Chapter 285: Our Little Miss is Here!

Chapter 285: Our Little Miss is Here!

Calliope’s excitement and curiosity didn’t end in the private flight. The little one was amazed by how big Silvercrest City looked from the sky, the same way she felt when seeing Bridgeland City more than an hour ago.

"Where Papa and Mama’s house? Where?"

"Wow~ Look at that building! Look like a pineapple ah!"

"So tiny! The cars so tiny like ants!"

Calix was amused by how much energy Calliope had while Leslie simply enjoyed the moment. Their daughter showed no signs of drowsiness despite having quite an adventure on the private flight.

In less than half an hour after landing, the family of three went to the van that came to pick them up. Edward tagged along as he needed to meet Calix as soon as the latter landed.

Andrian did a good job holding fort at Xu International but, Edward still had a few things to directly report to Calix. Instead of simply waiting at the villa, he went to the airport.

Well, his uncle and aunt also told him to go and fetch his boss after the latter’s few days of absence ah.

Mrs. Su helped Leslie enter the vehicle while Calix and Calliope were still outside. Edward greeted him before losing his focus to the little girl sitting on his boss’ arm.

Wow... His boss looked a bit unfamiliar to him ah. Was this really his boss? He had a fatherly vibe coming from him instead of the grumpy and eccentric boss at the office.

Edward openly gazed at Calix who carried Calliope with one hand. Half of the little girl’s face was obscured by the pink bucket hat. She seemed comfortable nestling on the man’s chest. Her short legs dangled in the air.

"What?" Calix raised one brow, staring displeasingly at Edward, "Your eyes are full of judgment ah. Spare my precious daughter any of your glances."

Edward grinned, "Boss, you look so experienced ah. Wow~ our Boss Xu now is the epitome of a good father."

Calix clicked his tongue. Edward annoyed him as soon as they met. He refrained the urge from smacking the younger man’s back.

Ignoring Calix’s clear displeasure in his eyes, Edward shifted his focus to Calliope. The little girl was also looking at him as if she was curious about his identity.

"Mister, who are you?" asked Calliope after pondering for a moment.

This man called her Papa his boss ah. One of Papa’s staff? Like that Uncle Logan?

Calliope’s simple question earned a chuckle from Edward. He placed his right palm on his left chest before introducing himself.

"Hello, Little Miss Xu. It’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Edward Zhang. I’m CEO Xu’s chief assistant."

Calliope blinked, confusion fleeting in her round eyes. Pointing to herself, she asked, "Little miss? Who? Poppy?"

"Yes," Edward nodded, keeping his shoulders straight, "People will address you like that, Little Miss Xu. Or, do you like Miss Calliope more?"

So far, only Amelia had been called Little Miss Xu from the main Xu family branch. With Calliope’s presence and as the older one, she should be addressed as First Little Miss Xu while Amelia donning Second Little Miss Xu.

The titles were just a formality. The main Xu family didn’t care much about them. Even the staff mostly used a less formal way to address the family members.

"Poppy," Calliope corrected Edward, shaking her small head slightly, "Call me Poppy, Mister Assistant."

"Hehe, you may call me Edward, Miss Poppy," replied Edward, thinking it was fun talking to the little girl while his boss continued watching in disapproval.

What? Did his boss think anyone would rob his daughter of him?

Tsk tsk. Look at how his brows twitched.

"Okay, Mister Edward," Calliope agreed. She nodded twice, her lips blossoming into a smile, "It’s nice to meet you too."

Edward grinned, sensing how irked Calix had been. He had never expected to witness such a scene to happen so soon.

Seemed like Boss Xu had turned into a daughter’s fool now ah.

Soon, people would start hearing about the sudden appearance of CEO Xu’s five-year-old daughter. They should not run their mouths talking senselessly about her unless they were eager to receive the man’s outrage.

In less than ten minutes, all of the vans began to leave the airport. The ride was quite smooth.

Calix and his entourage arrived at Graceville Manor at a quarter to one in the afternoon. Edward joined the same van as his boss.

"Poppy, welcome to your new home!" Calix gestured toward the windows, pointing at the three-story mansion.

"Yay!" Leslie clapped her hands, happily welcoming Calliope to Graceville Manor.

"Wow~ Papa and Mama’s home is so big!"

Calliope struggled in the child’s car seat, wanting to see the manor closer. Calix and Leslie chuckled, joyful to see how excited their daughter was.

"Oh? There are people."

Calliope’s remark brought Calix and Leslie’s attention to a pair of spouses waiting at the front porch.

"That’s Mr. Raymond and Mrs. Wendy Zhang who works here," Calix introduced the middle-aged man and woman to Calliope. He glanced at Edward, "They’re husband and wife. Mister Edward is their nephew."

"Oh~"

Two vans moved toward the enclosed garage on one side of the manor. They were occupied by the staff.

The other van headed to the front porch before pulling over there. Aunt Wendy and Uncle Raymond curiously looked at the van.

Edward slid the door open from the inside, being the first to come out.

"Uncle, Aunt, are you that excited ah?" asked Edward teasingly. He glanced toward the van, "Our little miss is inside."

"Oh? She’s here?" whispered Uncle Raymond, his eyes widening, "Our little miss is here!"

"Hey, behave ah."

Aunt Wendy playfully smacked Uncle Raymond’s arm, earning sheepish laughter from her husband. They couldn’t look away from the open door.

The husband and wife had been waiting for this moment from the time they learned about their master and mistress’ long-lost child.

With a push of a button, the ramp was automatically extended and set on the ground. Leslie and Mrs. An appeared first as the latter helped the younger lady out of the van.

"Mrs. Leslie, welcome back!"

"Hehe, thank you..." Leslie raised her brows, jokingly asking the spouses, "Aunt Wendy, Uncle Raymond... aren’t you more excited to see... our daughter?"

Leslie had already witnessed the short playful scene between the spouses and their nephew. She could tell the couple was anticipating meeting Calliope.

"How could we not ah? We’ve prepared some food for you all, Mrs. Leslie," replied Aunt Wendy, her whole face beaming.

"Our daughter is here!"

Calix’s voice attracted everyone’s attention. Five pairs of eyes looked in the direction of the open door.

The man’s tall figure emerged from the black executive van, carrying a small child in a light blue dress. The little girl hugged a red crochet fox toy.

"Hello, everyone. Meet Calliope Xu here," announced Calix. He fondly smiled at Calliope whose eyes brimming with curiosity.

Calliope waved one of her little hands, grinning, "Hello~ My name is Poppy. And this is Mimo!"

Hearts twinkled in Aunt Wendy and Uncle Raymond’s eyes as soon as they saw the adorable bun.
