Chapter 172: Chapter 172: Enemies on a Narrow Road
Zhou Jie thought darkly, Myth Communication was never that strong to begin with, and with his departure, it was as if nobody was left to shoulder the burden. Just judging by the Li surname’s behavior, when trouble struck again, it would be the doom of Myth Communication.
"Boss, boss."
"Uh-huh."
Zhou Jie looked towards his assistant Linda: "Linda, come have a drink with me."
A day flew by in the blink of an eye.
Li Feng, holding the invitation to the charity auction, arrived at Jiangshan International Hotel. This hotel was even larger than Outer Heaven, with a glittering golden lobby that was grand and majestic, exuding a sense of luxurious high class everywhere.
Li Feng didn’t rush to enter the auction hall; instead, he took out his phone to contact Wang Jin’er. Wang Jin’er replied that she was nearly there, so Li Feng stepped out of the hotel and went to the entrance.
At that moment, a luxury car pulled up at the entrance, its door facing Li Feng, who was standing there. Thinking it was Wang Jin’er, he reached out to open the back door.
Li Feng locked eyes with the person in the car for a moment, who first showed surprise, then curled their lips upward and stepped out.
"Tsks, isn’t that what’s-his-face? What’s the matter, working as a doorman here now?"
Lin Hao looked at Li Feng with a bit of a venomous gaze; it was really true that enemies often cross paths. Recalling how he had lost face in front of this man before and even suffered physical pain, Lin Hao wished he could kill him.
He had yet to make a move on his own when fate delivered his nemesis right before him, and it was indeed effortless to find what one sought without a broad search.
Li Feng also recognized Lin Hao, this guy who pursued Wang Jin’er, the second son of Sea City’s top ten Lin Family business conglomerates and recognized as one of the city’s ten outstanding young people. However, the man’s mind wasn’t very broad, making Li Feng wonder if his "outstanding" title came from his background.
"Tsks, weren’t you acting all high and mighty back in Huacheng? How did you fall so low, ending up in Sea City as a doorman? How does that saying go again?"
"Fortune turns."
Lin Hao stared at Li Feng, a cold smile curling his lips as he stretched out his hand to pat Li Feng’s face, "This, is Sea City, my territory."
"Oppa."
Just then, a charming voice came from inside the car, speaking in Southern Country language, "Oppa, is he a friend of yours?"
"Hello, I’m Cui Changjing." The other person gave a faint smile towards Li Feng after speaking a sentence in Yan Country language.
Li Feng’s gaze swept over the woman who walked out of the car, barely in her twenties, with long wavy hair draped over her shoulders and wearing an elegant evening gown that outlined a perfect figure.
Li Feng’s eyes moved from her prominent chest to her face, which had a bit of a SNSD-esque look, the face of an internet celebrity goddess, with large eyes, a graceful nose, and cherry lips, almost all perfectly exquisite.
"Looking at what, you poor dick?"
Lin Hao sneered coldly, then turned and explained Li Feng’s status to Cui Changjing by his side in Southern Country language, probably unaware that Li Feng understood eight languages, Southern Country language being one of them.
When Cui Changjing heard Lin Hao’s words, she realized the misunderstanding, he was just a doorman. Her prior politeness to Li Feng turned into aloofness.
Back in her hometown, the chasm between the noble Gate Valve families and the common folk was enormous; a doorman was merely one of the lower class, while she was a proud daughter of heaven, treating them with indifferent condescension was already a sign of her good upbringing.
Before Cui Changjing, Lin Hao didn’t find it appropriate to do anything, and he was also aware of Li Feng’s capabilities; should he really start a fight, it would only be humiliating for him.
There will be other days for us.
Lin Hao thought to himself, glancing up at Li Feng and fumbling in his pocket for his wallet, from which he took out several bills.
"Here’s your tip, since you’ve come to Sea City, let’s settle our scores slowly."
Lin Hao looked scornfully at Li Feng as he flung the money towards Li Feng’s face, then arrogantly wrapped his arm around Cui Changjing’s slender waist, preparing to leave with a swagger.
"What’s wrong?"
In a luxury car behind another luxury car, a woman in the passenger seat turned her head to look at her companion in the driver’s seat.
"He is Li Feng."
"Hmm, he is Li Feng?" The beauty in the passenger seat looked in surprise at Li Feng, who was being slapped with money at the gate.
"So he’s the guy who rejected Shuangshuang? Tsk, he does have a good figure, but getting his face slapped with money is quite a loss of dignity."
Nolan Zhi watched the scene outside with a playful curl of her lips, "Do you think he’ll slap back?"
Fang Ting drew out a long "hmm."
"That guy walking inside seems to be Lin Hao from the Lin Family, the Second Young Master. I’ve heard some things about him; this guy is quite sinister, and he’s famously petty and intolerant."
"If Li Feng offended him, he’s probably in for some trouble."
Although Fang Ting didn’t spell out the outcome, her words already expressed her stance—Lin Hao was not to be trifled with, and Li Feng probably wouldn’t dare to strike back, especially if he knew who Lin Hao was.
"What, Nolan, you wouldn’t be favoring this Li Feng, would you? He wouldn’t dare to make a move, right? Let’s not even talk about this being the Sea City Grand Hotel; just Lin Hao’s identity alone is enough for him to beware of," Fang Ting said with a presumption, treating Li Feng as a playboy living off women, a person she genuinely looked down upon.
Li Feng bent down to pick up the money scattered on the ground, a scene noticed by Lin Hao as he passed by, who snorted in disdain through his nose: A poor wretch stays a poor wretch.
"What did I say."
Fang Ting wore an ’I-knew-it’ expression, while Nolan Zhi knit her brows but stayed quiet, just watching Li Feng.
It wasn’t worth continuing to test him if that’s all he amounted to; such men were a dime a dozen and not worth a second glance from them.
"Hey."
Li Feng picked up the money and called out.
"Are you calling me?"
Lin Hao stopped in his tracks. Clearly, Li Feng’s ’hey’ was directed at him. Lin Hao turned around with a defiant look on his face, curious to see what the doorman, Li Feng, wanted to do.
"You dropped your money."
Lin Hao stared blankly at Li Feng, who was handing over the money, and suddenly burst into a sneering laugh.
Ha ha, ha ha ha.
"Li Feng, are you a fucking idiot? I told you, that’s your tip. What, is it too little for you?"
Lin Hao pulled out his wallet again, directly took out a stack of money, and slapped it against his face. The feeling of slapping someone with money was just exhilarating, especially when it was someone like Li Feng.
"Is this enough?"
After saying that, Lin Hao tossed the money at Li Feng, and in an instant, dozens of bills fluttered over Li Feng.
"Are you using money to hit me?"
Li Feng looked blandly at Lin Hao.
Lin Hao laughed wildly: "You heard right, I’m smacking you with the money, how does it feel? You’d earn about this much in a month working as a doorman here, right? Pick it up; it’s all yours."
"What’s the matter, are you thinking of throwing a punch?"
"Li Feng, don’t say I didn’t warn you, this is Sea City, my turf, you dare touch me, just try."
Lin Hao looked at Li Feng with a cold and fierce glare, full of resentment from Huacheng and the previous humiliation in the hospital if it hadn’t been for his trip to the Peninsula, he would’ve settled things with Li Feng long ago.
