Helion called Jarnus as he smelled something from the tea that his mother gave him. "Try to see if there is something with this tea," Helion said as he handed the cup to him.

Jarnus smelled the tea first before he put it in some container, and he could sense that something was really wrong with its smell.

"The Abellarde’s sent those teas for as a gift for my mother," Helion said as he gripped the pen he was using awhile ago.

"This is a familiar sent." Jarnu said as he looked at him.

"Gather all those teas that were still there in the kitchen and tell the Empress personal maid not to say about this." Helion said as he dismissed Jarnus.

If his hunches were real, then he would do everything to punish them.

Acantha was tired the whole day as she finished helping those people who needed her help.

She was still anticipating seeing Evander, as he said he would help her when she gives her letter to ask an apology. Evander told her that he would help her; that’s why she waited, as she wanted to ask him something.

She wanted to fight the sleepiness, but it seems like she was weak and just succumbed to it.

Acantha didn’t know how long she had been asleep when she just woke up and sat on her bed. She looked at her balcony that was still open, and there she saw the moon. It seems like she had been asleep for hours.

She was startled when suddenly she heard some knocks on her door.

"Come in," she said as she stretched her arms.

"My lady," Acantha turned around and saw Mildred holding her food. She forgot she still hadn’t eaten her dinner yet. "The duke was worried that you still haven’t eaten your dinner yet, and you use all your energy today," Mildred said as she put the food on her bed as Acantha got up to eat the food that Mildred brought.

"When did Father arrive?" She said she didn’t get to see the time as she fell asleep after she finished helping those people.

"The duke arrived just after you had fallen asleep; also, there was a letter from Lord Evander; he said he was apologizing for not getting here as he had some things that he needed to do," Mildred said as she handed her the letter.

Acantha just nodded at her. "Just put this one there; I’ll eat first, she said as she got the food and went to the small table and chair in her bedroom.

She didn’t know that many people would come today, and Acantha thinks she might overuse her body, as she just fell asleep after she finished helping them.

Mildred left the room, and Acantha starts eating her food.

She was near to finish her food when suddenly Flamear went near her and shifted to a smaller size as he occupied the other chair.

"The duke talked to me last time." Flamear starts as she told him to report everything to her.

"What was it?" Acantha said as she wiped her mouth using the table napkin.

"The duke said that the Empress must be brainwashed," Flamear continued as he looked at her.

"How can he say?" Acantha asked as she looked at Flamear, who was also looking at her.

"The Emperor told him in the letter that the Empress seems to be not herself these past few weeks," Flamear continued as he looked at her.

"Is that where he was going? Is he meeting with the emperor?" Acantha after she drinks some water.

Flamer shook his head. "They only met after he read the letter," Flamear said as he looked at the moon that could be seen from her balcony.

"And who do they think did that to the Empress?" Acantha asked; Flamear was about to answer when suddenly Mildred entered the room.

"I’ll get this, Lady, and I already prepared your bath when I entered her awhile ago, she said as she looked at her.

"Thank you, Mildred." She said as she looked at her, Mildred looked at Flamear and back to her.

"What was that again?" Acantha asked as she looked at Flamear, who was still looking at where Mildred went out.

"Does Mildred have some twins?"Flamear asked, which made her frown at him

"No, why do you ask?" Acantha said as she asked Flamear, who seems to be thinking about something.

"Don’t tell me you doubt her." Mildred served this family for a long time when my father married my mother." Acantha said as she looked at Flamear.

"Not that I doubt her; I’ve seen and been with Mildred for many days, and even when I’m unconscious." Flamear as he looks above the ceiling. "It’s just that I saw her there awhile, and suddenly she was here." Flamear pointed to the garden, and Acantha looked at the garden and saw nothing.

Acantha didn’t have much sleep that night, as she was still thinking about what Flamear noticed.

"You haven’t got any sleep?"Flamear said as she glared at him.

"Just be vigilant; don’t trust people too much." Flamear said as he looked at her and then turned his back and went back to sleep again.

Flamear looked at her and glared. "Divine beasts also need their sleep," he said, snuggling himself on his own pillow.

Acantha sighed as she looked at his deep breath, which is a sign that he was already sleeping.

She looked at the window and saw that there were already some birds chirping and palying there.

Acantha went to her bathroom and took a quick bath.

She went to the dining room in hope of joining the duke, which she successfully did, as the duke was still there waiting for her to come.

"Father, have you stopped your independence now?" Acantha asked, as she hadn’t heard about what was going on in their empire.

"No, it was still going on," the duke replied as he was reading something that made her frown.

Acantha did say anything else to avoid telling him that she knew about him and the Emperor and that they were investigating something.

She looked around to see if Mildred was there, but she hadn’t even seen her, even when it was already lunchtime.

Acantha spent her day reading some books at her library, and still there were no signs of Mildred around the duchy.

She went back to her room and went to Flamear, who was now awake.

"Can you see Mildred?" Acantha asked Flamear, as she wanted to know if she could see where she was.

Flamear nodded and showed her what he was seeing. There she saw Mildred was in the market and went to a place that she didn’t recognize. There they saw that she was meeting with someone.

"What is she doing there?" Acantha whispered as she saw that after the man and Mildred talked, she left the place and was even looking at her surroundings as if she were trying not to be caught or seen by someone else.

Acantha looked puzzled. Is this what she was doing behind their back? Is she going to betray them? She was really confused, as she trusted her too much and even saw her as her closest friend, as someone who was near to being her mother, as she was the only person who knew about her while she was still in her womb.

Acantha felt weak at the thought of being betrayed by someone she trusted too much, as she had been there.

Flamear looked at her, and when he saw that, tears were starting to fall from her eyes.

She looked at her side when she remembered something.

She saw Mildred giving some jars to that man!
