Villainess Want's To Ignore Them! -
Chapter 154: New Place...
Chapter 154: New Place...
Acantha almost pukes when the duke’s breath reaches her nostrils.
It was a very awful smell.
"You dare humiliate my daughter in front of my people?" he even said, but for Acantha it seems like he was spitting some saliva.
"They didn’t just humiliate me, Father. That man even laughed at me," the woman said as she looked at Ernie, who just shrugged his shoulders at what he said.
Acantha looked at Helion as he was examining the room and seemed to be calculating some things.
"You, you dared mock us? We were royalty." The duke said as he took another of his cigarette and lit it.
The duke kept saying things, but Acantha and the others weren’t even listening to his words.
"Do you understand me?" The duke yelled and that’s when they all looked at him cluelessly.
"Father, look, they weren’t even listening to what you were saying," The woman said as she was looking at them while glaring.
"How pompous the four of you," The duke said as he went near her.
Acantha could feel her goosebumps when the duke smelled her and looked at her face like he was examining her.
"It seems like there’s a suitable place for you," The man said and he even licked his tongue out while he was still staring at her face.
"Father!" the woman said as she contested against her father.
"Isn’t it great? You found us some useful slaves as well as my own slave. your mother has been busy and my bed has been cold these past few days," The duke said dramatically as he looked at her with lust in his eyes.
"But father she is a lowly commoner," the woman said as she glared at her while looking at her father with the same eyes.
"Mother would feel very insulted when she heard about you taking a commoner as a mistress," The woman said as she looked at her insultingly.
As if Acantha would let herself be touched by a creepy old man who was lusting after someone who was younger than him.
"And besides, look at this man; he has been glaring at you since you went to that woman." The woman continued as she pointed at Helion, who was now looking at the duke like he was going to kill him any moment.
"And why are you glaring at me?" The duke said as he went to Helion, who was looking at him with those piercing blue eyes as he was still wearing the jewelry that she had given them.
"Why, of course he will glare at you, as that is his wife," The woman said as she pointed at them as she was still sulking at her father.
"Wife? Isn’t that even great? Boy, let me borrow your wife first and everything that you—"
The duke didn’t even finish his sentence when he flew to the wall, which alerted his knights and surprised his daughter.
"W-what?" The woman said as she looked at her father, who was now lying on the floor while wincing in pain.
The duke’s knight went in front of their lady to protect her from them.
The knights were about to attack them when Ernie and Jarnus jumped from behind them and attacked the knights.
The woman looked at them helplessly as she saw how her knights were easily beaten by the two.
"Damned, My hands had been itching to do that ever since we came into this place," Ernie said as he looked at them while laughing.
"We were never even here if it weren’t for your loud mouth," Jarnus said as he glared at Ernie, who just pouted instead.
Acantha felt something weird and there she saw that the duke was about to attack them when she used her power and slammed him into the wall again, which made him cough blood.
"W-who are you?" The duke said as he was coughing some blood and while his daughter was helping him.
"It’s not for you to know," Acantha said as she used her power to put everyone who was here in the house to sleep except for them.
"Let’s start searching this place up," Acantha said as she looked at them, who nodded at her.
Acantha went to the duke’s library, but she found no traces of the thing that she was looking for.
She even tried going to where the family put their heirlooms but all she saw there was useless jewelry.
Acantha looked at the ceiling inside the duke’s room, as this was the last thing she went but didn’t find what she was looking for here either.
She went outside and saw that Helion was already talking to Jarnus and Ernie.
"Have you found something?" Acantha asked as she looked at them.
They all shook their heads in unison as she sighed.
"It seems like the duke’s palace didn’t have it," Acantha said as she looked at them.
"Most likely," Helion agreed as they were walking their way down the stairs to leave the place.
But before they leave the palace, she cast some spell to erase their memories about them, and especially about what happened in this place.
-----------
She slammed her body on the bed after she took a real quick bath after they went back to the inn that they were staying at.
But before that, they also tried looking for the dagger by asking some local people, who just said that they didn’t see it.
They will sleep early as they are going to travel again tomorrow, but they won’t go to the capital as they need to search somewhere else first.
Acantha didn’t even know how she fell asleep last night, as the last thing she remembered was thinking about where to search for the dagger first.
She looked at the place and saw that Flamear had already joined Ernie and Jarnus where their wagon was, while Helion must be waiting for her and didn’t even dare to wake her up from her sleep.
After she took a real quick bath, Acantha dressed herself really fast.
She walks downstairs and sees Helion, who is talking to the bar and seems to be paying their bill for staying here.
"You’re awake," Helion said as he seemed to have also finished paying for their bill.
"Why didn’t you wake me up?" Acantha said as they walked outside the place and were walking to where they agreed to meet.
"I asked Flamear to wake you up, but when I saw how deep your sleep was, I stopped him from waking you up," Helion said as they were still walking.
"Your H-" Ernie stopped saying when he felt Jarnus glare at him when they were calling them.
"You’re such an idiot and talkative!" Jarnus said to him.
Acantha, with Helion’s guidance, went inside the wagon and now it was Ernie’s turn to run the wagon.
They left the place and were peacefully travelling.
She didn’t know how long they had been traveling as she fell asleep.
She woke up and was startled when she saw Helion’s face an inch away from hers, and that’s where she also noticed that her head was on Helion’s lap while he also seemed to fall asleep.
Acantha moved away without making any noise, as she didn’t want his sleep to get disturbed.
She put Helion’s head on her lap just like what he did to her and let him rest, after all.
Acantha knew that Helion always stayed awake at night even if his eyes were closed, as he was on guard.
She was a little bit startled when the wagon shook, and it seemed like it stepped on something.
"No worries, Lady Acantha, it was just a big rock," Ernie said as he reassured her.
She looked at Helion to see if he was wake up but it seemed like he wasn’t.
She looked at the other side of the wagon and saw Flamear and Jarnus were also sleeping.
"Can you see any small village?" Acantha asked Ernie.
"I still can’t seem to find a place, My lady," Ernie answered her as he was still running the wagon.
She looked at Helion again when she felt him move on her lap.
Their eyes meet and Acantha could feel her heart racing fast.
"I let you sleep, as you also did the same to me a while ago," She said as she looked away.
Helion didn’t answered her but she really felt very awkward.
"My lady, there’s another town over there," she heard Ernie shout from the outside.
"Then let’s go there," Acantha said, knowing it might be some noble’s territory, which they intended to do as they were going to look everywhere in this empire.
They arrived at the town when it was already night.
The town was bigger than the town where they stayed the last time.
Acantha notices some crests everywhere in the place.
It was not hard for them to find a place to stay, as there were many establishments in their market.
"Is the crazy duke still doing that game?" They heard the people whispered behind them as they were eating dinner at a small restaurant.
"Yes, it was cruel that he hunted the man alive and killed him like he was some kind of beast," the other man said as he sighed while there was some pity in his voice.
"Might be the Gods will that their name was like that, as they also act like their name," The man said and they laughed bitterly.
"Shhh... If one of the duke’s ears hears you, you four will be the next prey for his crazy game." They heard the old lady say, who seemed to be working at this place.
Acantha looked at the four who seems to be also listening at the people while continuing eating.
