the bouquet, Calliope stared at Calix with eyes of wonder, "Where, Papa? Where we go ah?"

Calliope knew that Leslie wouldn’t follow her and Calix today. She questioned her mama when the lady first told her earlier, only to receive reassurance from her.

"Today is Poppy’s special day with Papa. Don’t worry about Mama, en? Mama will wait at home to hear Poppy’s story later, okay?"

Under Leslie’s gentle consolation, Calliope eagerly promised that she would tell her mama everything about her outing with her papa.

Calix extended his hands, carrying Calliope up. Smiling brightly at the little dumpling, he said, "Somewhere you’ll love. You’ll know once we’re there."

Leslie watched the scene with a smile, her heart full seeing the heartwarming exchange between Calix and Calliope.

No matter how many times she witnessed such a lovely interaction with them, she would never be bored.

"Have fun, you two," said Leslie, adjusting the ribbon on Calliope’s right hair bun, "And, Poppy, don’t go far from your papa, okay? Tell him if you’re tired or wanna go to the toilet."

"Okay, Mama~ Poppy will be a good girl."

"We’ll go now, sweetheart. See you later."

Calliope and Calix gave Leslie a quick hug, receiving a light kiss on their cheeks from the lady in return. The scene was witnessed from afar by a smiling Aunt Wendy.

Leslie sent Calliope and Calix to the door. She waved at them as they entered the sedan, which had Logan sitting behind the wheels. Another bodyguard, Owen, was in the front passenger seat.

"Mama, bye bye~"

"We’ll go first, sweetheart."

Leslie laughed in helplessness as Calix and Calliope waved at her from the wound-down window. The father and daughter duo wore the same beaming look on their faces.

"Have fun! See you two later!"

Logan slowly drove away from the porch, heading to the main gate of the compound. The sunlight was reflected on the sleek sedan.

Leslie remained standing in the same spot, watching the sedan eventually disappear behind the massive wrought-iron gate doors. The low hum of the engine also faded.

"They’ll surely have fun," said Aunt Wendy quietly as she stepped out from the door, approaching Leslie, "Hehe, that’s a sweet gesture from Mr. Calix."

Leslie glanced at Aunt Wendy, humming in agreement. Once they heard about Calix’s plan to bring Calliope out for a special date, the housekeeper and her husband fully supported it.

As chuckles slipped from her lips, Leslie said, "The two troublemakers are away now. How about we have some tea and snacks together, Aunt Wendy? We can watch the morning weekend drama."

"Hehe, I won’t say no to it. My troublemaker of a husband is busy in the garden. Shall we now? It’ll air soon."

"Let’s go!"

The two ladies retreated inside the manor with the intention of gushing over the new romance drama.

When Leslie and Aunt Wendy leaned comfortably on the couch, watching the morning drama, Calix and Calliope finally arrived at the theme park.

Logan pulled up near the entrance under Calix’s instruction. The latter wanted to walk through the front gate with Calliope, thinking that the little one would be happy with the experience.

Once Calix and Calliope stepped out of the car, Logan drove to the VIP parking lot. The latter’s colleague, Owen, joined the father-and-daughter duo discreetly.

Oh, he was also entrusted with a backpack of Calliope’s belongings. One shouldn’t go out with a child without bringing the latter’s necessary items.

"Wow! Woww! Papa, so amazing!"

Eye-wide in awed surprise, Calliope couldn’t take her eyes away from the entrance of the theme park. Her cheeks puffed up and deflated repeatedly as she excitedly smacked Calix’s shoulder.

"Hahaha! Are you that happy, huh?" Calix chided Calliope playfully, entertained by his daughter’s obvious joy. He carried the little dumpling with ease on one arm.

"Happy! Poppy is happy!"

Calliope’s brightened eyes stared at the colorful towering gates of the theme park, adorned with vibrant banners and whimsical sculptures of creatures from renowned fairy tales.

Families and children, friends and also lovers bustled around the entrance, their laughter filling the air. Some of them lined up to buy tickets while others rushed to get inside.

The sweet scent of cotton candy and the buttery scent of caramelized popcorn wafted through the chilly breeze, mingling with cheerful music.

Squealing with delight, Calliope abruptly looked at Calix from the giant gate, her round eyes almost popping out of their sockets.

"Papa! Hurry! Let’s go and play!"

Calliope couldn’t decide what to admire first. From the television shows, she knew theme parks were where the children could play to their hearts’ content.

"Okay! Anything my buttercup wants!"

Carrying Calliope toward the gate, Calix let her gush over the attractions outside the theme park before heading to the VIP entrance. Using the exclusive passes, the father and daughter quickly found themselves inside.

"So, my little princess," Calix smiled at Calliope, arching his brows playfully, "Which one do you wanna play first? The spinning cup or the merry-go-round?"

Calix did schedule the itinerary for today but, he insisted on asking Calliope first.

"Oh~ Poppy can choose??" Calliope gasped, her smile widening, showing her toothy grin, "Papa, can we go play spinning cup first, please~"

Calliope tilted her head, smiling cutely at her papa. Calix burst out laughing, feeling helpless in front of his daughter’s adorable antic.

"Okay. Let’s go there first."

"Yay!"

Thus, the father and daughter duo began their theme park adventure.
