Chapter 50: And They Got Humbled...

Chapter 50: And They Got Humbled...

Acantha saw that there were some knights or? Some men barged in the restaurant, and they seem to be looking for something or someone?

Everyone who was at the place was whispering, except for him and some knights who knew that these men might be here for Jarnus.

The man looked around and was searching for someone.

Acantha looked at Jarnus, who didn’t seem to care.

"You should eat this one." Acantha looked at Helion, who was giving her some food, while Mildred on the other side was just looking at the two of them.

"You!" They heard some people gasp when suddenly there was a man who went on their table and pointed at Jarnus, who was still eating his food, while Ernie was on his side.

"You shameless low person!" Acantha lifted her eyes and saw the lady yesterday, who was called Lady Jordina Morlaw, was now shouting as she entered the place.

"That’s him!" She continued to say as she pointed at Jarnus as he looked at her with boredom. "Grabbed him and make him apologize to me!" The lady said as she stomp her right foot like a kid.

Now, where’s the unladylike word she said to me yesterday? She seems to be behaving like a kid.

"And you! What are you looking at? Grabbed her too!" Lady Jordina yelled at one of her knights as she pointed her hand at me.

These knights—shouldn’t they know who they were? Besides, as far as she knew, all knights in the empire attended and trained at the knights academy in the capital, but why does it seem like they didn’t know Jarnus was?

The knight was about to grab her when suddenly there was a loud noise coming from beside her.

"If you ever lay your fingers on her, I’ll let you see what dying is better means," Helion said as he looked at the knight who was about to grab her.

The knight looked at Helion, and he seems to be in shock. Well, it seems like they knew who they were messing with.

Acantha saw the knight pull the man who was still trying to follow their lady’s order. The knight who was about grabbed her but got scared at Helion, pointed him, and whispered something.

She saw how the other knight’s eyes widen after the other knight whispered something at him.

"What are you still waiting for?" The woman shouted as she looked at her knights, who were not moving.

"M-my lady" The other knight said as he looked like he was going to lose his life any moment as he looked in their direction.

"What? My father pays you to protect and follow me!" The lady said as she pointed at her knight.

"B-but"

"But what?!" She yelled at her knights.

Acantha sighed as she looked at the poorman.

Is this how bad the nobles are here in the south?

First, Baron Cargins, and now this lady who was the daughter of a count who was shouting like she wasn’t taught how to be poised and behave like a proper lady.

And here she thought, she was the most unmannered lady in their empire, based on Baron Abellarde’s words back in the north.

"You should stop causing a scene," Acantha said boredly as she looked at her.

"And who are you to tell me what to do?" Lady Jordina said she raised her brows at her. "Don’t you know who I am?" She said as she walked towards me.

"Do I need to know who you are?" I asked as I raised her brows at her.

"You! How dare you mock me? I am Count Morlaw’s daughter; you should know better not to mess with me, and you did." She screamed. I looked at her as I yawn.

I always said while coming her in east that I shouldn’t make any scene, but seeing it, it seems like this woman won’t stop till she drags me and Jarnus to the mud.

"Should I run?" I said as I looked at her.

"You should kneel and apologize to me!" she yelled as she crossed her arms on her chest like she was proud while she was smirking at me.

"And why would I do that? You are the one with her knights who just barged here while we were having our breakfast in here!" I said as I raised my voice.

"What’s going on in here?!" I heard someone say behind us.

"Father!" The woman cried as she called for her father, who happens to be the man who just came in.

"What happened to you?" Acantha saw how the woman cried and acted like she was hurt by them.

"You did you-" The man said he hadn’t finished his words when he saw her face.

Does this man know who I was? Acantha asked to herself as the man was still to stunned to speak.

"Finished your sentence, and you’ll know it, Count Marlow," Helion, who was at her back, said as his face looked dark and he looked like he was ready to kill someone.

The count paled when he heard Helion’s word; the woman was still seemed oblivious on what was happening and was still clinging to her father -

"They were mocking me, father; you should do something and make them kneel and apologize!" She said she was unaware that her father was as white as the paper.

Acantha saw the woman smirk before she lifted her eyes to see her father. She saw how the smirked from the woman’s face erased when she saw how pale her father is.

"Father!" She raised her voice as she was trying to get her father’s attention.

"You! What did you do to my father? Did you make him like this? If only you just apologized at me then-"

The woman didn’t finish her sentence when her father slapped her in the face.

Acantha saw the shock on the woman’s face when she lifted her face.

"Y-you slapped me?" She asked unbelievably as she was holding her cheeks where she had been slapped by her father.

"You, I give you everything and yet you’re putting our family on the brink." The count said as he was yelling at his daughter.

The woman looked around, and Acantha could sense the humiliation in her eyes when she saw that there were so many people who were watching.

The count called his knights and told them to get his daughter out of the place.

As the count approached them, Acantha knelt before them, pleading for forgiveness for her daughter, Lady Acantha, Your Highness. She was still young, and I spoiled her too much."

She was surprised at what he did. Helion, who was still beside her, looked at the count and said, "Just don’t say any words that we are here." He said as he pulled her back to where they were eating.

Acantha looked at the place in front of her. After they ate their breakfast, Helion told her that they would go to the library, and now she was standing in front of it.

Mildred wasn’t with them and said that she has a headache, so she chose to stay at the place where they were staying with Flamear, which she ensures that no one will harm as she puts some barriers on it.

They went inside, and they were greeted by an attendant who was smiling at them.

"Welcome to the East Public Library," the man said as he was welcoming them.

Acantha just nodded and followed Helion, who didn’t pay attention to the attendant.

They went to the section where there were records about the noble families in the east.

She got some books, and she read them. She learned that the east wasn’t as prosperous as the south, nor was the capital, as it was always attacked by the monsters.

Acantha also got some information about the Morlaw family, who owns one of the biggest lands here in the east, and they also owned some various shops, such as jewelry shops, where they got their riches.

She also saw the Cargins family, who was one of the richest families in this place, as they also owned so many things, like the Cargins land, which sells so many crops, and they were also the ones who distributed the wine in the whole empire, and she also observed her father in there.

So basically, the Solaris family was from here and that they also owned a lot of land on it, but due to marriage and alliances, the land was left to the youngest son, who had a daughter, who married and had a child, and so on.

She looks at the record again to see if there is any Cruix in the record, but she finds none.

Acantha has this hunch that Julian Cruix is a fake Identity, or-

"I’m sorry," she heard said from a man who bumped her.

Acantha looked at the man and showed him no emotions as her mind was busy thinking something.

She saw the man continued walking his way outside the library when she noticed something on the floor. She rushed to the door to give it to the man, but he was nowhere to be found anymore.

Acantha looked at the thing she was holding and was surprised to see that-
