Chapter 517: I’ll Swipe Your Black Card Today

Calix’s people always monitored Nicholas’ movements from afar. Two people even sneaked into the man’s company, pretending to be new hires.

So far, none of their covers had been blown. Nicholas showed no signs of changing his routines or personal behaviors.

When Calix was on the ride to the mall earlier, he received a report from Team B’s leader, Kenneth. They saw Nicholas heading out of his residential building, seemingly going the same way to Qindom Plaza.

"Monitor him. He might be going to other places," was what Calix instructed Team B because the possibility was huge.

It turned out...

Nicholas indeed stepped foot in Qindom Plaza.

Calix was aware Nicholas tried watching his every move. He deliberately let the man do that to prevent him from being discovered. Still, his security measures were absolute.

Calix had informed Leslie of the possibility they bumped into Nicholas. Thankfully, she looked less worried than before.

As Calix led Leslie and Calliope to Lavender Thread, he shot a quick message to Kenneth. His order was just the same.

Kept watch on Nicholas but, never alerted him of their presence.

Kenneth sent a text message in response instead of talking to Calix through the earbud.

[Mr. N is spotted at a cafe on the second floor. He is alone for now.]

That was good enough.

Calix would pretend to be surprised if Nicholas showed up in front of him soon. Let the man think his target was thoroughly oblivious to his intention.

"That’s the shop, Poppy," Calix pointed to a store in purple-themed, a few feet from them, "You can get your pink dress there."

"The purple is so pretty too, Papa," exclaimed Calliope, her eyes glittering in delight, "A pink and purple dress will be pretty too."

"Hehe, indeed, it is."

As Calix, Leslie and Calliope nearly approached Lavender Thread, they saw the staff waiting for them at the entrance. All of them were in cream-colored suits with lilac scarves around their necks.

"Welcome to Lavender Thread, CEO Xu and Mrs. Xu. Little Miss Xu is also here."

A familiar face greeted the family of three, including the other salespersons of the boutique. They lined up by the manager’s side, bowing to the family of three.

Leslie still remembered Mrs. Wei, the manager, despite only meeting the lady once.

Still, Leslie knew she shouldn’t act familiar with Mrs. Wei. The lady manager didn’t know that she met the latter when she was still in her soul form.

Haha...

If Mrs. Wei could see her as Calix did during their first meeting, the lady might faint[01].

Months had passed but, Leslie still remembered vividly how the dignified CEO Xu fainted because of her soul form. She still teased him about it whenever she could.

"Good morning, Mrs. Wei," Calix returned Mrs. Wei’s greeting. Smiling politely, he introduced Leslie and Calliope to her, "This is my wife and daughter. As I’ve mentioned before, we’re looking to customize some dresses for them."

Calix personally called Lavender Thread a few days ago, talking directly to Mrs. Wei. He relayed his wish to bring Leslie and Calliope there.

Leslie picked Lavender Thread when Calix suggested getting the dresses for the banquet. He brought up several more luxurious brands but, she insisted on going there.

"Hello, Mrs. Wei," Leslie smiled at the manager, greeting Mrs. Wei politely, "I’ve been wanting to come here. My husband often got me clothes from Lavender Thread. I adore them so much."

Leslie was telling the truth.

Among the many outfits Calix bought for her, whether indoor or outdoor clothes, most of them came from Lavender Thread. Leslie still cherished the dresses he gifted her before their trip to Rome.

"It’s our honor to provide you with our best design and craftmanship," Mrs. Wei’s eyes glinted as she assessed the dress worn by Leslie, "You even came here by wearing one of our limited dresses for autumn."

Leslie looked down at her pastel yellow midi dress, paired with a light cream jacket. Chuckles slipped out of her lips as she nodded.

"I shall lead you to our dressing room," Mrs. Wei gestured in a direction, "Mrs. Xu and Little Miss Xu, you may browse the catalogs while discussing with our designers. Please, follow me."

The other salespersons dispersed as Mrs. Wei led the family of three to one of the private dressing rooms. The boutique was empty of other patrons, only having the staff.

Calliope went ’ohhh’ and ’ahhh’ looking around the purple-themed boutique. She loved being carried around by her papa because she could see better from this higher angle.

As Calix and Leslie followed Mrs. Wei from behind, she tugged at his elbow. He raised his brows, looking at his smiling wife.

Leslie tilted up her chin, putting one hand over her face as she whispered to Calix, "CEO Xu, is the store empty because you asked for absolute privacy, en?"

Blinking, Calix quickly bit his lower lip, holding back from laughing out loud. He understood full well what Leslie had just implied.

Once again she was thinking about the domineering CEO male leads she saw in the dramas. Did this mean he should play his role like that?

"Should I do that, my love?" Calix arched his brows, mirthfully teasing Leslie, "Order the store not allowing any other customers to come in when we’re shopping?"

Leslie shook her head. A playful smile hung on her lips as she quickly added, "I don’t want that. Instead, let me swipe your black card today, okay?"

Leslie lamented her fate of not getting the chance yet. She had seen and touched the sleek black card but, she hadn’t used it.

Helplessness flooded Calix’s heart. Trying to laugh with as little noise as possible, Calix looked at Leslie lovingly.

"You may swipe it as much as you like, sweetheart. Don’t bother looking at any price tags."

"Hehehe~ I won’t think twice ah."

The husband and wife might speak in lower tones but, bits of their conversation still reached Mrs. Wei. Her smile deepened as cash signs flickered in her eyes.

Ohhh!

Did this mean Mrs. Xu might spend more than thousands on their store?

They shouldn’t let go of this chance!
