Chapter 74: The Fire In Solaris...They Know...

She looked at everyone and saw that they were also not expecting what they heard from Ernie, minus Helion, who doesn’t have any emotions on his face.

"That must be the reason why the Abellarde’s pulled their people who were looking for you." He father said as he was looking at Helion.

"But why so sudden? We also saw her last time, and she was alright," Jarnus said as he looked so confused.

"That’s, we don’t know, Helion answered as he looked at Jarnus.

Acantha looked at Flamear, who seemed to be quiet.

"What’s wrong, Flamear?" Acantha asked as she looked at him, who was looking at the outside.

"I was thinking," Flamear said as he was still looking at there.

Acantha straightened her back. "What was it?" She asked, and she saw that the three men were already listening to them.

"There seems to be something wrong," Flamear said, which made her frown.

"Where? I mean with what?" Acantha said as she looked at him.

"The enemies shouldn’t have entered this place, as I put some ward in here, but why is there a fake Mildred? Unless..." Flamear said as he looked at them, who were frowning as they were all waiting for him to finish his word.

"Unless what?" Jarnus asked Flamear.

Acantha fell in a deep thought; there’s only some reasons why the fake Mildred can enter the Solaris duchy.

First, if they were already inside the place or someone let’s them in, which is for sure impossible, there were only three people who could let them in or give some permission to be inside.

And second, if they were an allied house of the Solaris, which her father gave to all his subordonates.

Third, if that person was already here before the ban was even made, which is the most possible way as people who were working inside the Duchy were allowed to go in and out.

"I was thinking that maybe the fake Mildred has been here with us for quite some time since you got here," Flamear said as he looked at her.

"And what’s bothering me is it seems like there are two Mildred’s sometimes," Flamear continued as he went back to his smaller appearance and jumped to the sofa where she was sitting.

"There was also something wrong about the Mildred who was with us," Acantha said as she looked at Flamear.

"I have been observing her, and she seems to be avoiding helping me when I’m dressing."

"Ahhm." She looked when she heard her father and Helion cough.

"I was guessing that this Mildred might be a man," Acantha said as she continued what she was saying.

She saw Helion was about to say something when suddenly they heard a knock from the door.

Acantha saw Fabian enter, and he looks like he was from a battle base on his face.

"Your grace," Fabian greeted her father. "Your Highness, Lady Acantha," he said as he turned to them.

Acantha observed his face, and he looks like he was worried, but at the same time he looks like he was ready to kill someone.

"There -" Before Fabian could even finish his sentence, suddenly they heard a loud noise, and there they saw from afar, where the main house is, that there was some smoke coming from that direction.

Acantha didn’t waste her time as she pulled Flamear, and they teleported themselves to the house.

There she saw their servant, who was panicking.

"What happened?" she asked one of them.

"L-lady Acantha," the maid said as she was shaking. "There was an explosion from your room," she continued, which made Acantha look around.

"Where’s Mildred? Did you see her?" She asked, and she felt that her father was already there with Jarnus and Helion.

"I saw here there awhile ago, Lady Acanta. Oh, no, she was in your bedroom when it happened. " The other maid said as she was covering her mouth.

Shit..

It seems like that fake person already knew that she knew that she was fake.

Acantha went to her father, who was busy trying to talk to the other people there. "Father," she said as she looked at him.

"It seems like she or he, whatever that person is, knew already that we knew that she or he was not the real Mildred," Acantha said as she gripped her hands in anger.

She was mad, as it would only make Mildred more in danger.

Too bad for that copycat; she already outsmarted that person.

She put some fake book there that was the same booked as she has.

That person might think she got what she needed, and since they already knew she was fake, she will make her death also a fake one.

"When did you do it?" Acantha heard Flamear say on her side as he was looking at her.

"This morning, while she left me to take a bath, you were not there. I had noticed that some of my things sometimes were messy, and I knew for sure that she was looking for the bokk," Acantha said as she looked at Flamear, who was surprised at what she said.

"Did she get the book?" Flamear asked worriedly.

Acantha summoned the book in her hand. "Have you forgotten, Flamear?" She asked as she raised her brows at him.

"I can hide the book and summon it here whenever I want, as it only answers to me as I was it’s owner, "she said as she summoned the book.

"Is that the book you got from the east?" She heard the duke say it from her behind as he was looking at the book that was in her hand.

Acantha nodded to answer his question; she looked again at the house and saw that the fire was still there.

She lifts her hand to make the fire stop, which she did.

"Acantha!" She heard someone say it from her back and saw that it was Evander who was running.

"What are you doing here?" She asked as she observed his appearance; he might have been running as his hair was messy.

"I heard that there was a fire here." Evander said as he looked around, and his eyes widen when he sees that the fire is already gone.

Acantha raises her brows as to why he knew about it. Surely it wasn’t still spreading across the empire, as it just happened now.

"How did you know?" She asked as she took a step closer to him, which made him take a step back.

She saw that his eyes became uneasy, and he was sweating, and beside his look, he was even surprised at his stupidity.

She was about to take a step back when the wind suddenly blew, and she smelled a familiar scent.

Damned it!

This is confirmed.

That’s why Evander was missing, not because he was in the magic tower asking the thing she asked him.

He was here with her as Mildred.

"What’s wrong?" She heard him say as he was looking at her and who seemed to be talking to her.

"What was it?" She asked as she looked at him.

"I said I was about to come here when suddenly I saw some of your servants fleeing away and said that there was fire in here, so I rushed," he said as he smiled at her innocently.

"Ahh," she said as she looked at him and nodded. Stil, she wasn’t buying those excuses that he has.

"Is that the crown prince with the duke?" She heard him ask her as she pointed something from not so far from where they are.

"What is he doing here? I heard from my father that there was huge commotion in the palace as they said that the crown prince disappeared when he was supposed to go to the Abellarde’s." She heard him continue.

"He was just here as he had something to talk to Father," Acantha said, as she just cannot say that Helion was here the whole time he had been missing.

Evander just nodded at her when she said those.

Acantha examined Evander, and she noticed something was stuck in the pocket of his clothes, and she could feel her power on that thing, which supports more her confirmation that Evander was the fake Mildred all along.

She can’t believe it, still.

She trusted him, and even trusted something she didn’t tell anyone, and yet here he was.

Acantha was wondering why he did all these things, as she didn’t know that she did anything bad to him.

"Oh, you’re here, Evander." She turned around and saw that her father was already beside her.

"Your Grace," Evander said as he gave a little bow to the duke, and Acantha saw he looked behind her father, and "Your Highness," she heard him say as she bowed to give respect to Helion, who was looking at Evander suspiciously.

"What are you doing here?"The duke asked Evander, just like her, he must be wondering why he was here.

"I was on my way here when I saw one of your servants running while screaming that there was a fire." She heard him say and even saw him smile at his father.

"AHH," the Duke said as he nodded his head, and he turned his head around and looked at her like he was asking something, but Acantha’s face remained emotionless as she knew that Evander might suspect more if she made any small mistake.

Somewhere~~~

"What are you doing here?" the woman asked when the door suddenly opened and he was there.

"Why am I not allowed here anymore?" The man asked as he looked at the woman with longing in his eyes.

"You knew that if anyone finds out about us, we will be doomed," the woman said as she looked at him.

"You knew I was never scared of anyone or anything; it was you who keeps on running away from me, from us." The man said as he took some steps to where the woman was, and when he reached her, he caressed her face with hands.

"I knew you were having a hard time with that man; leave him and be with us." the man said as he started caressing the woman down to her neck, and he leans at her.

He put his head on her while he was smelling her.

The woman can feel some tingling sensation on her stomach, and when the man kissed her on her neck and bit her soft flesh there, she moaned in pleasure.

"You always knew that you have us." The man whispered as he kept on giving her some wet kisses on her neck.

"You know I can’t." The woman said and moaned when the man’s hand travels on her body.

"You can; you can leave your daughter and husband for us." The man said as he reached below her the skirt of her dress, which made her stiffened.

It feels like cold water was poured all over her.

"Stop". She said as she pushed the man away from her.

No matter how much she hates her husband, she can’t leave her daughter, like what she did to their son.

The man looked at her and smirked as he wiped his lips.

"I know you still feel something for me; why not leave that bastard and be with us?" The man said, and she could feel the anger in his voice when he said those words.

"You know why I can’t." The woman said as she fixed her clothes, and she took a last glance at the man before she left the place while sighing.
