Villainess Want's To Ignore Them!
Chapter 106: The Trouble

Chapter 106: The Trouble

Acantha looked at her father when they arrived at their own house.

"Don’t put the Empress’s words on your head; they might think of you as a bad one, but I and the people in Klartis and Solaris think otherwise." The duke said as he kissed her forehead as he was assuring her.

Acantha just nodded at her father and walked to go to her room with Flamear.

When she was alone with Flamear inside her room, Acantha couldn’t help the tears in her eyes.

She was raised to be tough, but sometimes a person needs to break down no matter how strong they are; after all, she was still a human who had some feelings.

To be hurt...

To be disappointed...

To be happy...

To be sad...

or

to get angry....

Acantha lay on her bed as she looked at her ceiling; she was really tired...

It feels like her energy has been drained, that she just wanted to lie there and do nothing...

She just wanted to help, and yet people will always think the worst of her and even make their own scenario.

Like, she knew the real Acantha was bratty, but that was the cause of people saying it made her feel unwanted and useless...

But can’t people change?

They already painted her as the bad one even though she was just helping them...

Acantha slowly closed her eyes as she was really feeling tired and just wanted to sleep and shut down.

-----------------------------

The sunlight was already painful on her face when she woke up...

It seems like the other maids already opened her window but didn’t dare to wake her up.

She looked at her side and found that Flamear was already not there.

She stood up and walked to her bathroom, and she saw that everything had been prepared, even her clothes...

Acantha was looking at her mirror as she just finished dressing herself up when the door opened and she saw Mildred enter.

"My Lady, I brought your lunch." Mildred said as she looked at her.

Acantha noticed that Mildred looked bothered as she was looking at her; she could also feel that she looked worried about her.

"Where’s Father and Flamear?" Acantha asked as she walked to the table on her balcony to eat her lunch.

"His grace and Flamear went outside to redo the barriers." Mildred said as she looked at her.

"What do you mean they redo the barriers?" Acantha said as she looked at Mildred as she was eating.

"His grace didn’t say anything about about why he was redoing it," she said, as she looked away.

And Acantha could feel that there is something more than that.

After she finishes her lunch, Mildred serves her some tea and dessert and goes to bring the dishes she just ate.

She was just busy enjoying the nature when she heard some noises down.

"Have you heard?" the woman she recognized as the maid who loves gossiping. Though she hates gossip, it was also a good source of information.

Just like from the world she was from.

People love talking shit and minding someone’s business like their own...

And that’s why instead of getting mad about it, she just viewed it as passing some information, but of course that information was just like, not a hundred percent sure or proven...

Regardless, at this time, there was no internet, no social media...

"Yes, I was at the plaza market when someone yelled at me, saying I work for the witch who brought chaos in our empire," the woman said as she looked at her friend.

"Me too, Cecil." The maid said as she looked at her friend, her eyes widening, "The one who was selling some fruits even dared to corner me to say that Lady Acantha was the one who made this curse in our empire." She continued and looked at the woman in front of her.

"They were really rude, Maita," the maid named Cecil said as she looked at her friend. "Lady Acantha and the others were helping everyone. I know that our Lady was bad in the past, but why do people seem to only notice the bad things she did in the past?" Cecil said as she looked at Maita, who was also ready to fight someone by the look on her face.

"There are some people who also went here in the morning, and good thing that the duke and Flamear put some barriers or else this place would be on fire again." Maita said as she looked worried.

Acantha now gets why Mildred looked bothered and looked worried when she was watching her.

And also her father must warn Mildred not to say anything to her, as he knew that it would probably bother her, just like last night.

Now, she has lost all her appetite.

Acantha walked to her bed and buried her face on her pillows and she heard the door open again.

"Did she eat?" She heard a voice, which she knew was from her father.

"Yes, your grace." Mildred said and she heard some plate sounds, and it seems like Mildred got the remaining plates that still have some dessert.

"You mustn’t tell her what happened this morning." The duke warned Mildred and by the sounds of it, he was taking some steps.

"Tell me what, Father?" Acantha asked as she got up from her bed.

"You’re awake." The duke said and he probably knew that she was awake.

"The rumors about you being the one who caused the chaos across the empire have spread. People went here to look for you to make you admit that you were the one who caused his." The duke said as he sighed in defeat.

Acantha looked at her father, like she was surprised at how people condemned her for things she never did.

"Why do they think it was me?" Acantha asked as she sighed helplessly.

"That’s because you gained power, not just ordinary power, but you became very powerful." The duke said as he walked towards her.

He sat beside her and caressed her hair.

"Don’t worry; no one can enter the duchy or the north now." The duke said as he was still caressing her, as he was now hugging her, making her feel like she was protected even though he knew that she had some power to protect herself.

For once,

Acantha just wanted to be selfish and wanted to left the people who made her feel bad...

-------------------------

Helion woke up in the afternoon; his head still hurts after what he had seen last time.

He can’t believe that he was looking for Solaia, but Solaia’s face looked so much like Acantha.

Their powers were the same...

Could it be that Solaia was reincarnated as Acantha?

He looked at his door when he heard the door open, and he saw that Ernie and Jarnus had entered his room.

Helion frowned; as far as he knew, they were supposed to be in the Solaris.

"Are you alright, Your Highness?" Jarnus asked him as he sat on his bed.

"What are you both doing here?" Helion asked as he frowned at the two.

He saw how they looked at each other, and Helion didn’t know, but he got worried.

He was getting worried that something might happen while he was asleep.

"Did something happen in the duchy?" he asked as he put his hand on his head, as it was still aching.

"You’re awake." He looked at the person who entered and there he saw his father with Hernand.

But Helion’s mind was still on his question that Jarnus and Ernie still haven’t answered him.

"I am fine, Father." He said as he looked at his father when he remembered something. "What about Mother?" He asked as he remembered his mother, who was sleeping the other day and having some nightmares.

"Your mother was already fine; we just made her take some rest." Hernand was the one who answered and he looked at him.

Helion noticed that both men looked restless and bothered by the way they were looking at him.

"Where’s the duke?" He asked as he was really getting worried, as the two who were in the corner still had their mouths shut.

Helion saw that Hernand looked at his father as if he was asking for permission and -

"The duke was fine. You need to get rest. I think you still lacked some sleep." Hernand said as he looked at him.

But Helion can sense that there was something off with them.

"What about, Lady Acantha?" He continued to ask coldly, as he was really getting pissed off not getting some right answers.

"She was fine." They all looked when his mother entered the room.

"Mother..." Helion said as he frowned at her.

Isn’t she supposed to be taking a rest just like what his father said to him?

"Aren’t you supposed to be still in your bed?" Helion said as he looked at his mother. He was glad that she was okay, and he was still worried about her condition.

"I’m alright; I already get enough sleep. You should be the one who should get some rest. I heard from Hernand that your body may be healthy, but it looks tired." His mother said as she sat beside him and held his hands.

"I’m fine; I will go to the Solaris with Jarnus and Ernie. It seems like something happened there." He said as he stood up from his bed.

He saw everyone pause and stiffen at what he said.

Now, he was really sure something happened.

"You can’t go there, Helion." His mother said as she stopped him from taking a step far from his bed.

"Why?" He asked as he frowned at his mother.

"Well, you can’t," his mother said as she looked calm and was even raising her eyebrows at him.

"What do you mean?" He asked and he saw everyone looking on the floor.

Helion looked at Ernie and-
