Chapter 57: An Empire Without The North, and The South, and East?

Chapter 57: An Empire Without The North, and The South, and East?

Acantha looked at her father when they arrived at their own home. They went straight to his office, and she sat in one of the chairs.

"Father, isn’t it impulsive to say those words to the Empress? And what about the Emperor? Isn’t he one of your closest friends?" Acantha said to her father as the latter poured some wine on his glass that was on his table.

"That wasn’t impulsive; I knew them when we were kids; Helena was even your mother’s closest friend, as the Klartis family rarely attends any ball." The duke said as he sipped on his glass.

"Besides, I don’t want her to treat you like that; you are a Solaris, as well as a Klartis, you came from; I just don’t like the way she insulted you just to favor the Abellardes. Now let us see how the Empire stands without our support," he said as he looked at his glass and played with the wine.

Acantha just shook her head to her father; it seems like the duke was angry at the Empress at the moment, but she thinks it was just petty, and besides, she can handle herself well.

Now, she was thinking what might happen if both houses were out of the empire’s grasp; she knew her father wouldn’t just be the south and the north; she was sure he would also make them lose the east, which his family owned a big territory too.

"The empress won’t stop siding with the Abellarde’s unless someone’s going to show her their true intentions, and besides, you don’t have to be worried about the emperor. " Her father continued.

"If we won’t stop them from leeching of the Imperial family," the duke said as he looked at her this time with anger in his eyes.

Acantha sighed; she knew about the Abellarde’s skeleton’s in their closet. "I just don’t want the people in this place to feel any suffering because of this," Acantha said as she looked at her father sadly.

"You don’t have to worry about that, trust me." Her father said as he looked at her tenderly.

Inside the Imperial Palace~~

The Emperor sighed when they were left by Helion.

"You should never have done that to, Lady Acantha." Emperor Dion said to her wife as he looked at her with disappointment in his eyes.

He knew she was longing for a daughter; that’s why she keeps on pushing their son to Lady Noraya, who won her favor.

Besides that, their long, long, way too long relative and his wife said that she saw that Noraya was a good woman for their kid.

But he knew his son, Helion, was just trying to ease his mother and let her do everything she had, but he knows that his son didn’t like Lady Noraya as a woman.

That’s why Dion didn’t make any official decree to make the Lady of Abellarde his son’s future wife, as he wanted him to find love just like he did.

"Are you going to lecture me, too?" His wife said as she looked at him in the eye.

Dion looked at behind her and saw that Lady Noraya was still there, but her attention wasn’t with them; instead, she was looking at the door where Helion went out.

He knew what the lady and his wife did to Lady Acantha, as he has his eyes everywhere; they sent her a letter, and his wife was even cheering for her to do it as she was rooting for them.

"I won’t lecture you; you’re old enough to know what is right and what is wrong," Dion said as he too walked out of the place, as he knew that his wife’s mind was close; mostly she was just listening to the lady and her father, which he didn’t like.

Helena was left speechless when her husband also went out from the door where her son first walked out; she didn’t know why they were even acting like that just because she told Lady Acantha about her behavior and what she heard from the Baron and Noraya.

What was so special about the girl because her son and husband walked out on her aside from being the daughters of both powerful houses?

She once had a high expectation from her as she was the daughter of Catanya, who was her closest friend, but all those expectations went downhill when she learned and heard some rumors about her, which she didn’t believe first, but when Noraya told her what she did to her at the jewelry store, she lost all hopes for her.

That’s why she let Noraya send some letters for her using her son’s seal to make her know her place and that she can’t just do anything for anybody.

And now, how can she make her family disappointed with her when she only said what she knew? Besides, she doesn’t want her son to be with her; she learned from the baron that the lady had numerous men at her disposal, and she didn’t want her son to be one of them.

She looked at behind her to see if Noraya was still there and there she saw that she was looking at the door, where her husband and son left.

"Are you okay, My Dear?" She said as she walks towards the girl and carried her hair.

Noraya looked at her; she did even flinch for a bit when she did that to her.

"I’m firne. Your Majesty," Noraya said to her as she smiled.

Now, this is the girl she wants for her son, a smart one who behaves properly and was kind enough to treat the whole empire from the epidemic that they once had in their kingdom.

But the kind Noraya lent them her abilities to cure those people who needed it.

She just hoped that her son and husband would see what she saw in her.

Helena sighed as Noraya guided her out of the place back to her room.

Acantha was looking outside her balcony when she remembered something: she needed to wake Flamear using that spell.

She went again to get booked and draw a circle and get a small knife.

She cuts her hand and lets the blood gush down to the circle; she also did to Flamear and starts saying the spell she had.

"Blood of My Blood, thy hear my plea, break the chain that I once made.

Loyal servant, accept your master’s blood; loyalty, trust, are bound; once a master calls it’s loyal servant, you shall hear my voice and open your eyes at my command."

Acantha looked at Flamear when suddenly there was a light coming shooting him.

She studied him first to see if what she did was right. She knew she did it right, but why isn’t Flamear waking up? Acantha looked at the book again as she flipped it; she read it again and saw that she did it right, just what she knew.

"Why does it seem like you were crying again?" Flamear said, Wait!

Acantah lifted her head and saw Flamear, who was now standing and was looking at her.

She runs to him and hugs him.

"Flamear.." She whispered as she hugs him tightly.

"Why are you crying? You should be smiling that I am awake again." Flamear said as he wiped her tears using his paw.

Acantha continued to embrace him, saying, "This is tears of joy, you idiot beast."

"Is everything alright now?" Flamear asked when she was now calm.

"No, we didn’t catch Abanoon’s disciple." Acantha said sadly as she looked at Flamear.

"But we got this book," she continued as she showed him the book, which she used to wake him up from his slumber.

"This is Solaia’s book; I mean, this is her diary," Flamear said, and he looked at her when he realized something.

"I’m sorry, I couldn’t tel-"

"No, I should be the one who should apologize for asking too much," Acantha said as she looked at him and apologized.

"I only knew about the taboo from Elida when we came back to the north again," Flamear said as he returned to being small again, just like he always did.

Acantha slept that night feeling that everything was going to be alright tomorrow.

Acantha woke feeling weird; she dreamed something about two women who were arguing; they were wearing clothes just like what she was wearing in her past life as Lucille.

The other was one who has short hair and was yelling to the other woman, who was wearing gloves and was trying to stop the woman from yelling.

She also saw how the short-haired woman was raising a knife against the other woman.

Acantha woke up when the other woman screamed.

It was just weird, as she hadn’t had any dream about the world she was once part of;

"My lady, have you heard the news already?" Mildred asked her when she went to the garden after she finished eating her breakfast.

The duke ate with her, but when he finished, he bid his goodbye to her and said he had some things to do.

"What was it?" She asked as she looked at the swans who were in the lake.

"That the South, East, and North will close it’s border for the people in the empire, and even the Solaris palace here in the capital won’t allow anyone to go in here? The duke already sent his men, and he went with Flamear this time to set some barriers.

So, that’s why Flamear was nowhere to be found after she looked at him when she finished eating her breakfast.

And damned, what would happen to everyone now? It seems like the duke was really powerful to have those three territories with him.

She looked at the sky when she saw a familiar bird, but it was stopped by something.

She sighed as she stood up and-
