When the Wild Beast is Trapped in the Nightmare Cycle (BL)
Chapter 232: To Be A Responsible Gong

Chapter 232: To Be A Responsible Gong

"Hurry!" Jin Jiuchi urged in haste while glancing at the door every now and then, as if someone were out there after his life. "I have to learn it before Nian’er wakes up!"

"Wait, wait a moment. What are you..." It took a few seconds for Gu Luoxin’s sleep-fogged mind to process what Jin Jiuchi was saying, and then he was struck by a surge of disbelief. No, how could that be possible? Jin Jiuchi couldn’t have barged into his room, at this unearthly hour when everyone was supposed to be deep in slumber, just for... that? Rubbing his eyes, he sat up and switched on the nightstand lamp, bathing the room in a warm golden glow. "Excuse me but," he suddenly used a formal tone for some unknown reason. "Are you referring to... the material we discussed in the Cycle?"

Jin Jiuchi shot him a quiet glare, "Don’t tell me you’re going back on your words!"

So he had really rushed all the way here just to get those spicy manhwas! Gu Luoxin did not know whether to laugh or cry. He should have known not to apply logic when it came to Jin Jiuchi, what did he even expect in the first place? But seriously, to ask about them in the hospital, of all places?

Under the weight of Jin Jiuchi’s glare, Gu Luoxin finally delivered the bad news. "I can’t give them to you now."

"Why?!" Jin Jiuchi demanded with a tone as if the world was coming to an end in five seconds.

Why? He was still asking why?! Perhaps it was because Gu Luoxin was not the type to carry around explicit manhwas whenever he went?! Alas, he dared not reply in such a sarcastic tone lest he would be hurled out of the window in the heat of the moment. This was the fifth floor, for God’s sake!

With an expression as if he wanted to cry but had no tears, Gu Luoxin explained with extreme cautiousness, "They’re all in my dorm, so if you want them, we will have to leave the hospital first. Moreover, they’re not something you can finish in an hour. I don’t mind lending them to you for a few days, as long as you don’t damage them." Gu Luoxin couldn’t help but pat himself on the back proudly. As a good bro, it was his responsibility to help a fellow in need! What a meritorious service you have done there, Xinxin!

Jin Jiuchi was stumped, not expecting it to be so complicated. "I still need days to learn?" His brows furrowed in annoyance, but recalling something, he swallowed the complaints back to his throat and conceded with gritted teeth, "Fine! I will definitely learn it well! I don’t want to make Nian’er faint again..." a touch of sadness crossed his eyes. "It’s my fault. I was too rough and aggressive and..."

Gu Luoxin could no longer process the rest of Jin Jiuchi’s words, for his mind was working overdrive to conjure up a dozen of dog blood scenarios, one was more dramatic than the other.

He instantly flung his blanket away and leapt to his feet, "Da Shen, what have you done?!" The memory of Shen Nianzu’s frail and feeble state in the hospital came rushing to his mind, and he became convinced of his suspicion. Here he was wondering why Shen Nianzu’s condition had worsened without a warning, it turned out because he was tossed around by this beast as soon as he returned from the Cycle! The gaze he directed toward Jin Jiuchi was reproachful and faintly accusing, "Xiao Shen looks so delicate, you should never be rough and forceful with him! As a responsible gong, you have to ensure that he is comfortable first and foremost! Let’s go, let’s get discharged from the hospital. We need to go to my dorm— no, scratch that, let’s go to an internet cafe instead! I must give you an extensive lesson!"

There were so many words Gu Luoxin said that he had not heard of before, such as ’gong’ and ’internet cafe’, but Gu Luoxin’s momentum was so imposing that Jin Jiuchi’s dormant learning passion was reawakened. He declared with enthusiasm, "Let’s go go go!"

The two men, who were on different wavelengths altogether, swiftly came to a decision. They went to complete the discharge procedure and rushed to the nearest internet cafe that offered a private and soundproof room.

Hence, when Shen Nianzu stirred awake a few hours later, he was puzzled when he could not find any signs of the man he was looking for. Judging from how panicked Jin Jiuchi was, he had assumed the man would be by his side as soon as he opened his eyes. Feeling strange, he asked the nurse who attended to his IV drip, "Excuse me, the man who came with me last night – the tall one with black messy hair and silver eyes – has he not woken up yet?"

"Oh, him?" The nurse responded with a friendly smile. "He and the young man with a cyan hair clip left this morning a little past five. They left a note for you. Allow me a moment to retrieve it."

Jin Jiuchi and Gu Luoxin had left the hospital? At five in the morning? What for?? With doubt in mind, Shen Nianzu received the sticky note and saw two different scrawny scribbles on it.

[Nian’er, wait for me. I will return and become a responsible gong!]

[Xiao Shen, don’t worry. I will make sure to teach him well!]

The information contained in those two sentences was so overwhelming that Shen Nianzu was dumbstruck for a few seconds. When he finally processed the message, his face darkened with thunderous anger, "Where the hell are they now?!"

The perks of going to the internet cafe were many; it operated around the clock, offered a convenient food service with options like cup noodles and many other snacks, boasted private booths where they could discuss state secrets freely, and most importantly, it was affordable for a broke college student like Gu Luoxin! It was simply a paradise for all youngsters!

As the clock approached six in the morning, a time when most people were just stirring from their slumber, the two of them nestled in a private room with two cups of steaming instant noodles and iced lemon tea on the table before them.

Jin Jiuchi expressed boundless curiosity towards his surroundings, always sniffing here and there like a curious doggy who had just entered a new environment.

Meanwhile, Gu Luoxin sucked in a mouthful of iced lemon tea to boost his spirit. Clearing his throat, he put on a solemn look befitting that of a strict teacher, "Okay, spill. You must have been pretty rough to reduce a veteran player like Xiao Shen to such a state. Don’t tell me that you kept shoving it in without any techniques?" He cast Jin Jiuchi a suspicious look. There was no room for embarrassment here; spirit of learning was the first and foremost!

Jin Jiuchi blinked, "Shoving it... in?"

Gu Luoxin was miffed by his innocent eyes. "Duh, don’t give me that look! Don’t worry, your secrets are safe with me. We’re doing all this so that you can be a better boyfriend for Xiao Shen!"

Jin Jiuchi blinked again, then tilted his head with the same oblivious look on his face. "Boyfriend? Wait, it seems like I have heard of this word somewhere before..."

"Y–Y–You...!" Gu Luoxin was so shocked that he almost jumped to his feet, his suspicion escalating with the speed of a rocket. How could Jin Jiuchi be so clueless? He must be playing a trick on him, right? He did not know what a ’boyfriend’ was?! Wait a moment... if the two of them were really boyfriends, then what was the use of Jin Jiuchi asking him that kind of question in the Cycle?! Gu Luoxin gasped, feeling like he had glimpsed upon a terrifying secret. However, to confirm his conjecture, he still asked in a trembling voice, "You and Xiao Shen... aren’t you two in that kind of relationship? As in a couple..."

He waited for the answer with bated breath, only to hear Jin Jiuchi exclaim with an enlightened look,

"Oh, I know this one! Are you talking about the relationship between a master and a dog?" He hit his palm lightly. "I heard this from Nian’er. You’re right, it seems like we are really in that kind of relationship!"

Gu Luoxin froze. "...What?"
