Chapter 533: Of Pink Tulle Skirt and Pink Roses
Saturday morning.
Turning the doorknob, Leslie opened the door carefully. She came to wake Calliope up when Calix was getting ready for their theme park date.
The smile on Leslie’s lips softened as she saw Calliope curling up under the fluffy blanket, hugging Mimo. She couldn’t wait to see how happy the little dumpling was soon.
Stepping inside Calliope’s princess bedroom, Leslie walked quietly to the bed. The sun peeked through the tiny slit between the blackout curtain, casting a light streak on the pastel pink walls and the soft carpeted floor.
"My darling princess, good morning," Leslie whispered gently, her voice soft and melodic as she stroked Calliope’s hair, "Mr. Sun is up already, my dear."
Leslie’s gentle pat stirred Calliope awake. Rubbing her eyes, she mumbled sleepily, "...Mama? Mama, hug Poppy please..."
Barely opening her eyes, Calliope stretched her arms out, wanting Leslie to hug her. The little one’s adorable action earned laughter from the lady.
"Hehe, time for some morning hug~"
Leslie slid on the bed, lying next to Calliope before bringing the little dumpling into her arms. Calliope scooted closer to her mama, pressing her drowsy face on her chest.
Humming to a soft melody, Leslie continued stroking Calliope’s tiny head, down to her back. The hour was still early at seven-thirty. She didn’t need to rush her daughter to wake up.
Oh, but...
Leslie remembered the food trolley waiting outside the bedroom. Calix made some pancakes for Calliope before hurriedly getting ready for the day.
Parting her lips, Leslie murmured, "The pancakes won’t taste as good if they turn cold."
"Pancakes? Pancakes! Poppy want!"
Leslie burst out laughing when Calliope flung her eyes open, revealing her desire to eat the pancakes. She patted the little dumpling’s bum playfully, still amused by her daughter’s action.
"You woke up because of the pancakes? Hahaha! Aiya, go and wash your face first. Brush your teeth too, darling."
"Okay!"
Calliope rolled on the bed before jumping to the floor. The little dumpling ran deng deng deng to the washroom. Her mama’s hearty laughter still echoed in the room.
Shaking her head in helplessness, Leslie left the bed to get the food trolley. She pushed it inside the room, heading to the small table by the windows.
Leslie picked up the plate of strawberry pancakes, carefully placing it on the table. Aside from the fluffy pancakes, Calix also prepared a glass of milk and a small bowl of yogurt with colorful sprinkles for the little one.
"Wow! Mama! So delicious!"
A fresh-looking Calliope had just come out of the washroom when Leslie pushed the trolley to one side. The breakfast was already served on the table.
"Mama, Papa where?" asked Calliope once she climbed to sit on her pink chair. Her round eyes stared at Leslie, wondering where Calix was.
"Today, Poppy will have breakfast with Mama only," Leslie sat across the table, smiling at the little dumpling, "Your papa is preparing a surprise for Poppy."
"Oh? A surprise?" Calliope whistled in awe, her little mind focusing on the particular word, "A surprise for Poppy?"
"Hehe, yes~" Leslie nodded, chuckles rolling out of her mouth, "Shower after you eat, okay? Your papa will wait for you."
"Okay!"
The mother and daughter enjoyed their time together, painting a picture of joy in the morning.
Calliope happily ate the fluffy and yummy pancakes made by her papa, even offering bites to her mama. She barely left crumbs on the plate and even finished the milk and yogurt well.
"Shower time, my darling," Leslie nudged Calliope gently to the washroom. She winked at the little dumpling, "Mama will do your hair today, okay?"
"Okay~"
Calliope obediently went to shower. She was old enough to take a bath or shower by herself.
As the little dumpling was busy in the washroom, Leslie stepped outside for a moment to get an item. She quickly returned with something—a brand-new dress for today’s outing.
"Oh! Ohhh!"
Once again Calliope was filled with awe as soon as she saw the new dress hanging on the coat rack. Her eyes glimmered with joy and fascination before she looked at Leslie.
"This is your dress for today," Leslie took the dress by holding the hanger, bringing it closer to Calliope, "You’ll go somewhere special with your papa soon."
"Somewhere special?" Calliope repeated, wondering what Leslie meant, "Where, Mama?"
"Hehe, you’ll know soon," Leslie put one finger on her lips, her smile softening, "Time to get dressed, my darling."
A chirpy Calliope did as she was told. She sang happily when she slid into the soft pink frock dress, layered with a tulle skirt. She was a picture of adorable once she wore the dress.
Once Calliope sat on the chair opposite the vanity mirror, Leslie picked up the hair comb and asked, "Which style do you want today, my dear?"
Perking up, Calliope raised both of her hands and patted the sides of her head, "Two dumplings with ribbons, Mama~"
"Anything my princess wishes for."
Leslie combed through Calliope’s soft, long hair. The little one beamed with excitement as she waited for her twin bun updo to be ready. She chose a pair of pink satin ribbon hair clips.
"A spritz of perfume and~ My darling is ready."
"Hehe, thank you, Mama. Hehe~ That tickle ah!"
Calliope giggled when Leslie showered her chubby cheeks with little kisses. She returned the gesture by kissing her mama’s face too.
Soon, a pink-dressed Calliope with a twin bun updo emerged from the bedroom, led by Leslie.
The little dumpling clutched one side of her tulle skirt. Her mama held her other hand as they headed to the staircase.
"Oh? Ohhh! Papa and flowers!"
Calliope yelled once she spotted Calix standing downstairs. Her papa looked as dashing as the Prince Charming she saw in her fairy tale picture books.
Calix donned a navy suit, holding a bouquet of pink roses. The lush blooms spread their sweet scent in the air.
Curling up his lips, Calix arched his brows as he greeted Calliope, "My princess, are you ready for your special outing today? A date with your papa here?"
Calliope broke into giggles, "Yes!"
