Acantha and the boy, who she still hasn’t asked the name of, got off the carriage, and they saw a big, tall wall.

"Is this where they took your mother?" Acantha asked the boy, and the latter nodded at her.

"What’s your and your mother’s name again?" Acantha continued to ask as they were walking near the gate of the place.

"My name is Benedict, and my mother’s name is Beth." The boy answered as he looked at her innocently, but Acantha saw worries and fear in his eyes.

"Alright, Benny, Let’s find your mother," Acantha said when they finally reached the gate.

She saw that the place was guarded very well. "You can’t go in," one of the knights who was guarding the place said as he stopped her from entering the place.

Acantha glared at the guard, but she remembered that they are the ones who need something from them. She sighed as she looked at the guard again.

"Just let us in, okay?" Acantha said politely as she was trying to be polite at them.

"No, Lady. This place is dangerous for you and the boy." The guard continued as he looked at Benedict, who was still holding her hand.

Acantha knew that the knight was only concerned about them, as the disease that was spreading all over the capital was really bad.

"Just please, this boy needed to see his mother," Acantha never begged, but for this boy who was now sobbing behind her, she will lower her pride.

"Lady Acantha, is that you?" She heard someone, and Acantha turned to see it was Jarnus.

"Jarnus," she said as she looked at him, who looked confused as to why she was there.

"Why are you here?" Jarnus asked as he frowned and with confusion all over his face, "We thought the duke didn’t allow you to get out of the Solaris Duchy?" He said as he looked at her, "Who is that?" He asked as he pointed to Benedict, who hides behind her.

"I just sneaked out, and this is Benedict. We were looking for his mother; he said she was taken here this morning," she said as she looked at the carriages behind him.

"Oh, this was from the noblemen who were sending some gifts and for Lady Noraya, as he and his highness were already inside," Jarnus said when he noticed that she was looking at the carriages behind him. Acantha can hint at the bitterness in his voice when he said those words.

"Gift? at this time?" She asked as she was confused as it was already evening, and besides, isn’t it to insensitive to send some gifts at this time when everyone who was inside the place was suffering with some kind of disease?

The place was really big; it took them almost ten minutes before they reached their destination, and from outside, Acantha can see something; from the outside, it was something dark, like there was a dark fog surrounding the area; she heard some screams.

Acantha looked at the boy beside her when she felt him grab her arms. "Are you scared?" She asks, and Acantha wanted to slap herself when she asked the kid like that.

Jarnus opened the door, and Acantha saw so many people running back and forth, and based on what they were wearing, they were the healers in here.

She looked around and saw that there were so many beds in the place; she thought it was only few people Why does it seem this place was full of people who seemed to be screaming?

"Your highness!" She heard Jarnus say as he walked in another direction, and there she saw Helion, who looked surprised, but he tried to hide it.

Helion walks to where she was after he talks to Jarnus, who just nodded and went to another part of the place.

"What are you doing here?" He asked, and when he noticed Benedict who was hiding again behind her, he frowned.

"Why is there a kid in here?" He asked as he looked at Benedict, who seemed to be scared.

"This is Benedict," she said as she introduced Benedict to Helion. "We were looking for his mother," Acantha said.

Before Helion could even answer, they heard a loud sound, which was followed by a loud scream.

"You shouldn’t be here. Now both of you can’t also get out of this place," he said as he ran towards where the sound came from.

Acantha takes Benedict with her, and they followed Helion. Her eyes widen as she notices a man, seemingly out of his mind, holding Noraya, who is wiggling and trying to break free from his grip.

"I will kill you; I will kill you." The man said as he was looking at Noraya, who was crying.

"Put her down," she heard Helion say, and Acantha’s brows raised as it looked like she was watching a live drama where the male lead was trying to save the female lead.

"Your Highness, he was out of his mind; he was just okay awhile ago when Lady Noraya was treating him," she heard Jarnus say as he looked at the man in front of them.

They heard another scream, and they saw that the other people who were inflected were all gone wild.

Acantha looked at behind her when she heard the female healer who was there mumbling something, and when Acantha looked, she saw that she was scratching her body and there was already some blood on her clothes.

The woman looked at her, and Acantha grabbed Benedict and used her power to shield them from the woman.

Acantha can feel that Benedict was trembling in fear. "Are you alright?" She asked as she turned around at him.

Benedict nodded as he was still trembling. Acantha turned to the woman again, who was still trying to break in from the shield she created.

She looked back to Helion again, who was still not trying to kill the man who was holding Noraya and was unaware of the danger she was in.

"I-I only tried to help him." She heard Noraya say, as she was still sobbing.

"It seems like Lady Noraya’s healing power isn’t working." She heard Jarnus say.

"My power is still working," she heard Noraya’s. Wow, she must have forgotten that she was still held captive by someone.

Acantha turns to her side again and uses her power to purify the dark fog that she was seeing in the woman’s body.

They all looked at her when they heard the sound from the fall, which was caused by the woman who was now on the floor.
