Villainess Want's To Ignore Them!
Chapter 138: South

Chapter 138: South

She was flying with Flamear as they were strengthening the barrier when she noticed something from afar.

There was something with the way the wind was flowing to the capital that she cannot fathom.

It feels like there was a weird energy that was coming from there.

"Let’s go there," Acantha said as she looked at Flamear when she pointed at the place that they will go.

She frowned, as when they got there, the energy was suddenly gone; she couldn’t sense it anymore.

Acantha looked at the surroundings and she saw the symbol of Abellarde in one of the flags that was hanging in the place. It must be the baron’s territory.

She looked and saw that it was just a small territory that was not so far from the capital but with different directions.

"That’s weird," she said as she looked down again.

She saw some people who were walking and seemed to be doing some normal things.

"Yes, the dark energy that was coming from this direction disappears." Flamear said to her as they went back to the south and finished what they needed to do.

After Helion went out from his father’s study, he went to find Jarnus and Ernie when he saw one of the council passing.

"Your Highness," Lord Rigas said as he bowed his head to him.

He remembered him now; he was with Count Di Santris back then when they saw him with Acantha at the market.

This man has a history with Acantha’s family, as he saw the way he looked at her, and he didn’t like it.

Helion knew that he was once a friend of Duke Solaris, but they became sworn enemies because of the rivalry between the two houses.

Rigas was once one of the noblest families in their empire, but the former duke of Rigas gave up his title and betrayed his own empire when he fell in love with one of the nobles in the Tenebrisaya.

It was a famous story across their empire about the love and betrayal between the two people.

The duke did so much for their love that he did turn a lot of people in his empire.

There was once a bloody war between the two empires. There were so many lost because of the duke’s betrayal.

The Luminasiarians grieve for their loss and exile all the family of the duke, even executing some of them, but the Rigas family has also been one of the loyal supporters of the imperial family, and everyone was surprised and didn’t expect the late duke to turn the empire into enemies.

The late duke and some of their families fled across the empire and went to Tenebrisaya only to learn that the woman he had fallen in love with betrayed him by saying it was all her plan and that she was already betrothed to marry the emperor of the Tenebrisaya.

The late duke couldn’t believe what his lover said.

He turned to his people and to the woman who just betrayed him.

Later on, as he couldn’t undo what he did, he went to hunt the woman and the emperor back then and killed them.

He offered their heads to the late emperor, pardoned his other families, and even got them some land.

Some may forget the betrayal that the late duke committed but not all. There are many people who were against reinstating their family honor; that’s why they were never given any titles, but the late duke’s sister married into a noble family who was poor.

That’s when they get their title back, and the late duke killed himself after he offered his lover’s head. The ones that were left were just his siblings.

He learned about this story because of his nanny back then and some knights who loved talking about the story about the love and betrayal that once happened in their empire.

"Is there something you are going to tell me, Your Highness?" Helion looked at the count as he was back to his senses and saw that he was still there.

"No, nothing," Helion said as he walked away from him. And the man did the same. Helion continued walking when

"I can’t believe that Duke Solaris was alive." He heard from people who were coming on his way.

He stopped when he saw them stop too.

"Me either. Also, Baron Abellarder and the Emperor were even surprised when they both saw the duke," one of the men said, whom he recognized as Lord Lord Nuchi

"And why did you even include Lord Abellarde? As far as everyone in the empire knows, the two were sworn enemies of each other. Have you seen his face?" Lord Orkal said as he laughed a little bit.

"It’s good that we didn’t even agree on anything that the baron said or we will be doomed." He continued as he looked at the two people in front of him.

"It’s better yet to stay on good terms with the duke, as we can ask for refuge when there was an attack again here in the capital," Lord Joran said as he looked at the two.

"Yes, if you see the places that were safe were the places where the duke has some territories or not, he has allies with, just look at the south," he continued.

"Yes, the south and east were lucky to have the duke as their allies, and besides that, the north and the duke’s territory, which is on the border between the the way of the south and the border of the capital, have been missing," Lork Orkal said as he sounded so serious about what he said.

"Yes, I tried looking for it, but it seems like it just disappeared," Lord Nuchi said to the other people he was talking with.

"I remembered I was there when people went there and looked for Lady Acantha in the North; the place was still there but cannot be penetrated by someone." He continued as he shook his head in disbelief.

Helion knew about that too.

People had come to make Acantha admit that she was a witch and that she was using some dark magic.

They didn’t even know that the one who has been purifying things has been imbued by dark magic.

"I heard from the duke when he talked to one of his men awhile ago that they were going to the south." Helion stiffened at what he heard. He was so lost in his own thoughts that he didn’t remember what they were talking about awhile ago, but now it seems like something has lightened inside him.

He uses his power to teleport himself to the training ground where he knew that Jarnus and Ernie were.

"Your Highness." The knights greeted him, and he saw the two that he was looking for.

"Ernie, Jarnus, you’re coming with me," he said with authority in his voice.

The two bowed their heads as a sign of respect for him.

"Where are we going, Your Highness?" Jarnus asked him when he and Ernie walked near him.

"We’re going south," He said and the two didn’t ask him anymore.

He teleported them to the south, and there they saw that the people seemed very busy and didn’t even notice their presence.

Helion looked around to see if he could spot where Acantha was, but the south was big. Unlike the north, this place feels very warm, while it has always been so cold in the north, and the capital was a little cool.

They went to the market as they didn’t know where to find Acantha in the south. There are so many noble families here, as the South was and has always been famous for trading.

The streets seems busy and people here looked like they weren’t afraid of anything.

He knew that there were only some places and territories in the South that were protected with barriers and this place wasn’t one of them.

Or maybe it was just Abanoon who was only attacking the capital?

"It seems like there was no attack in here, Your Highness," Jarnus said as he voiced what was on his mind.

"Not just seems, see? There aren’t any traces of any attacks here," Ernie said as he pointed at the place.

"And it seems like not all the people here knew who you are, Your Highness." He continued as he pointed at one man who was looking at them.

"Pardon the intrusion, but may I ask if Solaris has been here?" Helion asked as he went to the man who was selling something.

"Duke Solaris? He has always been here, and from what I heard, he was with Lord Constrin in his place." The man answered him as he was still eyeing him.

Helion nodded to him as he thanked him.

"But may I ask if there is any special occasion here now?" Helion heard Ernie ask the man after him.

"We were celebrating the news that the duke was alive. You know that the duke has been protecting this place from the attacks and even went here whenever there was some attack in here," the man said and Helion could see his eyes sparkling.

He looked around again, and he saw that there were some knights who were roaming around with the crest of Solaris on their armor.

"It seems like we need to head to Lord Constrin’s house," he said as he looked at the knights again that were roaming around and seemed to be guarding the place in case something happened.

Jarnus and Ernie nodded at him, and they disappeared again.
