Chapter 148: The New Workers At The Solaris PART 2....

"What’s that, Your highness?" Ernie asked him as he was wiping his eyes with his hand, while Jarnus was yawning at his back.

"These will be the clothes that you are going to wear when you work..." Zerth said as he answered Ernie’s question.

"Clothes? We already have our own clothes..." Jarnus said as he frowned at what Zerth said to them.

"What clothes are you going to wear? those uniforms that you wear as knights?" Zerth asked them as he glared at Ernie, who was now yawning.

Ernie was about to protest when Helion and Jarnus pulled him to change their clothes.

After they changed their clothes, they went outside only to find out that Zerth was still waiting for them.

"What took you all so long?" He asked irritatingly. "Never mind," He continued as he teleported them.

Helion looked at the place where Zerth teleported them.

The place looks very wide, and it was a field of different fruits.

"What are we going to do in here?" Ernie asked as he frowned at Zerth, who walked away from them and he went back immediately with some basket with him.

"This will be your new job here," Zerth said as he gave them the basket one by one.

"You’re going to pick some fruits here and help the other people," Zerth said as he disappeared from their vision.

"This is nonsense! How dare he treat us like this? I thought he was the kindest back then, as he was always smiling at us," Ernie said as he looked at the basket that he was holding.

"We were just here out of their mercy; we need to do what we were told, and besides, this is not hard work for us, and look around you... the people were even smiling while working here," Jarnus said to Ernie as he gave him some knocks on his head.

Helion looked at the two as he roamed his eyes around.

"Let’s start." Helion said as he looked at the two again, who stopped arguing at each other.

Helion and the others went to pick the bigger fruit first.

They picked some apples, and after that they put the basket to put all the apples in one place.

Then after that they went to get another after one another.

"I thought this was an easy task?" He heard Ernie complain as the sun was already painful to their skin.

"You idiot! I didn’t say that it wouldn’t be painful when the sunlight burns our skin," Jarnus said as he glared at Ernie.

Helion looked at the people who didn’t even complain after they worked in such daylight.

"How dare that man not give us some hats?" Ernie said as he drank some water.

"Maybe he just forgot to give us some," Helion said as he also drank some water.

He could feel his sweat all over his body.

He wanted to take off his clothes as he couldn’t take the heat, but he knew that it would make some noise and it would reach the duke’s ears.

"And besides, people seem not to know who we are," Ernie said as he continued while he was looking at the people around them.

The people smiled at them when they saw them looking at them.

The people’s smile here looks and feels warm.

It’s really good to know that there are some people who didn’t know his status and treated him like a normal person with no special treatment.

"Isn’t it great that the people here didn’t know who we are?" Helion said and the two looked at him and they looked surprised at what he said.

"You know, being born in the imperial family, everyone fears you and doesn’t dare their eyes to met yours, and besides, the people’s smiles here look genuine, unlike some people in the capital who would smile at you just to gain your favor," Helion said as he looked at the people who were now eating some of their food.

Seems like the duke was really good when it came to his people, as he provided them some place to rest. and provide them some food when they get hungry.

Now, he knows why his people were so loyal to him: it’s because the duke wasn’t only a good father to Acantha but also a good person to the others.

"Young men, there’s some food there; the duke already gives us our breakfast," One of the middle-aged women said as she smiled at them.

"Pardon for asking but may we know your names? It’s a little bit inconvenient for us to call you ’young men." The man who was with the woman and seemed to be her husband said as he smiled at them.

"He is the C-"

Helion bump him on his stomach to make him stop.

"My name is Helio, and these are Ern, and Janus," he said as he looked at the couple, who smiled at them more.

"Oh, are you brothers? It seems like you three don’t look like each other." The man asked as he looked at their faces, and Helion stiffened and was afraid that they might find out their identity.

"And look at his eyes, sweetheart. I think we had seen those eyes before, but I couldn’t recall where." He continued as he looked at his eyes.

"It was just that he got sick when he was a kid, which made his eyes like that," Jarnus explained as he looked at him, and Helion nodded to agree with him.

"Oh, that’s why. The duke’s people already informed us that there will be new workers here at their place," the man said as he suddenly changed the topic.

"Yes, the duke, You know? We were all shocked when we learned that the duke had passed away, as we didn’t know what was going on in the capital, as people here didn’t go there that much, as we all got everything in here," The woman said and Helion saw that the other people also walked towards their directions.

"Who was that, Melia?" the other people asked the woman who was talking to them.

"Oh, these are the three young men that were new here. Robert and I were talking to them to get their names. these are Helio, Janus, and Ern," the woman named Melia introduces them to the others.

Helion looked at the people who warmly smiled at them as they were introducing themselves to them.

---------------------

Acantha looked at the dining room only to find that her father wasn’t there.

The house looked empty, as Flamear wasn’t there too; her father might have taken him again.

"Mildred, do you have any idea where my father took Flamear?" She asked, as she wanted Flamear to go with her to find Abanoon.

She forgot to tell her father about the attack that happened at the palace.

"I am sorry, my lady, but the duke didn’t mention anything about where he will go," Mildred said as she looked at her.

Acantha sighed as she ate her breakfast alone and decided to go to the garden to get some fresh air.

She was looking at the lake behind the garden as she could hear the water and the birds chirping around her.

"Have you heard?" Acantha heard some of the servants who were walking near where she was.

"What was it?" one of them asked.

"There were three men who were working at the farm. They were new, and some people from there said that they all looked handsome," one of the maids said, which made her frown at what she heard from them.

Three men?

Acantha looked and saw that the maids were already gone.

Could it be?

Acantha knew her father wouldn’t just let the three of them stay here without doing something.

She teleported herself to where the maids were talking about, and the sun was already burning her skin as she accidentally teleported herself in the middle of the field where she didn’t even wear some hat on her head.

She looked around her and found that there was no one else in her area.

She was about to teleport herself when-

"Lady Acantha..." She looked at the person who called her and there she saw Ernie, who was sweating really hard.

"What are you doing here, my lady?" He continued to ask as he wiped the sweat on his forehead.

"What’s going on in here?" She asked as she looked at him.

"The duke ordered us to work in here for a living," Ernie answered her, which also answered her hunch about her father.

"Ernie, who are you talking to there?" she heard the voice, which she recognized as Jarnus’s.

"Lady Acantha..." Jarnus said as he looked at her and with him was Helion, who looked surprised to see her there.

"We need to talk..." Acantha said as she looked at Helion, who was also looking at her as he nodded.

She teleported them to the old annex where he stayed the last time when he was in here.

"What was on your mind to let my father do that to you?" She asked as she looked at him, who didn’t say anything.

"And he made you work on the field?" Acantha asked as he looked at him.

"The job was easy..." Helion said to her.

"And besides, I think the duke intended us to do it to understand the difficulties of people’s work and how lucky we are to be born noble, who didn’t need to work very hard and stay in the daylight and burn our skin," Helion said as he looked at her.

"And that’s not because we were known people everyone would know us, that there are some still people who were still aware of our existence but never knew who we are." Helion continued a he was still looking at her face, like she would be gone from his sight if he ever turned away.
