Chapter 44: Chapter 44 I Have a Bit of Germaphobia

Qi Haomin sat in his office, staring out at the pitch-black night, recalling everyone in Huacheng with the ability to confront him, analyzing who was most likely and capable.

But every time he thought of a name, Qi Haomin would eventually dismiss it. Given Sihai Group’s status today, a comprehensive shutdown was simply impossible in Huacheng, not to mention Su Province as a whole. He, Qi Haomin, was no pushover for anyone to squeeze.

He wasn’t without enemies, but his enemies lacked the strength to put on such a big show.

Who could it be?

"Ah, please spare me, I’m really going to die."

Zhou Zhishan pleaded repeatedly, sensing that today, Li Feng’s anger was stronger, was it because of Zhang Xin outside?

"She probably hasn’t left yet." Zhou Zhishan looked at Li Feng and ventured a guess. Li Feng looked down at Zhou Zhishan.

"Do you know what you are saying?"

Zhou Zhishan bit her lip, clearly sensing the hostility in Li Feng’s tone, as she coyly writhed and said, "But I really can’t bear it anymore."

Li Feng rolled over onto the bed, and Zhou Zhishan turned her head to look, flipping over to lie on Li Feng’s chest.

"You’re angry, so why don’t you punish her? You’re already divorced and she’s no longer your sister-in-law."

Li Feng looked at Zhou Zhishan, who was egging him on, and smacked her with his hand. Zhou Zhishan yelped in pain, tears welling up as she looked at Li Feng.

"Even if you’re annoyed, I still have to say it, you’re using me as a punching bag right now. You actually care about what Zhang Xin said, don’t you? You’re upset. You’ve been sincerely devoted, only to be treated like a lapdog, a loser."

"You wanted to be the bad guy, so why not go all out? What’s stopping you? Could it be you still pine for that past relationship?"

Zhou Zhishan harbored deep resentment towards Zhang Xin. If not for Zhang Xin, she would never have had to take out high-interest loans. If not for Zhang Xin, she would not have been used by Li Feng as a tool and possession. Zhou Zhishan had accepted this reality, but thinking back, she still felt stifled.

She wanted Zhang Xin to experience this painful yet joyful process.

Li Feng looked at Zhou Zhishan, the corner of his mouth twitching up: "Do you really think sleeping with Zhang Xin would be revenge against her?"

"Isn’t it?"

"Fine!"

Li Feng flipped Zhou Zhishan aside, and with an "ah," she rolled away, watching as Li Feng got out of bed and opened the bedroom door. Zhou Zhishan suddenly regretted speaking her mind. Why did she have to say that?

Li Feng walked out of the bedroom. Zhang Xin had not left; she did not want to go back to her room. She was frightened inside, afraid the police would come for her at any moment.

Damn Li Feng.

Zhang Xin picked up the glass and gulped down a mouthful of strong alcohol, coughing violently.

Zhang Xin coughed harshly for a while, then, looking down, saw a pair of legs and looked up: "Li... Feng."

Li Feng grabbed Zhang Xin’s arm and hoisted her over his shoulder, carrying her into the bedroom before she fully realized what was happening.

"Li Feng, what are you doing!"

Zhang Xin was dumped onto the bed and looked up at Li Feng, her heart starting to panic.

"Isn’t this the result you wanted?"

Zhang Xin, stunned by Li Feng’s advance, instinctively reached out her arms to block him but was immediately pinned down by Li Feng.

"Brother-in-law, please no..."

Li Feng leaned over her but did not move; Zhang Xin was crying out in refusal, yet she closed her eyes as if resigning herself to her fate.

Li Fengtu suddenly let go and got up. Zhang Xin, sensing something was wrong, opened her eyes to see Li Feng standing up and leaving, and immediately sat up, "Li Feng, what do you mean by this!"

"I just remembered that I’m a bit of a germophobe."

Zhang Xin sat on the bed, her almond eyes wide open in shock as she stared at Li Feng: "Li Feng, you bastard."

Zhou Zhishan, sitting to the side, burst out laughing. This man was truly wicked, to push someone to the edge and then stop to say he had germophobia, a blow worse than a slap to a woman’s face.

Zhou Zhishan looked at Zhang Xin’s furious expression, and suddenly all her anger dissipated, the previous frustrations vanishing like smoke.

"What do you have left to be proud of, Zhang Xin? Even when you throw yourself at someone, they don’t want you."

Li Feng stepped down from the podium, wrapped himself in a bathrobe, poured himself a glass of wine, and looked at Zhang Xin, who was staring coldly at him.

"You want that USB drive."

"What new trick are you going to play on me now?" Zhang Xin clenched her teeth, glaring at Li Feng with venomous eyes.

"Make a phone call to your cousin, and I’ll give you the USB drive."

Li Feng squinted at Zhang Xin.

Zhang Xin looked back at Li Feng. She wasn’t foolish; she understood that Li Feng’s intentions laid far beyond the pleasures of drink. "What do you mean?"

Li Feng took a sip of his wine.

"Exactly what you’re thinking. Make that call, the USB drive is yours. I’m giving you ten seconds to decide. If you don’t agree, the offer is void, and as for that USB drive..."

"It would be just perfect to warm up the atmosphere."

"Li Feng, you’re shameless." Zhang Xin looked at him with teeth clenched.

"Thank you for the compliment."

Li Feng responded with a retort: "You have five seconds left. Four, three, two...!"

"I’ll do it."

Zhang Xin capitulated, just like she had so many times before. Falling deeper each time, she directly dialed Zhang Xue’s number.

After two beeps, Zhang Xue answered.

"Zhang Xin, I don’t have time for idle chat right now. If there’s nothing important, hang up and we can talk later."

"Sis, don’t hang up."

"What’s the matter?"

Zhang Xin looked up at Li Feng, completely at a loss for words, then just as she was about to say something, Li Feng typed out a line of text and handed it to Zhang Xin.

"My brother-in-law."

"Zhang Xin, you know what’s going on. Alright, I’ll talk to you about it later."

"No, it’s not that, Sis. It’s your ex-husband, Li Feng."

"Hmm."

Zhang Xue’s brow furrowed: "Zhang Xin, why bring up that loser?"

Zhang Xin took a deep breath: "Sis, he’s right next to me."

"He’s right next to you? What do you mean?"

"We’re in a hotel."

Zhang Xin bit her lip, looking at the words on Li Feng’s phone. She sensed what Li Feng intended to do, but she went along with it nonetheless, driven not just by the need for that USB drive but also feeling a strange sense of pleasure.

"What are you two doing at a hotel, Zhang Xin? Has he kidnapped you? Put Li Feng on the phone."

Zhang Xue stood up abruptly from the sofa. Why would her cousin be with Li Feng, that bootlicker, especially in a hotel? The only logical explanation was that her cousin had been kidnapped by him.

"My sister wants you on the phone."

Li Feng took the phone and activated the speakerphone: "Are you okay, Zhang Xue?"

"Li Feng, you spineless wretch, release my sister immediately, or I’m calling the police to report a kidnapping."

Zhang Xue’s tone was icy as she demanded.

"I haven’t kidnapped her. She insisted on coming to see me. You can rest assured, I won’t lay a finger on her."

"Li Feng, if you dare touch her, I won’t let you off the hook, you loser, lapdog, waste of space."
