Villainess Want's To Ignore Them!
Chapter 135: The Empress Anger

Chapter 135: The Empress Anger

Acantha looked at the hand that stopped her from walking and she saw Helion, who was looking at her like he was begging for her to stay there.

"What are you doing, Helion?" Acantha turned to look at the empress, who was looking at her son’s hand that was still on her arm.

"Let her go!" she continued as she raised her voice this time.

The ladies who were there were just looking at them like they were afraid to say something, but the lady who talked first was looking at her with disgust as she smirked at her when the empress yelled at her and Helion.

Acantha gave her a glare, and it seemed like the lady was full of arrogance and seemed not to know who she was.

Besides, she hadn’t seen these ladies from their society before, nor did she remember them in Acantha’s memories when she was always at the party for different occasions.

"Mother..."

Acantah looked and saw Helion, who was now facing his mother like he was asking her to calm down.

"No, why are you even still holding her arm? I told you already, not as your mother but as the empress, to let her arm go," the empress said, which seemed to be ringing in her ears. She even rolled her eyes at her like she was some kind of teenager who was throwing tantrums.

Is she for real?

Isn’t she too old for these kinds of attitudes?

She didn’t remember her being like this when she read the novel, and from her old memories as Acantha.

Acantha faced her and looked at her straight in her eyes as she removed Helion’s hands from holding hers.

"Your Majesty..." Acantha said as she gave courtesy to her first, which made the empress grimace at her with disgust.

"You’ve been here for the whole time, and yet you just greeted me now? How rude! If Catanya were still alive, she would probably be disappointed in what kind of lady you turned into," the empress said, which made Acantha snap as she brought her dead mother’s name up.

"You’re crossing the line, Mother..." She heard Helion say, but Acantha was being consumed by anger now.

"That’s where you’re wrong, Your Majesty... My mother might be proud of what kind of lady I turned into, knowing I had a long patience when it comes to her old friend who keeps being hostile to her daughter and keeps on spitting some words that she wouldn’t even imagine her dear friend to say to her own daughter," Acantha said and she saw the shock in her eyes as she talked back to her.

"You Insolent! How dare you talk to me like that? Catany-"

"My mother won’t like it if you keep on bringing her name up to insult her daughter," Acantha said as she cut the empress off on what kind of insult she was about to throw at her.

"How dare you, you—how dare you insult me like that?" the empress said as she pointed her fingers at her.

"No, how dare you bring up my mother’s name?" Acantha said as she glared at Empress.

"I have been trying to be patient and respect you as you are the mother of our empire, but you keep on pushing me to my limits," Acantha said as she looked at the empress, who didn’t say anything but was just glaring at her like she hit a nerve.

"Now, Your Majesty, tell me what I ever did to you to be like that to me all the time we meet each other, and why do you hate me so much?" Acantha said as she challenged the empress to say to her face why she was like that to her and why she hated her so much.

"Aki-" Helion said as he tried to grab her arms again, but she used her power to make him stop from touching her but no one could see it.

She knows how he loved his mother, but can’t he just defend her correctly as a friend?

She thought she was his friend, but he just stood there while his mother kept on insulting her.

Where’s his title as the bloodthirsty and cold prince when he can’t even defend her?

Or maybe he didn’t really see her as his friend?

No, she knows it was wrong for her to be mad at him, but that’s how she was feeling right now.

"This is why I hate you... You talked back to your elder, and you even embarrassed Lady Noraya back then at the royal ball," the empress said as she raised her eyebrows at her while she scoffed at the same time.

She remembers that, and if that was the only reason she has to hate her, isn’t she such a narrow person?

"And? Do you think Lady Noraya didn’t embarrass me too?" Acantha asked as she glared at the empress, who was looking at her with contempt in her eyes.

"Look, who was that girl, and why is she talking back to her majesty?" She heard the ladies, who she forgot were still there, whisper to each other like they were some kind of bees.

"And you think I didn’t know what you did to every person who gets on your nerve?" The empress still continued to find fault with her.

"You only knew what I did, but not what they did," Acantha said as she looked at the empress angrily.

She didn’t care if she was the empress, as she was disrespecting her, not just because of that, but also because she even brought up her late mother’s name.

"Those people called me names and tried to belittle me for being an abandoned daughter of the duke; they called me a curse," Acantha said as she looked at her straight in the eyes, and she even heard the other ladies gasp at what she said.

They must probably know who she was.

"And what do you expect me to do? Just cry and cry all day and let them bully me?" Acantha raises her voice, which makes her power rise and causes the glasses in the glass house to break.

Every lady who was there screamed in fear at what happened.

She could even see the fear in the empress’s eyes when it happened.

Acantha tries to calm herself and disappears from that place, but before that she gave Helion a disappointment looked

---------------

Helion looked at his mother, who looked scared at what happened.

He knew that Acantha’s power outbursts when her anger rises.

Her face when she looked at her with disappointment in her eyes lingers on his mind.

He had been a coward again.

That must be, she thought, he didn’t even stop his mother from insulting her.

Helion was about to go when he checked that everyone was fine when his mother grabbed him on his arm.

"Where are you going? Don’t tell me you’re going to chase that girl," his mother said as she looked very angry.

"Why do you keep on chasing that kind of girl? There are so many ladies here and outside who are waiting for you." She continued but Helion only looked at her with sadness in his eyes.

"You don’t understand , Mother," Helion said to his mother as he removed her arms from his.

"What don’t I understand?" His mother said as she looked at him with anger in her eyes.

"I love her..." Helion admitted, which made his mother lose her posture and look at him in disbelief.

"No, that can’t be true, right?" His mother asked as she clung to him.

"It’s true, but now it seems like I lost and disappointed the lady I loved," Helion said as he also disappeared from the place.

-----------

Acantha went to where her father was and saw that they were finished.

"Where have you been, Aki?" Her father asked her as he looked at her.

"Just look for some fresh air," Acantha casually said and didn’t mention what happened between her and the empress.

"Now, we need to go to the south," her father said, and they disappeared from the palace.

They didn’t see Helion, who was rushing to where they were.

When they arrived at the South, the people looked shocked when they saw her father.

"Duke..." The people whispered in shock and they also looked scared at the same time.

Acantha roamed her eyes and there she saw Lady Dreanna with Lady Roys, who was also present there.

It seems like the count and the baron had already told something, but not the part about her father.

"You’re alive..." She heard the people say as they all looked at him.

"Yes, I am very much alive," the duke said, which made everyone gasp at what her father said.

She heard them say something, but Acantha still can’t hear it as she walks away from them.

Her anger was still in the air, and she needed to breathe to calm herself down.

"Lady Acantha, it’s so nice to see you again..." She looked at Lady Dreanna, who followed her along with Lady Roys, who was smiling at her warmly.

"It’s nice to see you both, Lady Dreanna and Lady Roys," Acantha said as she looked at the two ladies.

She was really glad to see them alive after all; aside from the people in their house, these two ladies were the ones who were kind to her.

"You’re here in the south?" Acantha asked, as she didn’t know that they were here, and she was glad that they were here.

"We’ve been here since the duke told us to go here," Lady Dreanna said to her as they all sat on the grass.
