Chapter 188: Chapter 188: Smuggling Luxury Cars
"Feng, let me show you something good."
A burly man stepped forward and addressed Li Feng as if presenting a treasure. Li Feng grunted in response, signaling the man to lead the way. If this man called it good stuff, then surely there must be something valuable on this ship.
The container ship weighed a hundred thousand tons, large enough to cover several football fields, making walking on it feel as solid as on firm ground.
"Hey."
Jiang Linda tugged at Li Feng’s arm and whispered to him, "Who are these people, and why do they have guns?"
After noticing this, Jiang Linda couldn’t help but feel a bit panicked and at the same time, curious. She wondered why Li Feng was familiar with these people who addressed him as "Young Master Feng." He seemed to be the leader of the group.
Wasn’t he the son-in-law of the Wang family?
Li Feng turned his head to Jiang Linda and smiled slightly, "You’re asking about them?"
"They are mercenaries who don’t blink an eye at killing. Oh, and sometimes they moonlight as pirates. This ship is hijacked by them."
After saying this, Li Feng didn’t wait for Jiang Linda’s expression to stiffen any further and turned to look at a container opened by the mercenaries.
"Feng, look."
"This one is a brand-new limited edition luxury sports car. We just need a few people to assemble it back at the repair shop."
"And that’s not all, there are many more luxury cars of different brands in these containers."
Li Feng squinted and said, "Smuggling luxury cars, eh? That’s no small business."
"It’s more than just big, with this ship we’ve got at least this many."
The mercenary extended three fingers, indicating there were over three hundred luxury sports cars on the cargo ship.
The cheapest of these sports cars could cost three to five million in Yan Country. Of course, they were not as expensive abroad, and Li Feng knew that there were specialized car theft gangs targeting luxury vehicles abroad, a cost that still required millions even when minimizing expenses.
This meant a profit margin of at least one hundred percent.
Three hundred cars—that would mean these vehicles would be worth between one and two billion once sold.
"But these cars are not easy to deal with; after all, they are bulky goods, and without the right connections, it’s impossible to handle more than three hundred of them."
"Young Master Feng, the person you’re targeting this time has quite a hefty background."
The mercenaries weren’t foreigners; they had all left Yan Country and knew quite a bit about it.
To take in these three hundred smuggled supercars, one would have to consider the complicated web of interest behind them. Provoking the other party might not lead to good consequences.
"Heh, they may have a hefty background, but I enjoy stirring up a hornet’s nest."
After saying this, Li Feng took a satellite phone from one of the mercenaries. Here in a private maritime area, there were naturally no signals.
"Chairman Yuan."
"Young Master Feng, Brother Feng, Grandpa Feng, you’ve finally called me. About that misunderstanding we had before, do you think we can clear it up now? My ships..."
Listening to Yuan Hua’s anxious voice, Li Feng directly said, "If you want your ships back, that’s fine—I was just about to discuss the ransom with you."
"Ransom is easy to talk about. I’ll scrap together the money, even if I have to sell all I’ve got."
Yuan Hua didn’t hesitate at all; it was a matter of his life and assets now. If he couldn’t get his ships back, no amount of money would be of any use to him.
"I’ll give you the coordinates; sail here, and we’ll talk at sea."
After Li Feng finished speaking, he hung up the satellite phone and tossed it back to one of the mercenaries.
"Young Master Feng, do you think he’ll take drastic action?"
The head of the mercenaries asked Li Feng while listening in.
"With all the hints I gave him, he should probably resort to drastic measures," mused Li Feng, smacking his lips. Hearing this, mercenaries nearby smirked.
"Alright, then I’ll get the boys ready."
The mercenaries turned and left, while Li Feng turned around only to bump into the icy face of Jiang Linda, who had listened to the entire conversation between Li Feng and the mercenaries.
"Li Feng, what on earth are you planning?"
Li Feng looked at Jiang Linda with a mischievous smile, "Aren’t you just dying to unveil my secrets, find out why Yuan Hua is clinging to me, begging for my forgiveness?"
Jiang Linda bit her lip, "You conspired with mercenaries to steal his ship, you bandit, you’re committing crimes."
Li Feng faced Jiang Linda’s judging eyes, stepped forward, and she instinctively retreated to keep her distance from this dangerous man.
At first, she thought he was just some thug and pervert, but now, it seemed he was actually a pirate leader. And she had witnessed everything—would he kill her to silence her?
Li Feng cornered her against a container, and Jiang Linda, stubbornly defiant, looked back into his eyes. Li Feng spoke with a malevolent grin.
"I didn’t just snatch this one—I took all twenty of his ships that were out at sea, which is why he was so arrogant before, not taking us seriously. It didn’t take long before he was kneeling, begging me."
Jiang Linda’s chest heaved as she listened to Li Feng, "Are you bragging about being a pirate?"
Li Feng chuckled.
"You wanted the truth, right? I’ve given you the truth, but I wonder if your boss would believe the truth if you told him."
Laughing heartily, Li Feng turned and walked toward the helm. Jiang Linda watched his retreating figure, feeling bewildered herself.
Indeed, if she did tell someone, would anyone believe her?
As the sun was setting, a ship finally appeared on the horizon.
"Young Master Feng, a ship is approaching."
Soon enough, a fishing boat stopped right beside the container ship. Li Feng had a rope ladder thrown down, and Yuan Hua climbed aboard with several bodyguards.
"Director Yuan, it seems you’ve brought quite a few people."
Li Feng teased, looking at the bodyguards following Yuan Hua.
Yuan Hua coughed, "Li Feng, this is just for safety. Rest assured, I’m here with sincere intentions."
"Then please come inside."
Without further ado, Li Feng welcomed them into the steering house. The hundred thousand-ton ship had plenty of space inside, including a large dining area.
Yuan Hua sat down and looked straight at Li Feng, "Let’s get straight to the point, Li Feng. I’ve done everything as you asked. Isn’t it time you released my ships?"
Li Feng regarded Yuan Hua.
"If you had said this the first time I suggested it, we would all be content. But now things are different, Director Yuan. That ten million public relation fee was just to settle the dispute between you and Tong Qian."
"Now, I’m helping you deal with your twenty plus hijacked cargo ships. That’s a different issue."
Hearing this, Yuan Hua burst into rage, smashing his hand onto the table and standing up, "Li Feng, don’t push it too far. It was you who hijacked my ships, and now you’re offering to handle public relations?"
"Do you have no shame?"
