Chapter 333 - 312 Turning 2

Chapter 333: Chapter 312 Turning 2

On the highway from Ping City to Dongming City, a silver-white Mercedes sped at an extremely high speed, overtaking one vehicle after another. The Mercedes paid no heed to the so-called speed limits on the highway and even on several occasions came perilously close to scraping past other vehicles, narrowly avoiding accidents.

"Big sis, what’s the mission this time? The president’s call? So boring, every time it’s just some weaklings, no challenge at all," a young girl chewing bubblegum complained from the passenger seat, clearly unimpressed.

"The enemy directly took the city government hostage, and they chose our turf again. Moreover, they didn’t bother with the regular police, obviously waiting for us to show up. Big sis, this time they came prepared," a black-haired man calmly stated from the back seat.

"What’s there to fear? We can finish them off quickly and still make it back for lunch. We are the strongest combo in the entire National Security of Southwest Province!" a redhead youngster with the look of a hooligan blurted out loudly.

"Strongest combo? How many combos have you even seen? Bragging without assessing the situation—what if other teams heard and laughed themselves to death?" the little girl in the front seat scorned.

"As long as big sis is here, any enemy is trash! Just a few slashes and it’s all over, right, big sis?" the redhead hooligan said with a grin.

Xu Ruoruo, expressionless, gently put down the phone she had just hung up and focused on driving, as if she hadn’t heard his question.

"Big sis?" the redhead hooligan asked, puzzled.

"You’re my third team. Don’t get killed," Xu Ruoruo said softly.

"Of course!" The three of them laughed.

"Xu Ruoruo has gone to Dongming City, a territory we’ve recently taken over. The original gang leader has completely surrendered to us. But now someone else is challenging us," Lu Jun explained over the phone.

"Is that so? How’s the situation?" Lin Fei stood by the window of the Sword Room, phone in hand, and spoke softly.

Yuan Yicheng and another person in golden clothes were beside him, one sitting and the other standing, one practicing swordsmanship, the other doing her nails. They seemed very leisurely.

Lu Jun continued to report over the phone.

"They should have arrived by now."

"Is that so."

Lin Fei responded indifferently and hung up the phone.

Dongming City Government Building

Outside the perimeter.

A silver-white Mercedes sped to the yellow caution tape. The excessive speed caused a murmuring of astonishment among the bystanders, who then quickly stepped aside.

The Mercedes performed a beautiful drift, braking to a stop just in front of the caution line.

Click!

The car door opened. A beautiful woman wearing a tight T-shirt and skinny jeans stepped out, her face cold. In her right hand, she held a Black Longsword. The Sword Sheath was simple and slender, devoid of any sheen, and the handle had no ribbons—just an ominous black.

"Filming a movie or what with that sword?"

"A sword against a handgun? Has this woman lost her mind?"

"Definitely filming a movie."

"So cool..."

The onlookers immediately burst into noisy chatter, with some even taking out their phones to record and take photos.

"Ruoruo sis, should we deal with this?" the little girl blowing bubblegum stepped out of the car.

"You go smash their phones and alter their memories. The rest of you, rush in, and wrap this up in ten minutes—we still have another place to hit," Xu Ruoruo ordered coldly.

"Alright." The redhead boy pulled out a golden pistol from his black holster at his waist. "My baby’s going to taste blood again."

The black-haired man took a black case out of the car, entered the correct code to open it, revealing a neatly arranged black belt filled with numerous small throwing knives. Each knife was only as long as a finger. The black-haired man took it and strapped it around his waist.

"Let’s go," he said, patting the redhead boy on the shoulder.

"Ok!"

The two men, one after the other, walked over to the waiting police officers, where a slightly overweight middle-aged man stood wiping his sweat, looking in their direction.

The little girl chewing the bubblegum walked up to the bystanders.

"Hehe... folks, want to know what the truth is? Let me tell you," she said with a mischievous and cute smile on her face.

Xu Ruoruo glanced at the little girl, then slightly closed her eyes and leaned against the Mercedes.

The redhead and the black-haired man had already successfully negotiated with the police and quickly began jogging into the government building.

"Judging from past experiences, it should take less than five minutes to resolve the issue. Although Redhead talks a big game, he is actually quite reliable," the little girl mused as she chewed her bubblegum, which had lost its flavor, and reached for a new one to pop into her mouth.

"Are you done?"

"Yeah, just a little group hypnosis and it’s all set, they didn’t really see anything substantial anyway."

From inside the distant building, gunfire and the wild shouts of the redhead began to echo faintly. The sounds moved rapidly, quickly advancing from the ground floor to the middle.

Boom! A loud explosion followed.

All sounds went silent.

Xu Ruoruo suddenly opened her eyes.

"They are in trouble," she said, striding toward the building. The little girl hurriedly followed behind.

***************

Inside the building

The faint sound of submachine gun bullets hitting the stone coffee table where the two were hiding set off a cacophony of clinking and clanking noises.

"Damn it, they’ve even got submachine guns and grenades. Who the hell are the cops here?" Red Hair cursed, clutching a gunshot wound on his left arm as blood slowly seeped out.

"Quit complaining. We need to figure out what to do now," the black-haired man said, his face also sporting a streak of blood, as he calmly took out three more throwing knives from his belt.

"What to do? The only thing we can do is call for backup. What else?" Red Hair said, exasperated.

In the hall opposite, a group of armed individuals dressed in black clothes were aiming various firearms and shooting across. All of the weapons were fitted with silencers.

"Don’t waste any more time. Just finish them off," said a figure standing at the back indifferently. "This will be our first stronghold for our rise! Hua Nation is in chaos right now. If we can claim a territory, we can develop our strength and influence. This is our best opportunity!"

"We’ve been lurking for so long, it’s finally time to emerge from the shadows."

"As long as we deal with the special personnel in these small places, other policemen and the like can easily be dealt with by altering their memories. We’ve already taken control of the people in the TV stations—minimizing our exposure will be easy," said a black-clad woman with a smile, as she took a large briefcase from her subordinate. Slowly the briefcase was opened and its components were assembled piece by piece. It turned out to be a shoulder-fired rocket launcher.

Fitting in the rocket, the woman aimed at the marble coffee table across with a vicious smirk.

"Die."

A sharp whistling noise pierced the air, followed by a thunderous BOOM! The entire building shook violently.

Xu Ruoruo’s face changed on the first floor, as she slightly bent her body and her speed sharply increased, leaving the girl behind her completely thrown to the rear.

Swish! A silver flash, and the second-floor door was instantly cleaved in half, scattering on the floor.

Xu Ruoruo walked in slowly. Inside, the smoke was curling, blurring the vision, and the situation was unclear.

However, two almost entirely devastated bodies caught her eye.

"The last two," emerged a group of black-clad figures from the smoky haze. More than ten individuals wearing black clothes and masks, all shouldering identical rocket launchers. At the back of the crowd stood a woman, her eyes glowing faintly with a pale green fluorescence.

"It’s up to you now, Ella," whispered an elderly man in black with glasses from behind a door. He then walked through the door, pulling it closed behind him.

"No problem," the woman snickered. "White Demon Sword Xu Ruoruo, you’re as good as dead! Kill her!"

In an instant, more than ten rockets filled the sky, dominating the view.

Xu Ruoruo’s pupils shrank slightly as her right hand swiftly moved to the Black Sword at her waist.

Swish! The Longsword was unsheathed, and a silver trace flashed before her, promptly a translucent light membrane emerged from the slash, forming a half-dome that completely shielded Xu Ruoruo.

"DIE!!" the woman shouted.

Countless rockets, trailing long tails of smoke, suddenly turned in the air, converging on Xu Ruoruo’s location.

BOOM!! A multitude of flames burst forth.

***********

"Hmm?"

Lin Fei suddenly looked up towards Dongming City.

"What’s wrong, My Lord?" The person in golden clothes halted in his step.

"Xu Ruoruo’s line is about to break," Lin Fei said, his eyes flashing a hint of gold.

"Brother, answer the phone, brother, answer the phone...." Shuang’er’s cellphone ringtone suddenly began to ring.

Lin Fei took out the phone and answered the call.

"Lin Fei, you’d best stay away from Dongming City—it’s dangerous there. The Yekala Sect has taken over the place," said Zhang Minghui’s voice from the other end of the phone.

"The Yekala Sect?"

"Yes, also known as the Fire God Cult, one of the Inner World’s top ten evil cults. Try to avoid getting involved in the incident at Dongming City."

"Thanks, I got it," Lin Fei said with a smile as he hung up the call.

"I know about the Fire God Cult," Yuan Yicheng spoke softly. "It’s among the most notorious garbage cults of the Inner World, combining science, electronics, and a devotion to firearms. It’s better described as an ambitious group than a cult."

"How strong are they?"

"Not bad. They modify their bodies with firearms and biochemical technology, which should prove to be a great help in Ye Yuhua’s Blood Sacrifice."

Lin Fei lowered his eyelids.

"Go. Anyone who stands in our way is to be killed."

Apart from a few major powers, he feared nothing.

"As you wish." Yuan Yicheng began to smile.

Lin Fei remained silent.

A golden, diamond-shaped Crystal slowly rose to the side of his face, casting a deep shadow.

For a moment, he seemed to see his former shy and introverted self.

"My own... path?" He stretched out his hand, and countless True Forces and the Blue Flame quickly merged, weaving into a glittering blue strand in his palm. A miniature Earth formed, slowly rotating with a pale blue halo reflecting in Lin Fei’s eyes. (To be continued.
