Chapter 466: Red Petals Lining the Hallway
Calix’s breath almost hitched upon discerning the desire in Leslie’s voice. Despite longing for this moment to come, her health and willingness were his topmost priority.
Locking his eyes into hers, Calix’s heart was tinged with regret. He wondered if he actually pushed Leslie too soon.
"Sweetheart, are you sure?"
Calix’s voice was tender as ever yet, worry and hesitation lacing his tone. The months of watching Leslie being in pain due to her lack of strength and bad health still weighed heavily in his mind.
Soft chuckles escaped Leslie’s lips, followed by a helpless smile. Delight swelled her heart as she was basked under Calix’s genuine concern.
"Are you backing away now?" asked Leslie teasingly. Grasping one side of Calix’s face, she whispered, "Honey, I want you tonight. And... Dr. Mo said I’m ready."
Leslie knew Calix was in constant contact with Dr. Mo. The doctor had reassured her that her body was ready. She—and Calix—just needed to be careful.
Silence enveloped the lovers as they took in each other’s countenances.
The waves rolled steadily against the shore, weaving a peaceful rhythm. The melody mirrored the calm but emotional undercurrent between the lovers.
Calix studied Leslie’s face, trying to find even the slightest hint of unwillingness but, he found none. Her touch on his face carried the weight of her reassurance.
Placing his palm on the back of Leslie’s hand, Calix nodded softly. The tension seemed to melt away the longer he was drawn into her gentle gaze.
"Let’s have a memorable night, sweetheart."
Another chuckle slipped out from Leslie’s mouth. Tilting up her chin, she grazed her lips against Calix’s, gently teasing him.
Calix returned the kiss with the same gentle one. Carrying Leslie’s frame in his arms, he carefully lifted her. The soft glow of the lights around them brightened their smiles.
With steady steps, Calix brought Leslie inside the hut. He didn’t forget to lock the door, ensuring absolute privacy for each other.
"Wow~ So romantic."
Leslie was awestruck by the view inside the hut. Her remarks earned a chuckle from Calix.
The walls were draped with more fairy lights while the main lights shone brightly from the ceiling. The rustic allure of the wooden hut charmed her heart, including the floral decorations.
Red petals of roses lined the corridor, leading further down the hallway to a room. The sight of the closed door made Leslie’s heart thump in excitement.
"The bedroom will be more romantic," Calix dipped his head in, kissing one side of Leslie’s face, "I hope you’ll have a pleasant time, my love."
Leslie’s cheeks reddened, resembling the rose petals. Smiling shyly at Calix, she whispered, "You should have a pleasant time too, honey."
Throaty chuckles escaped Calix’s lips. His gaze, despite looking gentle as usual, showed hints of the desire he had been holding back all this time.
Carrying Leslie in his arms, Calix walked down the hallway. He paused in front of the door, once again smiling at his beloved before he pushed the wooden panel open.
Leslie unconsciously held her breath once she saw the interior of the bedroom.
Fresh roses adorned a few vases, spreading their sweet fragrance in the air. Strings of fairy lights were draped horizontally on the canopy bed’s roof.
Instead of on the bed, the red petals formed a few shapes of hearts on the floor.
Calix sensed the quick beating of Leslie’s heart. He repeatedly reminded himself to let her savor the moment instead of rushing anything.
Calix lowered himself on the bed with Leslie sitting on his lap. A smile was drawn on his lips upon seeing the bashful glint in her eyes.
Gently gripping her chin, he whispered ever so tenderly, "May I kiss you, my love?"
Blinking, Leslie nodded. She unconsciously tightened her grasp on the front of Calix’s shirt.
With his eyes half-lidded, Calix closed in the space between them, taking Leslie’s lips in his. He started small, nibbling her lower lip before gently prodding into her mouth.
Leslie slowly released the lingering tension from her heart as she followed Calix’s guidance.
The sweet taste of wine on his tongue, the warmth of his palm securing her back and the little touches made her melt in his arms.
When Leslie realized it, Calix had already laid her on the bed. Her hazy eyes saw the disheveled state of his hair, including the crumples on the front of his shirt.
Oh... She forgot that she ran her fingers through her hair as their kiss deepened earlier.
Towering over Leslie, Calix quietly took in her alluring appearance. Her luscious locks spread unevenly on the white sheet, her eyes glazed with unbridled passion lurking underneath.
Leslie’s flowy skirt slid on her legs, revealing her soft skin to Calix. Placing one palm under her right thigh, he returned his lips to hers before they brushed on every part of her exposed skin.
Her forehead, both of her cheeks, the crook of her neck, her collarbones, her round shoulders — he left a heated trail of kisses.
With each of his movements, her lips barely held back her soft moans. Her skin tingled with every one of his touch.
Through the gaze veiled with desire, Leslie watched Calix moving further down. She bit her lower lip when he left a long and heated kiss on her left knee.
His eyes, darkening with lust, seemed to seize her up. This was a side she hadn’t seen on him before.
Or, to be exact... he restrained himself up until now, afraid of scaring her.
Keeping his lips on her left knee, Calix whispered, his tone growing huskier, "Shall I stop, my love?"
Leslie blinked slowly, aware that a part of Calix was still worried about her. His earnest consideration touched her heart, brushing the apex softly like a feather.
Propping herself to sit up, she held his collar before bringing their lips together. He froze for a second before catching the meaning behind her action.
Her answer was clear. She wished to continue.
Exhaling a long breath, Calix leaned his forehead on Leslie’s. Their fingers interlinked together, seeping each other’s warmth under their skin.
Leslie looked at Calix. She just knew the intense passion in his eyes mirrored her own. With her cheeks blushing, she raised her right hand, reaching for the buttons on his shirt.
Calix chuckled seeing Leslie’s shivering fingers. Wrapping one of his hands around her waist, he held her right hand, hoping to alleviate her nervousness.
"Relax, my love," Calix crooned, his lips curling into an easy smile, "We’ll take this slow, en?"
A deeper shade of red tinged Leslie’s cheeks. Despite feeling self conscious about her actions, she didn’t back away.
One by one, she unfastened the buttons before her trembling hand pulled one side down his shoulders.
Blinking, Leslie hovered her fingers on the scar across Calix’s chest. She had never brought it up but, the sight of the jagged scar pierced her heart.
Leslie didn’t sense Calix’s eyes following his movement. Enveloping the hand that was grazing on his chest, he gave her a gentle squeeze.
"I’m fine, sweetheart," uttered Calix with a hint of a smile in his voice, "It doesn’t hurt anymore."
Both the scar and the memory; they hurt him no more.
Leslie curled up her lips, discerning peace from Calix’s tone. Lifting her chin, she looked into his eyes.
"I love you, Calix."
His heart melting into a puddle, Calix whispered, "I love you too, Leslie."
Their lips found one another, Calix slowly lowered Leslie again to the mattress, his hands unfastening the dress draped on her frame.
Until nothing was left.
Kissing her knuckles softly, he admired the alluring view of his goddess lying underneath him.
The soft lights cast a warm glow on her frame, highlighting her curves and hiding nothing from his gaze. His heartbeat quickened as he savored the intimate moment with her.
"My love," Calix brushed his lips on the palm of Leslie’s hand, his voice barely a whisper, "You’re precious to me. I only want to treat you well so... if you feel hurt or just want me to stop, please say it."
No matter what, he placed her wishes above his own.
Feeling touched all over, Leslie’s eyes twinkled with soft lights. Calix had never made her feel unsafe. His gentle and constant reassurance was like a soothing melody to her heart.
"Aren’t you going to give me a memorable night?" Leslie arched her brows, intentionally trailing her fingers on Calix’s broad chest, "Give it to me, honey."
Calix raised his brows in amusement. Closing in the distance between them, he whispered by Leslie’s left ear, "As you wish, milady."
