Chapter 490: Chapter 490 Jin Beibei’s Misunderstanding
"Don’t move."
Li Feng was thinking when suddenly a handgun materialized at the back of his head. Ryan glanced at Eiffel, who lay on the ground.
Damn it.
He hadn’t expected that he hadn’t killed the target yet and had run into another group of assassins here. Eiffel’s death was truly unjust.
Buddy, I’ll avenge you.
Ryan didn’t shoot but instead drew the dagger from his leg and slashed towards Li Feng’s throat. At that critical moment, Li Feng violently jerked his head backwards, slamming it into Ryan’s groin.
At the same time, he stood up, lifted Ryan overhead, and flipped him down. Ryan tumbled over Li Feng and rolled away.
Li Feng touched his neck. He had nearly been hit in a vital spot. Ryan rolled for a bit and then crashed into a tree, halting his roll. Grimacing in pain, he got up and looked at Li Feng.
"You’re Li."
It was only now that Ryan saw Li Feng’s face clearly. He hadn’t been the one fighting below; Ryan was astonished. He had mistaken Li Feng for the accomplice of the other assassin.
Li Feng snorted.
"Mercenary, daring to step foot in Yan Country? Since you’ve come, don’t bother leaving."
Ryan looked at Li Feng with a smirk. "Just you saying that? Besides, Yan Country is forbidden territory, as you say, but we never agreed to that."
"The only reason we don’t set foot in Yan Country is because it’s too restrictive here. Anyway, why am I even explaining this to you?"
"I was actually finding it difficult to kill you down there, but since you’re courting death yourself, I’ll oblige."
Li Feng looked at Ryan and raised his hand. Ryan’s eyes bulged in disbelief. "You!"
Bang.
Li Feng shot the gun directly at Ryan’s forehead. "Idiot, why would I fistfight when I have a gun?"
The gunshot was very loud in the quiet of the night, audible even from the funeral hall. Bai He glanced towards the opposing hill.
"Stop fighting, let’s go up."
There had been gunfire on the other side. Regardless of the outcome, there was no need to keep up the act here. That’s right—it was all an act.
With Li Feng’s skills, how could he possibly engage in such a tight struggle with Chen Muyang, rolling on the ground? It was naturally for Li Feng to perform the Golden Cicada Shells; the moment the bodyguards surrounded him, he had switched places with one of them.
He had let the bodyguard fight Chen Muyang while Li Feng seized the chance to sneak towards the sniper on the barren ridge.
"Hah, hahaha."
Chen Muyang lay on the ground, suddenly bursting into loud laughter. "Mr. Li, I bet you won’t survive this."
Hearing the gunshot, Chen Muyang subconsciously thought that Li Feng had been taken down since the assassin he had hired this time was very skilled and specialized in firearms, and what use was Kung Fu to Li Feng?
No matter how skilled the Kung Fu, it’s no match for bullets.
Bai He had just reached the foot of the mountain when Li Feng descended from the summit. Bai He hurriedly approached. "Young Master Feng, are you injured? That gunshot earlier...!"
Li Feng huffed. "You would never guess. It wasn’t just one group wanting to kill me, but two, and those two groups of dogs bit each other and perished together."
Bai He was stunned at the news. "Two groups?"
Bai He swallowed hard, unconvinced that both groups had wiped each other out. It was possible they fought and that someone died, but the one dealing the finishing blow...
"I understand." Bai He held his tongue.
Li Feng took out his phone and called Jin Beibei.
Jin Beibei was at a gathering with friends and saw the incoming call.
"Beibei, who is it? Someone calling at this hour must be your boyfriend."
"It’s nobody. I’ll go take the call."
Jin Beibei said as she stood up.
"What’s the matter that can’t be discussed here?"
"Yeah, got some secrets to whisper, don’t we? Like it or not, the bride’s got to meet the in-laws sooner or later, so might as well call them over for a stroll."
Jin Beibei rolled her eyes, "Like I already said, no. It’s a call from the station."
"Tch, boring, Jin Beibei, you’re on your way to becoming a Saint."
Jin Beibei walked out and answered the phone directly, "Hello, what do you want from calling me?" Jin Beibei was biting her lip.
"Not for anything specific, can’t I just call you?"
said Li Feng.
Jin Beibei rolled her eyes again, "If you’ve got something to say, spit it out. I’m really busy here, okay?" Jin Beibei thought about those days when she was undercover, bullied by Li Feng, and now, this guy didn’t even bother to make amends. Instead, he’s got his sights set on the Lady of the Century Group’s chairman.
A total scumbag.
Jin Beibei found it embarrassing to associate with him, let alone give him any attention.
"You have to come here, busy or not."
Jin Beibei chuckled, "Li Feng, who do you think you are? You think you’re Zhao BoWei or something?"
Jin Beibei was referencing the latest internet sensation, a fresh-faced idol called the Puppy King, whom many girls were crazy about.
What’s with this woman’s attitude? Is it that time of the month or something?
"There were gunshots here, just so you know. Your call if you want to come." Li Feng ended the call there and then.
"Hello? Hello?"
Jin Beibei stared at her hung-up phone, grinding her teeth. Li Feng, you asshole, would it kill you to sweet-talk someone for once?
Feeling irate, Jin Beibei stormed back to her booth, picked up her bag, "Something’s come up at the station; I’ve got to go now, I’ve already paid for my meal."
"Hey, Jin Beibei."
"Forget it, you can’t stop her. I mean, look at her; from her family background, why even be a cop? Now she’s turning into a total tomboy. Who’d dare date her?"
"You know plenty of people. Can’t you set her up with someone? You can’t just let her turn into a complete mannish woman."
"Fine, I’ll try."
Jin Beibei drove at breakneck speed until she arrived at the small hill park, "Li Feng, where are you?"
Li Feng saw Jin Beibei and looked puzzled, "It’s just you?"
"So what, you expected me to bring a whole entourage or something? Li Feng, I think we really need to talk."
Jin Beibei was biting her lip; she didn’t want to drag this on anymore. She had been dreaming about this jerk.
Li Feng looked at Jin Beibei, who seemed rather serious, "Maybe you should call your criminal police team first."
Jin Beibei looked at Li Feng, "Li, what do you mean? I wanted to talk about us."
"Us, is there a problem?"
"You!"
Jin Beibei was so frustrated when Bai He walked over, "Young Master Feng, three bodies were found on the mountain, along with two rifles and three handguns, and several daggers!"
Jin Beibei was about to lose her mind, but Bai He’s words made her spin around, "What did you say?"
"I told you over the phone, I heard gunshots, so I called you. Who knew you’d come alone?"
said Li Feng.
Jin Beibei turned her head to look at Li Feng, "I thought you were lying."
Li Feng blinked, and Jin Beibei’s face turned a bit red; annoyed, she glared at Li Feng, "Who told you to hang up before you made it clear?"
"And why the hell do you report shootings to my phone? You think my mobile is the emergency number?"
"Isn’t it?"
