Chapter 338: Chapter 338: Pining for Life and Death
Li Feng clung tightly to Kang Yu’s thighs, standing dumbfounded at the dock was Bai Lang, while Kang Yu, whose legs were being embraced, also felt a bit uncomfortable.
"Yu Shao, is this the guy you mentioned who took down dozens of my men?"
Beside Kang Yu stood a middle-aged man with a large beard and a vicious scar slashing across his left eye, exuding an overwhelming aura of bloodthirstiness. This man was also the head of security for the Kang Family.
Cough!
When the man beside him asked this, Kang Yu’s face couldn’t quite hide his emotions, but he was still quite pleased with Li Feng’s initiative to hold onto his legs. This brat had always been defiant, but now, he seemed to recognize the magnitude of the trouble he had stirred up.
"Zhao Chaotian, get up."
"I won’t get up, Yu Shao. I’m not even married yet, I haven’t taken a wife, and the Zhao Family has no heirs. Even if you don’t care about me, you must consider how loyally my second uncle has served you."
Kang Yu’s forehead was covered in lines of frustration.
The bearded man, squinting with his one good eye, looked at Li Feng: "Kid, I heard you took down several of my men by yourself."
Li Feng wiped away a crocodile’s tear, then looked up at the bearded man. He had noticed this fellow before; the scent on him was all too familiar to Li Feng. This bearded man was not simple.
"Are you talking about those skinny black monkeys?"
"They were just trash, really good at bullying women, though. A simple flick of my wrist and down they went. Taking them out was as easy as playing a game."
Li Feng’s face displayed a defiant smirk, filled with disdain for those skinny black monkeys.
Hearing Li Feng speak this way, the bearded man’s mouth curled into a smirk: "Saying my men are trash, not bad, not bad at all."
Li Feng looked warily at the bearded man: "What do you want to do? Just so you know, I’m Yu Shao’s man. If you touch me, Yu Shao won’t stand by idly."
Although Kang Yu knew that Li Feng was using him as a shield, he still felt good about it.
The bearded man chuckled, "Kid, you’ve killed some of my men and insulted them to my face. Even if you hide behind Yu Shao, it’s no use."
"Unless...!"
"What do you want?"
Li Feng looked at the bearded man with caution.
The bearded man squinted and said, "Do you want to live?"
"What kind of question is that? Who wants to die?"
"Good. If you want to live, then prove your ability," said the bearded man.
Li Feng was taken aback, looking up at the bearded man: "What do you mean?"
The bearded man didn’t answer Li Feng but instead blew a whistle. At that moment, several lean soldiers burst out from the military barracks behind them.
"It’s simple. Either you take them down, or they take you down."
Li Feng cursed under his breath as he scanned the private security rushing out: "Why don’t you give me a gun, then?"
"You should have been unarmed on the ship as well."
Li Feng, seeing the cruel smile on the bearded man’s face, cursed again: "You’re ruthless."
With a tip-toe spring, Li Feng shot out like a cannonball, while the slender natives who had come out of the barracks saw Li Feng fleeing and started whooping as they took the guns from their hands, and without a second word, started firing at Li Feng’s back.
Li Feng rolled out in a donkey-drop move, bullets whizzing past him. Fortunately, the rainforest was just beside the barracks; he dived in and his figure vanished amid the dense rainforest area.
Kang Yu watched the scene, his face stiffening, "Captain Ma, aren’t you going a bit too far?"
Ma Zhanshan, watching Li Feng flee into the rainforest, turned his head to Kang Yu, whose expression was unchanged, "Young Master Yu, the Family Head assigned this matter to me, I naturally have to give an explanation to my men."
"You could’ve given an explanation without going to this extent."
Kang Yu spoke with a gloomy face, sending so many fully armed security guards to kill an unarmed man, this so-called explanation was just bullying.
Ma Zhanshan remained unbothered, "But you said he killed half a platoon I sent, without proof. How am I to be convinced? Even if I am, who among my men would believe it?"
"So, the simplest way is to do it again."
"If he’s alive, people will listen to what he says, and nobody else will have objections."
Li Feng escaped into the rainforest and immediately hid behind a tree, cursing under his breath. This bearded man was truly ruthless, using the lives of so many of his men to test Li Feng’s mettle.
Ruthless and cold-hearted.
But it had been a long while since he had fought so freely. Li Feng’s ears twitched; he moved through the rainforest like a ghost.
Though he was unarmed and his pursuers were more than fifty fully armed Kang Family private guards, according to his previous encounters, these skinny black guards were just a rabble with some training, far from elite.
Li Feng was not looking down on these skinny monkeys.
Li Feng first created some distance, letting the pursuers spread out, and he began to set up hunting traps using vines in the rainforest. Although these traps couldn’t kill, they could distract Li Feng’s pursuers.
After arranging seven or eight traps, Li Feng suddenly appeared within the enemy’s line of sight.
"There!"
With a shout, over a dozen men pursued Li Feng. He moved agilely through the jungle, and the skinny guards, also adept at rainforest combat, kept up the relentless chase.
Suddenly, during the dogged pursuit, one of the skinny guards got caught by the ankle. Before he could react, he was hoisted into the air by a strong force.
Instinctively, the skinny guard pulled the trigger, and bullets sprayed wildly, hitting two or three of his own men.
The chaos among the pursuers grew, and the faces of these skinny indigenous guards turned ugly, realizing that so many of them had been outsmarted by a single skinny monkey.
This was intolerable.
As one of the skinny indigenous guards screeched in panic, the remaining pursuers pressed on. However, with more and more of their own getting caught in traps along the way, the pursuit started to turn frantic.
Li Feng let out a cold smile as the continuous traps slowed the chasers’ steps. He swiftly scaled a large tree to hide among the branches, holding his breath.
In a short while, pursuers passed under the tree where Li Feng was hiding, unaware of his presence above, still thinking he was ahead and fleeing.
Li Feng quietly counted the men running past and, like a gecko, silently climbed down the trunk and doubled back.
He was looking for a timing advantage.
Li Feng used the rainforest’s cover to quickly reappear near a trap where one skinny guard had just been released.
Just you guys.
Li Feng, agile as a leopard, silently approached the skinny guard from behind and tapped him on the shoulder.
