Chapter 158: Get Lost

Chapter 158: Chapter 158: Get Lost

Li Feng, Zhou Jie, and Linda took a boat to the Wanshan Archipelago, just off the coast of Sea City, and disembarked on one of the developed small islands.

This was a small fishing village that had been preliminarily developed, where most of the fishermen were engaged in the homestay business. At a homestay backed by mountains and facing the sea halfway up the island, Li Feng encountered Tong Qian, who was without makeup and looked somewhat haggard.

When Tong Qian caught sight of Li Feng, there was a glimmer of happiness, but her expression immediately turned cold when she saw the two people behind him.

"Miss Tong, I’m Zhou Jie from Myth Communication. May I have a word with you?"

Zhou Jie directly pulled out his business card and handed it over, but Tong Qian didn’t take it. Instead, she looked coldly at him, "If you’re here to persuade me, then you can go back now. I have nothing to say."

"And you, get lost too."

Tong Qian cast a cold look at Li Feng and suddenly turned to walk into the courtyard of the homestay.

"Boss, this is going to be tough. She’s very resistant; she won’t listen to anything we say right now."

Linda voiced softly on the side.

Of course, Zhou Jie understood: "I know, but now that it’s come to this, we can’t just be turned away after reaching her door."

Zhou Jie turned to Li Feng: "Li Feng, since you can get in touch with Tong Qian, you two must know each other. In that case, I’m leaving this matter to you; get her to give us a few minutes."

"As long as you manage this, I will recognize you as one of my subordinates."

"Heh."

Li Feng chuckled, ignoring Zhou Jie and pushing open the courtyard gate to enter. As for Zhou Jie’s appreciation, approval, he didn’t need it at all.

This Zhou Jie really was quite self-infatuated.

"Wait outside."

As he watched Li Feng enter the courtyard, disregarding himself, Zhou Jie felt a surge of anger.

You keep pretending.

After all, just a kept man.

Li Feng walked into the homestay, which had a rather spacious courtyard, and the owner had clearly put a lot of thought into it. It was a three-story building backed by mountains and facing the sea, combining traditional elements of a fishing village with a modern touch.

"What are you doing here? Get out!"

Tong Qian was a bit panicked, having expected a sympathetic ear but instead feeling "betrayed" - yes, that’s exactly what it was, a betrayal.

"Can you be a little calmer?"

"You’re asking me to calm down? Fine, I’ll calm down. So tell me, what are you here for? To persuade me to apologize to that filthy old man? Or just to kneel before him, saying I’m just a woman, I should endure?"

Tong Qian stared at Li Feng, her eyes red as she vociferously shouted and shoved at him.

Li Feng grabbed Tong Qian’s arm: "No one is telling you to do that. You are the victim here."

"Heh, nice words, but who knows what you’re really thinking? You’re probably thinking ’Tong Qian, just another woman from the entertainment industry; none of them are clean. It’s just an unspoken rule, why the big fuss?’"

"All you men are the same; you just want to play with my body, don’t you?"

"Tong Qian, quiet down. I can’t control what others think, but I will help you with this."

"You’ll help me?" Tong Qian looked at Li Feng and scoffed coldly: "What can you do to help me? Do you even know who the other person is, the extent of their connections in Sea City?"

"I just glanced at the business card of the person you brought. Myth Communication, right? They must be the PR hired by the other party."

"Are you here to help me or to help them?"

Li Feng’s gaze was intense as he looked at Tong Qian: "Tong Qian, listen to me. Even if we didn’t have that kind of past relationship, you are still my classmate, my friend. From any angle, I will help you."

"Just give me a few minutes to listen to what they have to say. Besides, if you have any demands or conditions of your own, feel free to tell me."

Tong Qian met Li Feng’s gaze and after a long pause, she spoke: "Fine then, let’s hear the conditions you propose. Call them up."

Li Feng hummed a response and walked downstairs.

"She has agreed. Come on up," Li Feng said, looking toward Zhou Jie and Linda.

Zhou Jie looked at Li Feng. He hadn’t expected this kept man to have such a "relationship" with Tong Qian, a popular starlet, and it seemed quite deep at that.

This fellow must be quite the connoisseur of living off women, otherwise, how could he have garnered the favor of Miss Wang from a wealthy family?

"Go on, state your conditions." Tong Qian, sitting in a wicker chair, looked at Zhou Jie and Linda across from her, her demeanor icy.

Zhou Jie didn’t dawdle: "Miss Tong, as per our client’s request, we can offer you a certain amount of financial compensation, including the promise of a lead role in a film."

"In return, you only need to cooperate by releasing a statement, claiming that the video fragment was actually a scene from your upcoming movie."

Tong Qian looked up at Zhou Jie: "Heh, whose brilliant idea was that? ’A scene from an upcoming movie,’ they say it so casually."

"Miss Tong, you are Sea City’s upcoming star. Your future is boundless. If you insist on dwelling on this matter, it won’t bode well for you."

"And by offending such a capital investor, have you considered the consequences? If things really come to a head, you’re just a star, not irreplaceable."

"Besides, you should know people’s attention these days is fleeting. The issue is trending now, but what about in ten days, half a month?"

"There’s never a shortage of news in the entertainment circle; in a few days, more sensational news will emerge, and by then, your issue will sink into oblivion, and no one will remember what happened before."

"Miss Tong, as long as you agree, we can negotiate the money, and the promised role will be yours immediately. I understand the film in question has a budget in the hundreds of millions; if you play the female lead, you’ll surely rise to greater fame."

"Your career will reach new heights, and appearances on variety shows, endorsements, will come pouring in. People may compete with each other, but never against money. Wouldn’t you agree?"

Zhou Jie looked at Tong Qian. She indeed was delicate and lovely, particularly with a natural star quality.

However, in the entertainment industry, there were no pure white lotuses. Life is but a play; it all comes down to acting. As for whether she would compromise, Zhou Jie didn’t doubt his own judgment.

Unless she could handle leaving stardom behind.

After listening to Zhou Jie’s pitch, Tong Qian wore a mocking smile and turned to Li Feng: "Is this the condition you wanted me to hear?"

"If that’s all, then you can leave. I won’t compromise on this matter. If he wants to smooth things over, he can issue a public apology. It’s my only demand."

"Miss Tong, you’re being impulsive. Think about your future."

Zhou Jie frowned, his gaze carrying a hint of threat as he looked at Tong Qian.

"Thank you for the reminder. Now will you please leave?" Tong Qian dismissively gestured them away, and seeing Zhou Jie’s reaction, she added, "Miss Tong, we will take our leave for now. Think it over when you’re calm. Here’s my card."

"You can call me anytime."

Zhou Jie then turned and left with Linda.

"And you, get out with them." Tong Qian grabbed a water cup from the table and threw it at Li Feng.
