Chapter 518: Handsome, Beautiful and Adorable

Following Mrs. Wei from behind, Calix and Leslie walked down a corridor, lined with ornate mirrors and delicate paintings. Their footsteps were quiet on the polished marble floors.

Calliope was still perched on her papa’s arm, eyes wandering from left to right. She couldn’t help but marvel at how elegant the boutique was, reminding her of ateliers she saw in her favorite fairy tale shows.

Down the hallway, Mrs. Wei opened the double doors, revealing a spacious room beyond the doorframe. The private dressing room was bathed in the warm, flattering lights from above.

A young lady with an elegant bobcut stood in the middle of the room. Her sharp eyes immediately assessed the family.

"CEO Xu and Mrs. Xu, our finest designer will assist you," Mrs. Wei smiled warmly, gesturing at the lady, "This is Theresa Tan. She will work with you today."

"CEO Xu and Mrs. Xu, welcome," Theresa stepped forward to greet the husband and wife, wearing a polite smile on her lips. Her eyes shifted to Calliope, "Aren’t you the sweetest little lady, Little Miss Xu?"

Calliope waved at Theresa, offering her confident and lovely smile, "Hi~ My name is Calliope. You can call me Poppy."

Theresa chuckled, delighted to see such a loveable child. As for Mrs. Wei, she gestured toward the couch in the room, "Please make yourselves comfortable. Theresa is here to bring your vision to life."

The family of three sank into the three-seater couch. Leslie smoothened her skirt while Calliope climbed to sit on Calix’s lap.

This room was just the same as in Leslie’s memory. A tiny smile tugged on her lips as she recalled her fond memory of coming here once before.

Theresa and Mrs. Wei sat opposite the family of three. The young designer’s expression indicated her attentiveness.

"I understand that you’re looking for something for an upcoming banquet. Could you share your preferences? What is your vision for the event?"

Leslie glanced at Calliope. The little dumpling was practically beaming with excitement. She shook her legs, unable to hold back.

"We’d like something elegant but understated," Leslie began, telling Theresa what she imagined about the dresses, "My daughter and I would love to match as mother and daughter. Also, the dress shall be quite modest."

Theresa nodded, jotting down words on her leather notepad, "Do you have any color preference?"

Calliope perked up at the mention of color. Tugging at Leslie’s sleeve, her small voice chiming in, "Mama, pink, please?"

Leslie laughed softly. She gently stroked Calliope’s head, "Alright, my darling. Pink it is, then. What do you think, honey?"

"I agree," Calix quickly nodded, giving his full support, "I must add. I want to coordinate my attire with theirs."

"Pink can be wonderfully elegant," Theresa continued writing on the notepad, her mind conjuring beautiful images, "Any specific shade, Mrs. Xu? Pastels, blush tones or vibrant shades?"

"Pastel pink," Leslie quickly replied, "You may add accents to add depth, Miss Tan. I believe in your expertise."

Calix nodded again, thinking nothing was wrong with Leslie’s choice. He didn’t even mind if the designer tailored a three-piece suit in pastel pink for him.

Theresa tapped the head of the pen on her chin, seemingly immersed in her own thinking. After a moment of silence, she said, "Mrs. Xu’s dress should be in full length while for Little Miss Calliope, I suggest a tea-length one."

Glancing at Calix, Theresa added, "For CEO Xu, I suggest a tailored suit with subtle accents in pink. Perhaps a tie or pocket square in the same pink shade."

Calliope’s round eyes stared at Theresa, glimmering with anticipation, "Can my dress have sparkles, please?"

Theresa laughed lightly at Calliope’s question. Winking, she said, "A few pretty, fairy-like sparkles just for you."

"That sounds perfect," Leslie chuckled. She rested her hand on Calliope’s shoulder, "Let’s go from there."

"Then, I’ll bring out a few sketches and fabric samples," Theresa rose to her feet, intending to head to her workspace, "Please wait here."

As the family of three waited, one of the staff came, bringing refreshments. Mrs. Wei entertained Leslie and Calix as Calliope wandered around the dressing room.

The little dumpling stopped by a nearby mirror. Blinking her eyes, she started spinning, her laughter echoing in the room.

"Mama! Papa! Look! Poppy practice for Poppy’s dress ah!"

Calix, Leslie and Mrs. Wei broke into laughter, watching Calliope’s antics from the seating area. The little dumpling continued her adventure, now staring at the design drafts framed on the walls.

Theresa returned shortly with sketches and swatches. She carefully laid them across the table. Once she received Leslie and Calix’s full focus, she began explaining each design with precision.

As for Mrs. Wei, she stepped outside. Her presence was still needed by the staff attending the other patrons.

"This gown," Theresa pointed to a sketch, showing a full-length dress with a high neckline and delicate embroidery, "Mrs. Xu suits this dress. It’s elegant. For Little Miss Calliope, I suggest adapting it into a shorter version with a sash."

Before Leslie said anything, Theresa pulled one of the fabrics in the blush pink shade, "What do you think of this, Mrs. Xu?"

Leslie ran her fingers on the fabric, feeling how soft the texture was and how lovely the color was. She glanced at Calliope, "Darling, do you like this color?"

"It’s pretty, Mama," Calliope beamed, pressing her cheek to the fabric and giggling, "So soft! Poppy love it so much!"

Seeing that both Leslie and Calliope agreed, Theresa turned to Calix, "CEO Xu, I recommend a classic black or charcoal gray for your suit. Adding a subtle pink piping will bring a more unique touch, aside from the pastel pink tie or pocket square."

"I don’t mind getting all," Calix chuckled, adding jokingly, "Let me shine like my wife and daughter."

"Hehe~ Papa wear pink suit ah," Calliope covered her mouth, laughing at Calix, "Papa will be pretty like Poppy and Mama."

"Papa will be handsome," Calix raised his brows, lightly poking Calliope’s right cheek, "Mama will be beautiful and you, Poppy will be adorable."

Leslie let the father and daughter engage in their silly conversation. She still focused on the young designer.

"We shall take measurements now, Mrs. Xu," Theresa put down her note before grabbing her measuring tape, "Should I begin with you?"

"Sure, Miss Tan."

Their day at the boutique was still long.

After taking the measurements for the family of three, Theresa discussed a few more details with Leslie and Calix. The little Calliope didn’t mind anything as long as her dress would have sparkles.

"I have everything I need now. I’ll have the initial designs ready for your approval within a week," Theresa clasped her hands together, pleased with the outcome of the discussion, "We’ll schedule a fitting once the pieces are in progress."

Leslie’s eyes glimmered with delight. The meeting with Theresa went longer than expected but, she believed the young designer would do justice to their outfits.

Hehe~ She couldn’t believe she was able to experience what she usually read or watched from stories.

Leslie tried not to think of the possible high prices for the outfits. Pondering about it would just scare her.
