Villainess Want's To Ignore Them! -
Chapter 155: Mad Duke...
Chapter 155: Mad Duke...
The next morning they went early to the market to see if someone was selling it.
The first shop they went to is where they sell some old things, but the dagger wasn’t there.
"The dagger seems not to be here too," Acantha said as she looked at Helion who were now checking some weapons that was being sold in the shop that they just got in.
"Let’s meet Jarnus and Ernie outside," She said and Helion followed her.
When they went outside, they saw some people who were camping in one place; it seemed like they were watching something.
Acantha with Helion went to see what was happening and there she saw heard people gasp as the sound of whipping could be heard in the center.
"I told them last night that they should be wary, as the duke has ears everywhere." Acantha recognized that voice as it was the middle-aged lady at the restaurant last night.
And when she and Helion finally went to the crowd of people, they saw the four men who were being whipped by some knights.
She looked at them and the blood gushed down to their bodies as they were being whipped and tortured.
The men grunt in pain as they plead with the knights who are punishing them.
"This is what you get for your blasphemy against the duke!" one of the knights who was whipping the men yelled as he whipped one of the men who was kneeling in front of them.
"How could the duke be so cruel to his people?" she heard the man in front of her whisper in a very low voice, afraid to be heard by those who were torturing some men who were heard.
Acantha looked at the people who were watching as they winced every time the rope whipped the men’s backs, and they bled a lot.
"Now, everyone of you must know that you shouldn’t make such a blasphemy about the duke and his family or else you will end up worse than this," The knights said as he stopped the other knights from whipping the other men.
The knights left the place and the crowd went silent as they gave them way.
After they were gone, people who seemed to be the family of those men who were now lying on the ground unconscious went to them.
"Help us, please," Their families cried as the crowd just looked at them.
Too afraid to help, too afraid to interfere.
The people started to leave while looking hopeless and scared at the same time.
"We must help them," Acantha said as she looked at Helion, who sighed and nodded.
It seems like he was just suppressing himself awhile ago not to interfere with those knights, as there were many people who were watching.
They went to where the men were still lying while their families were crying as they were helpless.
"May I have a look?" Acantha said as she went to one of them and the woman and the children who were crying in the man’s body lifted their heads, and Acantha saw tears streaming down their faces.
"But you will be in trouble, my lady," his wife said and Acantha looked at the man who was on the brink of dying.
"We will sort that out, but now let me help your husband," Acantha said as she looked at them with sincerity.
The woman who expected her to carry her husband gasped when she laid her hands above him, and the light started engulfing his body.
"What was that?" the woman asked.
"It’s not for you to find out; it’s better this way," she said as she went to the other men and did the same.
After she healed them, Acantha removed their memories and gave them some money to return to their own households.
"What was wrong with this empire?" Acantha said as she sat on one of the steps in the plaza as Helion sat next to her.
"I thought that only the emperor was the crazy one here. I Didn’t know his subjects and people—not that I’m saying all of them, but most of the nobles I’ve encountered here only know how to look down on people.
Helion chuckled at what she said—wait, what?
"Did you just chuckle? Did you think it’s funny?" Acantha said as she glared at him.
She had seen him smile, but not laugh.
"But seriously, You’re well acquainted with him, right?" Acantha asked as if it were a slip of a tongue.
"How did you know that?" Helion asked her, which made her realize what she said.
So, it’s really real? She thought it wasn’t, as she had learned that Lucille was a person that she made using her subconscious and that she had lived in another world where she had read the story.
"Nothing, it was just a guess. father said you went to another empire when you were a kid and were raised there by your aunt who lives here in Tenebrisaya," Acantha said as she looked away.
It was actually his distant aunt who raised him when his mother struggled with his sister’s death, but his aunt was killed and also her family, as they were executed as traitors for having a friendly relationship with their empire’s enemy.
That stains Helion and Sullaivan’s friendship, and even before, the latter always hated that he was compared to his friend who excelled at things, even though his father hated Helion’s father as they both came from the same lineage.
A lineage that has some beliefs that whoever has the strongest ability shall reign the empire, which Sullaivan’s descendant didn’t agreed and they rebelled, which divided the place and even made their own empire to compete.
Acantha was back to her senses when she felt something wet on her arm, and that’s when they both noticed that it was from the sky.
"Shall we go?" Helion asked her as he offered her his hand to help her stand.
Acantha accepted his hand, and it was so warm.
"Let’s meet them there at the inn," Helion said as they walked, and Acantha just nodded at him.

Meanwhile...
"We already did what you had asked us, Your Grace," The knight said as he was kneeling in front of the duke, who was sharpening his sword.
"Are you sure?" he asked as he looked at his sword like it was some sort of a mirror.
"Yes, Your Grace," The knight said emotionless and the duke dismissed him.
But before he could leave the place-
"Have you called my son?" the duke asks him as he was now waving his sword in the air.
"Yes, Your Grace. Young Master was just hunting his own prey and he said he will be here before dinner," the knight said and the duke dismissed him again.
"Father, you called?" the door opened without even a knock, and there the duke saw his son, who had blood all over his clothes.
"Vilerio, why do your clothes look like that?" The duke asked, though he already knew that answer but still he wanted his son to be presentable in front of him like the noble he was.
The Krazer Ducal family has been a long-standing ducal house of Tenebrisaya since the emperor Tenebrisaya took that name as his and made his own empire against his brothers.
The Krazers stand with him as his loyal knights and aid him to build this empire which they got their ducal title.
But unbeknownst to them, the Krazer has been mad, just like the emperor they as they didn’t want to be compared and have something negative.
Krazer should always be a good name and a good place; that’s why they eliminated those people who talked against them to show them who had the power in here.
The Krazer family likes hunting best, but they were found hunting their enemies alive while they were running and begging for their lives.
Duke Krazer looked at his son, who was now looking at his own knife as he licked the blood that was still there.
"Did you get weaker?" The patriarch asked his son insultingly, as it was new that his son had a long time taking down his own prey.
"No, father. Sister interfered during my hunt and let my prey go, and even went against me and tried to finished my own prey." he said as he glared at his father’s insult towards him.
"Has your sister already returned?" he asked his son as he glared at him like showing him that he should know his place as his son.
"Sister must be playing with her toys now," The young lord said as he smirked.
His sister does fancy playing with toys or men to her own pleasure, which they hide just to make her look innocent for future prospects.
They even wanted to make her the empress so that they could also control the empire.
But that damned bastard has found someone who amuses him, and it was the duke’s daughter from their empire’s enemy.
How could such a woman compete with his daughter?
The duke had seen the woman and indeed she was beautiful, but his daughter was stronger and more powerful, she was suited to be the empress of their empire, and if that stupid mad emperor they had managed to defeat their enemies, his daughter would be the empress of all.
The duke clenches his hand when he remembers how he embarrassed him in front of many people when he suggested that idea.
