Villainess Want's To Ignore Them! -
Chapter 136: The Mother and Son...
Chapter 136: The Mother and Son...
Helion rushes to where the meeting was happening, as he knew that Acantha would come there, and his hunch wasn’t wrong, as he saw the lady with her father, but before he could even say anything, they both disappeared, and he didn’t know where they went.
"What are you still doing here?" He lifted his head and saw his father, who was frowning while looking at him.
"Are you perhaps looking for Lady Acantha?" his father continued to ask him.
"Yes, but I saw that they just left," Helion said as he sighed in defeat.
"Helion!!" He turned around and saw his mother, who looked angry, with some knight with her; she probably used some mana stones from the knight to teleport her here.
"Your Majesty," Helion said as he bowed to his mother to give some respect, which surprised her, as they were the only people there, and yet he addressed her as that instead of Mother.
"You..."
"What’s going on, Helion?" His father asked as he looked between him and his mother, who was gritting her teeth out of anger.
"Asked you, son!" The empress yelled at his father, which made the other knights look at her.
Helion just shook his head to his father as he looked at his mother, who was glaring at him.
"Is really no one going to tell me what happened?" Helion heard his father say, and there was an authority in his voice when he said those words.
"Why did you even invite that lady here?" His mother blurted out at his father, who just frowned at what she said.
"What do you mean? And who are you talking about?" His father asked as he still seemed not to get what his mother said or rather, he didn’t know who his mother was talking about.
"You know what I mean! You invited that lady here even though you know I don’t like her!" Her mother was still yelling at his father like she was forgetting his status and hers.
"Empress, mind your manners," his father warns his mother as they started getting some attention from some people that came out from the room where his father had some meetings with the councils.
His mother looked at their back and she saw that there were some noble people who just got out from there. She tried to fake a cough and smile at the nobles who were there.
"She meant Lady Acantha," Helion said when the nobles were gone and his mother’s face turned sour at the name he said.
"Lady Acantha?" The emperor asked as he looked at his mother and back to him again. "What does the lady do to you, Empress?" This time it was his mother who he asked some questions.
"Don’t say her name, and why did you even invite that girl in here?" his mother continued as she glared at her father.
"I didn’t invite the lady, and what do you mean invite? Do you have some party here?" His father asked his mother while he was frowning at her.
"She invited some daughters from rich families who live in the countryside of our empire," Helion said as he looked at his mother.
When would she stop pushing him to some ladies, and why can’t she just accept that he loves Acantha?
"In this time?" his father asked as he looked at his mother angrily.
He knew why his father was angry; she had been so out of control, and besides this, it was not the time to have some party, as the place was still dangerous for any occasions, well, unless they were at the north or the duchy of Solaris.
But the problem is they weren’t there.
His mother bringing some ladies here in the capital, where Abanoon always attacked, was like her bringing them to their death.
"You know you can’t still have some party at this time, Mother," Helion said as he looked at his mother, who just glared at him.
"And why can’t I have a simple tea party here? It’s not that I’m having a lavish big party here," his mother said as she looked at him.
"You know the situation hasn’t been controlled. What if they attack again?" Helion said as he was making his mother understand what she did.
"Then let that woman do all the job, as she was the one who brought this curse to our empire ever since she got her supposed power," his mother said as she mocked Acantha’s power.
"When will you stop hating her? I am so tired of always trying to understand you," Helion said as he put his face on his hand as he just wanted to pull his hair in frustration to calm himself.
"And when will you stop going after her?" His mother yelled at him.
Without him or his mother knowing, his father teleported them to his study.
"I told you, I love her, okay? Why can’t you just be happy for me and support what I feel for her?" Helion said as he looked at his mother, begging for her understanding.
"And why can’t I understand, of all ladies, why do you fall for her?" His mother raised her voice against him.
"There are so many ladies here begging for your attention; why not them instead of her?!" she continued as she walked around the room while fanning herself.
"But they are not her!" Helion was surprised when his voice rose against his mother.
"You dare raise your voice at me for that girl?!" his mother yelled at him as she looked hurt at what he did.
"Enough!"
"Both of you, enough!"
His father yelled at them.
Helion sighed as he knew what he did was wrong, but he was fed up with his mother.
"How many times do I have to tell you to stop meddling with our son’s marriage?" His father said to his mother as he looked at her with disappointment in his eyes towards her.
"And why can’t I meddle with my son’s marriage?" His mother asked as she looked angry at his father.
Helion didn’t know that his once easy-to-deal-with, sweet, and caring mother was already gone, and she got worse.
You can’t even reason with her, as she will just twist every word that he and his father will say.
"Because you’re causing me to lose the love of my life, Mother," Helion said as he looked at his mother.
He may be emotionless towards other people, but when it comes to his mother and the people he cherishes, he is weak.
Why can’t she understand him?
"Your son is right; beside Lady Acantha is the noblest lady in our empire; she came from two powerful houses, and she seems nice and kind to help us," his father said as he looked at him.
Helion knew that his father always had his back and he never questioned his decisions in life, as he trusted his judgment.
His father knew that he wouldn’t be choosing Acantha and loved her if she was not a good person.
"I don’t care! And what did you say, kind? She bullied almost all the young ladies here in the capital, including Lady Noraya!" His mother said as she breathed very deep because of her emotions.
"And that’s your reason? People can change, Helen. Why can’t you give her a chance?" His father said to his mother, who sighed deeply.
"Only a few people can change, but not that fast!" his mother said as she looked at him and his father.
"I am so done with this. I didn’t defend her against you a while ago, as I hoped that you would see what I saw in her," Helion said as he looked at his mother, who was crossing her arms.
"I just wanted you to see her good side, but you always judge her easily and think the worst of her." He continued as he sighed out of anger.
"You even spread some rumors against her that made people almost kill her, but she didn’t do anything against you, did she, Mother?" Helion said and he saw his mother look in another direction as she looked guilty at what he said.
"Okay, fine. But don’t expect me to like her," his mother said as she sighed in defeat before she slammed the door when she walked out of the room.
Helion looked at the door where his mother went out; he looked at his father again, who also sighed at him.
"Don’t worry about your mother; she will be good once she knows what kind of lady Lady Acantha is," his father said as he looked at him and tapped him on his shoulder.
He looked at his father when he also went out from the same door as his mother did.
He sighed as he sat on the sofa near where he was, as he looked at the ceiling.
He just needed to find where Acantha went but he didn’t know what to do anymore.
