Urban's Fury: The War Dragon God -
Chapter 339: Ghost
Chapter 339: Chapter 339: Ghost
The lean guard twisted his head and only then caught a clear glimpse of Li Feng’s face. Instinctively reaching for his gun, he was not fast enough as Li Feng twisted the guard’s head with both hands.
*Crack.*
With a light motion, Li Feng snapped the guard’s neck. The lean guard fell to the ground, silently, without even a scream.
Just then, by his side, his partner finally noticed Li Feng, who appeared like a ghost, "You!"
Before the guard could react, Li Feng raised his palm and struck him on the chin, shutting him up. The next moment, Li Feng’s elbow encircled the man’s head, and with the same move, he twisted and broke the guard’s neck.
The spine is undoubtedly one of the most vulnerable parts of the human body, and a broken spine almost certainly means death. The two lean guards thus lay soundlessly on the ground. Li Feng, looking at the collapsed pair, merely crouched over them, took a dagger and a handgun along with several magazines.
Securing the handgun at his waist and the daggers on each thigh, Li Feng’s ears twitched at the sound of footsteps not far away.
Li Feng didn’t pick up the assault rifle. In the rainforest environment, an assault rifle wasn’t very effective and would hinder his movements.
He crouched low like a hunting leopard or cougar and silently approached the direction of the footsteps.
Five people.
Two looked disheveled and frantic, obviously the unlucky ones who had fallen into the trap earlier.
The five people were running in two rows, close to each other, quickly trying to catch up with the main group because someone had scouted ahead. Assuming there was no danger in the vicinity, they moved quickly while cursing under their breath.
Li Feng hid behind a tree, waiting for the five men to pass by his side, then suddenly burst forth, pulling out the daggers from his legs. One dagger sliced across one man’s throat.
The other dagger flew from his hand, nailing the soldier at the front directly in the back. The dagger penetrated the thin outer jacket, piercing through the back and out the chest. Instantly, the man fell to the ground.
In a moment, two were down. Li Feng leapt towards the nearest guard, raising his knee to knock the man over. At the same time, spinning his body 180 degrees, his dagger severed the throat of another guard turning towards him.
Blood sprayed, but Li Feng dodged nimbly, side-stepping the blood, his hand throwing another dagger.
The guard aiming his gun fell as the dagger struck his throat. Meanwhile, Li Feng drew another dagger from the leg of a nearby guard, throwing it instantly and eliminating another guard who lay on the ground still dazed.
Five men fell in a single breath, all by Li Feng’s hand. He selected two unused daggers and then disappeared into the jungle.
Li Feng didn’t seek out isolated soldiers to attack; the absence of his pursuers likely meant they had fallen into a trap and were injured. He ignored them and doubled back to trace those who were chasing him.
Hunting became anti-hunting in an instant.
Meanwhile, the bearded man arrived at the camp with Kang Yu. Inside one of the tents, which served as a command center, were various electronic devices.
Outside the tent, several drones were placed on the ground. As they were operated, the drones buzzed and lifted vertically into the air. Moments later, they darted towards the nearby jungle.
Soon, the drones inside the jungle made a discovery.
"There are corpses."
One drone hovered above a corpse, its attached camera sending clear images back to the tent. The island was small, and the installed signal towers allowed the information to be transmitted without any dead zones.
"Mr. Yu, your men are tougher than you think—five men, all killed with a single strike. Ruthless and decisive."
"Kang Yu, are you sure this guy is just a wastrel in Yan Country?"
Bearded man squinted his eyes as he looked at the bodies and commented a few times. As for feeling sad or heartbroken, those emotions seemed nonexistent, as if these people weren’t his subordinates.
"Even a cornered dog will leap over a wall, let alone a human."
Kang Yu offered in defense.
Bai Lang sucked in a cold breath as he looked at the bodies, thinking, what kind of demon is Zhao Xiaoxiao’s nephew? Being hunted by fully armed soldiers and he still dared to fight back.
Such a ruthless person, and he still dared to kill him.
Should he shake hands and make peace with him? Otherwise, he didn’t know if the other guy would end up dead, but he definitely wouldn’t have it easy.
Not long after, the drone discovered several more dead soldiers, all lying on the ground with twisted necks, obviously having had their heads twisted from behind.
The bearded man looked at the manner of death of these soldiers with a grim face. It wasn’t that their deaths were particularly gruesome, but from these dead bodies, he saw a possibility.
The hunter of this hunt had changed.
And afterwards, the scene seemed to validate the bearded man’s guess; corpses appeared one after another, as if the forest had turned into a graveyard.
"Shh."
The young drone operators also grew solemn; they were electronic geniuses and particularly sensitive to numbers. Just mentally tallying up the number of bodies found so far, more than half of the soldiers had been killed.
What the hell is this guy?
A young drone operator suddenly noticed something strange about the bodies and swallowed subconsciously.
No way.
From the looks of these bodies, it seemed as if they were chased down and killed, which suggested something. Originally, it should have been the guards who were the hunters, but now the situation had clearly changed, the hunter had become one person.
"Captain, I’ve tallied up the bodies, if we include the few injured who abandoned the pursuit earlier...!"
The thought was terrifying.
The young man gasped; almost the entire half company that went hunting was wiped out.
"The entire force is wiped out, is it?"
"Yes."
"And that’s not even the scariest part; the scariest thing is that we haven’t found him," another young man spoke gravely.
The four of them each operated a drone, and though this area of the forest wasn’t very large, just a few square kilometers, they had flown through the entire area and still failed to find the target.
Bearded man squinted his eyes: "Just fly straight back, there’re still some alive, right?"
"Kang Yu, you’ve really brought in a formidable guy this time."
