Villainess Want's To Ignore Them! -
Chapter 115: Tenebrisaya...
Chapter 115: Tenebrisaya...
Acantha and the others were walking when someone blocked their way; it seems like they were from the Tenebrisaya empire and were guarding the path.
"Stopped there." One of the knights who were guarding the border stopped them from entering.
"You’re not a Tenbresayan." The man didn’t ask, but he stated it.
Acantha looked at Fabian, who was now dressed as an old man.
"We are, we have been in the other empire last year, but now we’ve come to go home, as we heard that the border has opened." Fabian said as he didn’t even remove his eyes from the knight.
"Is that so? I heard there are still a lot of Tenbrisyan people living in that empire." The knight said as if it was forbidden to say their empire’s name.
"Can we enter now?" Zerth asked as he was dressed as a middle-aged man.
The knight scanned them again as if he was trying to double-check them before nodding and lifting the barrier to let them enter the place.
Acantha sighed in relief as she released her breath when they finally passed the border.
"Do you know this place? Or do you know anything in this place?" Acantha asked the three who were also looking around the place.
Acantha knew that they didn’t know anything from this place, as they didn’t answer her question.
Now, how can they manage being here without knowing anything?
They walked and the sun was already painful to her skin.
They can’t even use their power, as she knew Abanoon would know that they were already here.
She was really sweating hard as they were still no place that they could rest for a while.
Acantha looked around and saw that there was not even a single person who was passing there. It seems like people here were also not allowed to go to their border, not unless they came from Luminsarian and wanted to come home to Tenebrisya.
"Why does it seem like there are no people in this area?" Zerth was the one who voiced out what was running in her head.
"That’s what I also think; thank you for voicing out my thoughts." Acantha said at Zerth, who was still looking around, looking for someone they could ask for help.
"This seems bizarre; we all know how mad their emperor is, but I didn’t know it was to this extent." Fabian said as he was frowning while he was also looking around while they were still walking.
The place also looks so dry, like the plants look like they are all withered.
"This wasn’t the place as far as I remember. This place used to be barren, and only some people lived here as there was no source of food, but it seems like they constucted the place for many years." Flamear, said as he was in Acantha’s arms.
"Barren?" Acantha asked Flamear, who just nodded at her.
That must be the reason why the ground looks very dry and the reason why there are not many flowers or plants she sees while they are walking.
"My lady, we must take some rest first." Fabian said as he pointed to one willow tree, which seemed to be an answer for her tiredness as they had been walking for hours without using powers.
Tenebrisaya people have different powers; they don’t rely on mana stones or their knights, but they rely on the dark magic that was practiced by their own magicians, who she remembered attacked the palace back then.
Acantha unpacked the bag that Zerth was holding and she gave them some water and food.
"This is such a weird place; now I know why that damned mad emperor wanted to have our empire because of this." Diego said as he drank his water while eating some sandwiches, which the cook from Solaris had prepared.
"Yes, I remember how he kept on charging at the north; he wanted to have the magical forest too. As far as I know, the duke mentioned that they wanted the mine that was there and probably the divine beast who was sleeping there." Zerth said as he looked at Flamear.
Acantha already knew about it, as it was mentioned in the original story where they successfully got a hold of the north as she gave it up to Noraya.
She means the real Acantha gave it up to Noraya in exchange for the crown prince to marry her, which didn’t happen as the prince, Helion, outsmarted Acantha and got a hold of the place without marrying her.
Acantha ended up being chased and eventually died inside the magical forest.
Flamear looked at her, and Acantha couldn’t read what he was thinking.
"We should hurry to their capital before some of their soldiers corner us again and ask some questions." Acantha said this as she put her things back after she finished drinking and eating her food.
But first she needed to find some loo.
She went and told them what she needed to do, and the four only nodded at her and said they would guard the place so no one could disturb her.
Acantha went inside the bushes to pee; after all, she hadn’t peed ever since they went here.
After she finished, she went back to where the others were and saw that they were still waiting for her.
They started walking again, and it seems like they can finally see some small village not so far away.
Acantha and the others hurried to go there.
-----------
When they finally reached the place, they were surprised at what they were seeing.
It was awful...
The people here look like they were abandoned by their own empire.
"Pardon for the disturbance, but do you have some place where we could stay?" Zerth asked one of the elderly men who looks so thin.
"You’re not from here, young man." The man said as he eyed Zerth, who was disguised as a young man.
"We’re travelers from Luminisarian." Fabian was the one who answered the man’s question.
"From Luminisarian? And you’re still alive?" One of the villagers said, as he looked shocked at what they said.
"Yes, we were originally from here, but we lost our way and lost our things when we were traveling from here." Acantha said this as she looked at the old man in front of her, who she was sure was the head of this village.
"Ah, that must be..." The man behind the village chief said as he nodded his head at them.
"As much as we want to help you, you see, we don’t even had enough food for us." The chief said to them as he pointed to his people, who look very... very bad in conditions.
"We were just looking for a place where we could stay; besides, we have enough food that we could share with everyone if you’ll let us." Acantha said as she was convincing the people to let them in, as there was not even a place they could stay.
And besides, she wanted to help these people who looked like they were all one step from meeting death.
She saw the people’s eyes twinkle when she said those to them.
"You could stay with us then," the village chief said as he led them the way to his house, which looks very dark and the only light he had was a small lamp.
Acantha asked Fabian and others to put down her bag and give some of the food for the people to eat.
"It has been years since we have eaten enough food," the village chief said as he looked at his people as they were eating the food inside her bag.
"What happened here, if you may not mind it?" Acantha asked as she frowned at the man, who just sighed at her questions.
"It was almost twenty years back then when we helped some soldiers from Luminsarian escape from the hands of our mad emperor, not just soldiers but also those women they captured to become their slaves." He said he seems to be reminiscing about something by the way he looked at people who were there.
"We were not supposed to be here; this place wasn’t ideal for living, and we were exiled in our empire, but since they couldn’t afford to send people from Tenebrisaya to the enemy empire as it was a sign of defeat according to our emperor, that’s why he put some necklaces on our necks, to detect whether we tried escaping from this place or not." The chief said as he showed her the necklace that was made of metal on his neck.
Damn, how could they carry that thing on their neck? It looks very heavy.
"Some women here were originally from Luminsarian who tried escaping, and they built their own family here now as we had no choice; even though we wanted to go back from where we came from, we couldn’t. I already missed my family, who couldn’t even go here as per the decree of the emperor that no family could visit us here." He continued and he seemed to miss his own family.
Acantha looked at the necklace; they wouldn’t if she will use her power on it, right?
Unlike the teleportation, it would disturb some barriers that they set up in this place.
"I could help you with that one." Acantha said, which made the old man look at her surprisingly, mouth open.
