True Solution of the Sword Dao
Chapter 254 - 242 Doubts 2

Chapter 254: Chapter 242 Doubts 2

The morning classes were Advanced Mathematics and Linear Algebra, content that Lin Fei had already self-studied in advance. As a result, during class, he merely sat at his desk, putting on an act while actually flipping through the last parts of fluid dynamics. His two roommates beside him, Du Xiaosheng and Shi Ran, were quite different; the former listened intently to the lecture, while the latter lay on the desk, dozing off.

This was the routine for several consecutive classes. Du Xiaosheng was always highly concentrated, and Shi Ran consistently napped on the desk, changing positions constantly. Lin Fei, on the other hand, sat alone, flipping through books borrowed from the library, as if no one else was there. The three were distinctly different. When the teacher approached, Du Xiaosheng immediately nudged the two others, and everyone straightened up and switched books with precision.

Now that Lin Fei’s True Force cultivation was steadily improving, he could occasionally maintain his presence in reality while his true self entered the Trial Space to take on swordsmanship challenges. There was basically no delay. Thus, attending classes or not made little difference to him. He decided to attend class every day as scheduled.

After four classes, the final bell for school rang at last.

The Linear Algebra teacher immediately stopped explaining a problem, picked up his teaching materials, and left the classroom without missing a beat.

"University teachers are really different from high school teachers," Du Xiaosheng remarked with feeling. "In high school, the teachers worried that you wouldn’t understand and would repeat explanations over and over. Now, it’s like they fear you’ll waste their time; class ends and they just leave. It makes you realize how lucky you were before." He closed his textbook in resignation. "It’s a pity I still didn’t understand one of the problems that I didn’t grasp when I previewed it yesterday. Today, I still don’t get it."

Shi Ran straightened up with a refreshed look on his face.

"Which problem? Let me solve it for you!"

"Forget it," Du Xiaosheng replied with a curl of his lip. "How could you find the time to study when you’re always oversleeping?"

"There are gaps between people, you know?" Shi Ran retorted with a smile, unoffended.

"You definitely have a gap with me," Du Xiaosheng said with a smile.

"By the way, do you guys know where the nearby computer city is?" Lin Fei suddenly interjected.

"It’s just across our campus. Why? Planning to build a computer?" Shi Ran immediately showed interest.

"I’m planning to put one together," Lin Fei nodded.

"Have you joined any clubs or societies?" Shi Ran asked.

"No. Joining those is meaningless," Lin Fei replied as he put the book he had on the table into his bag. "They are just hobbies. No point wasting time on them."

"Really? I was thinking of getting you to join our Anime Cosplay Club," Shi Ran said regretfully.

"Forget about it," Du Xiaosheng interjected. "Everyone in there is weird; no one can stand it."

The group grabbed their book bags and left the classroom. Once out of the teaching building, Lin Fei split from the others and headed to the library.

Around noon, there were hardly any people in the library. The staff wouldn’t be on duty until past two in the afternoon. At this time, the reading rooms were mostly closed. However, the environment was very quiet, with some independent small classrooms that could be used as study rooms for students. Just after the start of the school year, Lin Fei had already found a small classroom on the first floor inside the library that could serve as a dedicated study room.

Usually, the room wasn’t locked, and unlike classroom buildings, it wasn’t crowded with students early on. It was very secluded. Now, with his True Force steadily growing, Lin Fei didn’t need to accumulate cultivation. What he needed to do was to quietly hide in the shadows, continually strengthening himself until he reached his goal. Although his combat power had hit a bottleneck and wasn’t improving for the time being, he suspected this was only temporary.

Entering the study room, he casually shut the door behind him. The room was empty. Over forty seats were neatly squeezed inside, with no podium, just a blackboard that had a message written on it: There is a meeting at 7:30 p.m.

Lin Fei took a seat in the back. The surroundings were utterly silent; he was alone.

"The Qi Cultivation section has entered the Second Layer, Fourth Diagram, and still, there’s no emergence of a special ability like there was initially in the First Layer. Logically, since the First Layer had the Divine Beast, which granted the extremely overpowered Blue Flame ability, the Second Layer should correspondingly have a similar special ability." Lin Fei was puzzled by this.

Concentrating his mind, another light sound came from within his body as a faint brown halo emerged on the surface, flashing away in an instant.

"Broke through to the Fifth Diagram," he exhaled slowly. "With an abundance of True Force, breaking through the Qi Cultivation section becomes exceptionally simple. Looking ahead, even reaching the Sixth and Seventh Diagrams would be relatively easy. Unlike the First Layer, why aren’t there any special Divine Beast abilities now? It seems that by the time I reach the Seventh Diagram, it’s uncertain if a Sword Art similar to the Tracing Shadow Sword Art will emerge."

The Basic Sword Technique within the Sword Canon couldn’t be elevated to the highest level. Even if one learned directly from a defeated opponent in reality, reaching the highest realm would be difficult due to cultural limitations. With this in mind, Lin Fei was facing the dilemma of not seeing a pathway for future development in swordsmanship.

"Waiting to break through the Second Layer might provide a turning point, perhaps there will be new variations. Otherwise, I’ll just have to try to combine and create my own Sword Techniques." While he said this, he was only a newcomer who had practiced swordsmanship for less than a few years. Even if he were a highly talented genius, it would be impossible for someone who was clueless just a couple of years ago to become a top expert capable of creating his own Sword Art in such a short time. His strength might reach that point, but the experience and insight into sword techniques were things he couldn’t possibly achieve yet.

"According to the cooldown time of the Visualization diagrams, it will take about another week to completely finish the Second Layer’s cultivation. With plenty of True Force, the breakthrough will not take much time. But such breakthroughs don’t significantly help my overall strength. Given the enhancement of my physical attributes, if it’s just the improvement from the Visualization diagrams, even advancing to the final diagram will only increase my physical strength by about twice," Lin Fei calculated in his mind, with a clear understanding of what to expect next.

"The Divine Beast granted the mysterious effects of weapon imprint reading, acceleration, among others, and was said to have infinite strength. Both are Divine Beasts with completely different attributes. The appearance of seemed to be natural, without any signs. How, then, should this be activated?"

"If there were no Sword Canon, what else could activate it...?" If there were no Sword Canon?

Lin Fei was suddenly startled. He felt a strong sense of crisis.

"The Qi Cultivation Chapter, various sword techniques, Blue Flame, the resurrected powerhouses, and even seeds of True Force. Everything seems to come from the Sword Canon. What if one day the Sword Canon disappeared?"

Without a doubt, since the day of his rebirth, the Sword Dao True Solution had been Lin Fei’s greatest trump card and pillar. He had never considered what depths he might fall to if the Sword Canon were no longer there.

Basic Sword Technique, Qi Cultivation Chapter, Yan Shi’s experiences with swordsmanship, everything relied on the Sword Canon. It seemed he owned nothing that truly belonged to himself.

"If one day I lose the Sword Canon..." Lin Fei’s eyes suddenly narrowed, and strands of blue light flickered erratically.

"Hahahaha....." A sharp laughter suddenly rose by his ear, just like the one he had heard that night.

Lin Fei felt an immense boiling of True Force within his body. A strange sense of excitement slowly permeated the depths of his heart.

He seemed to hear endless human wails crazily resounding in his ears.

"Not this again!" He tried his best to maintain his sanity, but the madness he once felt during his first kill was barely containable. An extreme thirst for blood arose from nowhere, tightly entwining around his reasoning.

Hiss!

Lin Fei suddenly vanished from the classroom, directly appearing in the Sword Canon Space.

But as soon as he entered the Sword Canon Space, Lin Fei instantly felt an excruciating ripping pain assaulting his body. He staggered, using the Black Demon Sword for support so as not to fall to the ground, as waves of darkness passed before his eyes.

Hum!

The Blue Divine Beast totem slowly materialized behind him, the circular totem rotating continuously, emitting roars of anger as if expelling something.

At the same time, the entire space began to quiver slightly.

Hiss...

Yuan Yicheng’s figure suddenly appeared, followed by Jin Yi and Ye Yuhua, who also consecutively emerged in the space. All three wore extremely grave expressions.

"It’s the Lord’s power that’s contending with this space!" Yuan Yicheng said solemnly.

Lin Fei, leaning on the Black Demon Sword, faced waves of intense pain, but having dealt with Yan Shi’s interference before, he initially struggled to adapt but then gradually regained some ability to move.

"The Sword Canon does not allow the existence of anything beyond its control." He knew this was the struggle between pseudo True Force and the Sword Canon.

Because he had the Sword Canon, he cultivated True Force and could sense the existence of pseudo True Force, which should be unique in this world. But strangely, pseudo True Force seemed to be incompatible with the Sword Canon Space.

This had happened once before at the hotel where Shuang’er stayed, but it was nowhere near as intense as it was now.

He felt that pseudo True Force also hid a massive secret, one that seemed powerful enough to confront the Sword Canon.

"Perhaps this is a way, a method to reduce reliance on the Sword Canon," Lin Fei thought swiftly, the pain gradually subsiding.

True Force swept through his body in an instant, dispelling all sweat, along with some stains and dust from his clothes.

Lin Fei stood quietly in the middle of the lawn, taking a long time to readjust his state.

"This was an accident, nothing serious, you all may leave," he said softly to Jin Yi and the others.

"Yes, my lord," Yuan Yicheng responded respectfully, instantly dissipating into numerous light spots.

Jin Yi and Ye Yuhua bowed slightly and likewise vanished from the space.

The surroundings were once again left with only Lin Fei.

"Why have all the previous Sword Masters disappeared? Clearly, once a Sword Master’s cultivation reaches a certain level, their lifespan can be terrifyingly extended. Why did this Sword Canon enter my mind?" Lin Fei pondered quietly. "Or is it possible that the Royal Court was destroyed for some reason, leaving behind the Sword Canon as an inheritance? But even that doesn’t make sense. With the powerful capabilities of the Sword Canon, establishing a Royal Court should be extremely simple. Then why have none of the predecessors succeeded? Are those Sword Masters still alive, or are they all dead?" One question after another abruptly surfaced in Lin Fei’s mind. (To be continued.
