Chapter 55: The Book, Back To Capital Again...

She opens the book, and suddenly there is a bright light that engulfs the whole room.

Acantha looked at the first page of the book, and there was a letter from the owner.

To the future owner of this book (my future self),

By the time you’ll read this one, I am sure that I was already dead for so long. I put some magic in this book to protect its contents. I was scared that Abanoon’s people might get hold of this. Abanoon’s people were still there, and I knew by this time we were both dead. I also know that they will try everything to bring her back; as I already saw in the future, they will succeed and the world will turn into turmoil and chaos.

There are many lives that will be taken, and there was no place in this place that I loved. That’s why I decided to make a hard decision.

I will sacrifice my life for the peace. Abanoon and I were twins; our lives are entangled with each other. If she dies, I will be dead too. I will be born again, but I will grow not in this world. I will endure the pain and suffering of being mortal, just like the other people.

But this world is not what everyone thinks; it’s more than that.

Acantha was startled when she suddenly heard some voices outside of her room. She puts the book on her bed below her pillow as she walks towards the door.

"Why does Lady Noraya keep sending his highness a letter?" Acantha heard someone say, and when she peeked, she saw that Ernie and Jarnus just arrived and setteled outside her door.

"Your mouth!" She saw how Jarnus slapped Ernie’s mouth to make him quiet.

"What?!" Ernie said as he pouted at Jarnus, who just glared at his friend.

"Lady Acantha was already sleeping," Jarnus said as he pointed her room’s door.

"She won’t hear us," Ernie said as he looked at her door.

"She will; you’re so loud!" Jarnus said as he raised his voice, and when he realized what he had done, he closed his mouth and glared at Ernie.

"Look who’s talking now," Ernie said at Jarnus as he smirked at him, which the latter gave him some knocks on his head.

"His highness was really good; he took the daughter of the coachman who was with us yesterday, and he brought her home. The man was really thankful that he wanted to kiss his highness’s feet," Ernie said, but this time there was no playfulness in his voice.

He did? When? They just got home today.

"I know, idiot, we were the ones who brought mana stones, which contain his highness’s warning to Count Di Sartin, who looks mad when we did, but also I can see he was scared when his highness started warning him," Jarnus said as he looked serious.

"Yes, that man was really vicious. Imagine not just one person he held captive in his house; he did even have some slaves that he bought at the blackmarket that he was a member of too." Ernie said as he looked mad at what he said.

"His highness already sent some letters to the palace, but instead of a reply from the emperor, we got this letter from Lady Noraya," Jarnus said as he sighed when he looked at the letter in his hand.

"Poor Lady Noraya, His highness didn’t even read the letter when he heard that it was from Lady Noraya with the empress seal, " Ernie said as he looked Jarnus’s hand to see where the letter was.

"Why would the impress still insist on His Highness marrying her? Her father was also doing a lot of bad things in here," Ernie continued as he looked at the cieling.

"Have you forgotten? Lady Noraya was the one who helped the Empire when there was an epidemic here," Jarnus said as he looked at Cieling too.

"But she didn’t help them for free; her father got so much money that time, and they even demanded some land from people who were seeking help." Ernie said as he looked at Jarnus and frowned.

"Didn’t she refuse to cure your mother when she was infected with the virus that time?" Ernie continued as he looked at Jarnus, and Acantha saw the anger in his eyes.

"I still haven forgotten about it; that’s why I will always be thankful to his highness," Jarnus said as he looked at the door again.

Acantha didn’t know why she stayed and listened to their conversation, in which she learned something about the epidemic where Noraya was even called a saint for what she did, and then she will learn that she earned a lot of money from curing those people?

She heard that many people died during the time; this must be the reason why.

Acantha walks back to her bed and sleeps.

-------------------

They all woke up early that morning as they were going back to the capital. She had read the book, and she learned how to make Flamear wake up from sleeping.

What she needs is to do it alone, where no one can learn about what she will do to wake Flamear.

"Is everything ready?" Helion asked them as they were getting ready to use the mana stones to travel.

She nodded at him, and he turned to Jarnus and the other knights.

Helion will leave some of the knights as they needed to see whether count Di Sartin will make some move again against the people who turned him in.

Acantha saw the knights nod at him, and he went to where she was.

She saw that he pulled a mana stone and said something on it, and the stones lit and Helion threw it on the ground, which made a big path for them.

"Let’s go," Helion said as he led her to the path. Mildred, who was at their back, followed them, and Jarnus and Ernie, who were riding in the carriage, were at her back.

When they got out, she saw that they were in front of the palace, where there were some maids who looked surprised when they arrived, but when they saw the person she was with, they suddenly bowed their heads.

"Why did you teleport us here?" She asked as she looked at Helion, who was waiting for someone.

Not to long, Mildred also came out and the rest.

She saw Helion walk towards Ernie and the others, and he said something to them. Helion called Mildred, and the latter went inside the carriage as it moved.

"Where are they going?" Acantha said as she was about to follow the carriage, but Helion stopped her.

"The Duke was already there, and I sent Mildred back home. I noticed that she seemed to be tired." Helion said as he looked at her.

Acantha sighed, and when Helion led her to walk inside, she just went with him.

She saw that the people were looking at them like they were intrigued by something.

They walked through the corridors, and when they reached a big, tall door, Helion opened it, and there they saw the Emperor with her father.

"Aki"

Her father said as he rushed towards her; when he reached her, the duke hugged her tightly like they had never seen each other for years.

"Father," Acantha said as she hugged the duke back.

When the duke let her go, she walked with him to where the emperor is, and when she reached where they were, she made a bow to show some respect.

"Greetings to the sun of the Empire," she said as she bows.

"That’s too much formality, Lady Acantha; it seems like the rumours about you having a bad manner were false," the emperor said when she lifted her head to meet his eyes.

"I told you that the baron was the one who was spreading false rumors about my daughter," the duke said as he glared at the Emperor, who just laughed at what he did.

"We all know that one was perfect for the baron, except for his daughter." The empror said, and the duke was about to open its mouth when suddenly the door flung open.

"Helion!!" They heard someone shout, and there they saw Lady Noraya, who was running towards Helion, and when she reached them, she hugged him very tight, not minding the people around them.

Acantha saw how Helion sighed when she looked at him, while Noraya was still hugging him.

"Ahhm" The empror clears its throat to let Noraya know that they were still there, but it seems like it wasn’t effective as the latter seemed to be in her own word where there were only the two of them.

"I am so glad that you are back now," she said as she freed Helion from her hug.

"L-lady Noraya," Acantha heard Noraya’s maid call her attention as she was looking at the emperor.

Noraya turned around and her eyes widen when she sees them there’

"Greetings, his majesty the empror," she said as she bows to the emperor, "Duke Solaris." Noraya also did the same thing to her father, which she saw that she wasn’t willing to do so.

Then Noraya looked at her and she saw anger on her eyes for a second, but she changed it back like she was glad to seeing her too.

"I’m glad to see you here, Lady Acantha." She said as she gave her a sweet smile.

"It seems like you forgot your manners back then and now, lady Noraya; you should also pay respect to the duchess of the north." The emperor coldly said, and it seems like he was offended by Noraya’s action.

"D-duchess of North? I-isn’t that the Klartis duchy?" Acantha saw how her face turned pale, as she didn’t expect what she heard from the empror.

"The one and only," Acantha said coldly as she turned to the emperor.

"But your a Solaris!" She was surprised when Noraya raised her voice, and when she realized what she did, she was also shocked with her action.

"I am both a Klartis and a Solaris," Acantha said as she looked at her.

"F-father-" Noraya said as she looked around, and she seemed to be lost in words.
