Chapter 146: Japan. (1/2)
"Eh! I didn’t say anything"
Lukas said, he was smiling and scratching his head foolishly, he was kind of embarrassed of thinking of her like this.
"My name is Nakayama Yaho." She bowed deeply and then said, "Let’s go. I will take you to your hotel now. You can also give me your luggage to carry."
Yahoo, saying this, tried to take the luggage from Lukas’s hand. Lukas shook his head and said he could take it by himself.
Yaho nodded her head politely, she was not going to force anything upon a guest. She then walked forward, and Lukas followed her from behind.
People in the airport were also looking at him when four security guards came out of nowhereand gave protection to Lukas.
"This is the package that was selected. Your package is Ultra VIP."
Yaho said when she saw Lukas was confused about the security guards, Lukas nodded his head. Yaho then took him to a luxurious car, it looked almost like a Mercedes, but it was not.
Lukas sat in the back, and Yaho sat beside him. She then said something to the driver, and the driver, nodding his head, drove forward.
"Your package was selected for two days, if you want to extend it, you will need Japanese yen. Should I call a private money exchange for you? Normal ones won’t convert huge amounts of dollars"
Yahoo said she was a very work-efficient person, and seeing Lukas, she could guess he was here to stay for a few more days.
"Eh! Per night is ten thousand dollars?"
Lukas asked with a shocked expression, he thought Coach had sorted his full stay with those twenty thousand dollars he gave him.
"It’s usually more, but you came in an off-season, apparently."
Yahoo said the car was moving from the heart of Tokyo. Lukas can see people were walking around, and although there was a huge crowd compared to Princeton, the sound was way less.
Japanese people love to be quiet just like this bloke beside me.
"Okay, call them up. I will be exchanging a hundred thousand dollars."
Lukas said, Yahoo! Hearing it, he bowed even while seated. Lukas felt a little uncomfortable seeing her bowing so much, but he can’t change her culture, so he has to getused to it.
It took ten minutes for the car to take him to his hotel. The hotel looked more luxurious than what he was used to in America. He was taken to the VIP parking, and then Yaho once again walked ahead, and Lukas followed, but this time a butler took Lukas’s stuff and followed them from behind.
Yaho took Lukas to the 25th floor. The entire floor has only four doors. Yaho took him to the right and opened the suite called ’The Imperial Suite.’
Entering, Lukas was shocked to see such a luxurious suite. His room had a full view of the Tokyo streets, which were sparkling with lights and full of activities.
Lukas then felt energetic, but looking at Yaho, she was tired, and if he guessed it correctly, she was his personal guide, and she wouldn’t be able to say no to his demands, and also she needed some rest.
"Okay, you can go now. Order me something to eat, then tell me where the gym is. I will spend time there."
Lukas said he was full of energy as if he just woke up, but looking at the clock, it was nine PM atnight.
"Yes, sir."
Yahoo replied that she felt like this guest was not that bad, she thought Lukas, as a young man from the US, would be bratty and would try to do a whole bunch of illegal things, but she was surprised how mature Lukas was.
Lukas, after eating some rice with Japanese-style curry, went to the gym. The gym was open 24/7, and he liked this feature. As he was about to enter the gym, he saw a person looking at him while squinting his eyes.
[Ding!!] Mission: Give an Autograph to This Fan. Minimum Reward: $1000
Lukas, seeing the notification, smiled. He was not certain what this man wanted, and this man looked quite awkward, and surely there was a language barrier between them.
Lukas shook his head with a smile towards the man. The Japanese man smiled and bowed deeply. Lukas gestured to him to not do such a thing, but he did it anyway and came closer, then bowed again deeply.
"You want an autograph?"
Lukas asked, he was not sure if this person could even understand him, but he had to try. The man nodded his head and then constantly bowed his head.
Lukas just grabbed his shoulder because this was making him a little uncomfortable, then he gestured, signing in the air to show the man he wanted something to write on.
The man was very clever and instantly understood, he ran and found a paper from somewhere and also brought a pen for Lukas to sign it.
Lukas, taking it first, wrote his name as well as he could in English, then looked at the man with a smile.
"Matsuhara Kento"
The man said it clearly, then Lukas wrote his name in English with a smile.
[Mission Completed.] Grade: A. Gave two autographs. Reward: $10,000
Lukas, while on the treadmill, smiled and, shaking his head, ran as fast as he could. Then he ran for two hours straight. He didn’t stop there, he also did push-ups and many cardio exercises.
After getting half tired, he went back to his room and took a shower, then tried to sleep. After tossing around, he finally fell asleep at one o’clock in the night. He woke up at five the next day. As usual, he went to the gym, and after coming back, he took a shower. He felt quite refreshed exercising so much.
Lukas, after taking the shower, went downstairs to eat breakfast in the in-house lobby. He was enjoying his freedom here, he didn’t have to hide his face, and that was good.
The hotel he was staying in was called ’The Peninsula Tokyo.’ It was a top five-star hotel, and there were many Western options, but Lukas went to the Japanese lobby, he wanted to try the Japanese dishes.
Lukas sat at the table, then saw Yaho coming towards him. He smiled and waved at her enthusiastically. She looked like she was not a morning person at all. She waved back, but she was not enthusiastic about it at all.
"Sir, I will bring what your tongue can handle. Wait here, please."
Yaho said she then went to the chef who was cooking live, and after talking with him, she even pointed in Lukas’s direction. Lukas smiled awkwardly, and the chef nodded his head and then worked more seriously than before, and before long, she returned with a plate full of fish.
"It’s called grilled Hokkaido salmon, a favorite dish of the Japanese people. Try it."
Yaho gave Lukas a nice-looking fish, it was perfectly red and looked delicious. Lukas looked at the dish and Yaho, who was looking at him like some kind of entertainment. He understood he had to eat in front of her so that she could calm down, she was thinking he wouldn’t be able to eat it and would bring a Western croissant with coffee.
Lukas ate the fish, it didn’t have any bones, surprisingly, and tasted a bit fishy. He smiled at Yaho after finishing eating, she nodded her head and went back to the chef to bring something Japanese again.
After she left, Lukas drank a bit of water. The fish was not bad, but he was not used to the fishy flavors. Then he saw Yaho coming with something else, so he sat down calmly.
"This is called tamagoyaki, omelette, made with egg, this should taste normal for you."
Yahoo, she said, and Lukas, after eating it, felt she was right, it did feel normal and tasty because he was used to the taste of eggs.
After that he was given miso soup with seasonal mushrooms and tofu. He rejected eating rice in the morning, he felt like rice was not an option for him in the morning. Then he was served some tea. He felt like the tea was not bad, the flavor it offered was very good, but the bitterness was getting to him.
Yahoo was drinking cup after cup. Lukas, after one cup, felt he was too awake and had to run around, the caffeine he suddenly got made him jumpy and very energetic.
After breakfast Yaho said she would take him to the East Garden of the Imperial Palace. Lukas nodded and then went upstairs to change his attire. After wearing his suit, he came down. As soon as he did, everyone in the hotel lobby looked at him simultaneously, and Lukas was used to it, so he just waved at them with a slight smile and went downstairs.
His car from yesterday was waiting for him. Yaho also accompanied him, she was also telling him about the castle and its importance in Japanese culture.
"This was the seat of the Tokugawa shōguns from 1603 until 1868."
Yahoo, said as the car entered the area. Lukas nodded and came down from his car and walked with Yahoo. There were also four guards around him. He was taller than most people, so he was, of course, getting lots of attention, and his commanding presence also contributed to the fact that young women were glancing at him and giggling nonstop.
There was also a school trip maybe happening, so the high school girls were following Lukas and Yaho around, Lukas didn’t mind.
