Chapter 253: Chapter 241 Doubt 1

"Dudu, dudu..." The harsh alarm sound suddenly awoke the entire dorm room from its quietness.

Lin Fei opened his eyes; it was not yet fully bright outside. The room was dimly lit as well. Lying on his back in bed, he could see the white ceiling right before him. He threw off the covers and sat up.

The other people in the dorm started rustling about, yawning as they dressed. Shi Ran pressed the phone alarm and mumbled something unintelligibly as he turned over to continue sleeping.

"Shi Ran was up playing computer games until so late last night, no wonder he can’t get up," Du Xiaosheng muttered, his hand over his mouth.

Ouyang Dong, silent as ever, quickly dressed and went to the balcony to wash up. Since he had apologized to Lin Fei over a meal with his sister, he had been like this. It hadn’t been long since the semester started, but apart from attending classes and sleeping, he was barely seen and didn’t talk to the other dorm mates.

The other three got out of bed, Lin Fei put on his shirt, then shook his hair.

"Lin Fei, your hair grows so fast," Du Xiaosheng moved closer and said, "Better get it cut soon; the school doesn’t allow long hair."

"Cut what? Last time I saw a guy from the art department; his hair was almost as long as Cheng Nianwei’s," Shi Ran yawned, covering his mouth. "There’s no such rule at school."

"No? Then never mind. Hurry up, it’s almost seven," urged Du Xiaosheng. "We need to sign in for the morning reading class."

"What’s there to worry about? There’s still time," Shi Ran said slowly as he began to put on his pants.

By that time, Ouyang Dong had finished washing up too and, carrying his backpack, he opened the door and left. His footsteps gradually faded away.

At the sink, Shi Ran picked up a cup to rinse his mouth. "Did you guys know Ouyang is transferring departments?"

"Transferring departments? No way," Du Xiaosheng was taken aback, squeezing next to Shi Ran with his basin in hand. "Who did you hear that from?"

Lin Fei walked from the shadowy room to the balcony, grabbing the window. Through the iron bars outside, he could see groups of students making their way to the teaching building with books or sling bags. From afar, the morning campus broadcast could faintly be heard. Fresh, slightly cool air rushed into the dorm room all at once.

"A girl in his sister Ouyang Ying’s dorm said it. Don’t worry about who; it’s very likely to be true," Shi Ran said as he grabbed his toothbrush and squeezed some toothpaste on it. He and Du Xiaosheng both stood in front of the sink to briskly brush their teeth and wash their faces.

A square mirror above the sink perfectly reflected their images, as well as Lin Fei’s at the window behind them.

Shi Ran glanced at Lin Fei in the mirror.

Fair, flawless skin, handsome and refined features that subtly expressed a sense of indifference and composure, a few strands of hair casually falling over his temples, slightly exuding laziness.

Suddenly, Shi Ran had an impulse. Without caring that he was still holding his toothbrush in his mouth, he fished out a black Samsung phone from his pocket.

"Lin Fei!" he suddenly turned and called out.

"What?" Lin Fei, standing by the window, turned his head, puzzled.

Click!

A quiet snap came from Shi Ran’s hand.

He triumphantly shook his phone, his speech somewhat unclear.

"Got the shot!"

Next to him, Du Xiaosheng leaned in to look at the phone’s screen.

In the middle of the screen, the face of a pretty young man with slightly long hair looked puzzled toward them, his skin like milk.

"Wow! This is definitely a hit for the transgender profile!" exclaimed Du Xiaosheng, his face filled with amazement. "If you posted this photo and someone believed you were male, that would be crazy!"

"Really?" Lin Fei gave a slight smile.

"Don’t believe it? Take a look yourself!" Shi Ran pushed the phone right up to Lin Fei’s eyes.

"Better hurry up and wash up, or we’ll miss the sign-in," Lin Fei pushed the phone away.

"What transgender profile? This is perfect bait for fishing for pretty girls! Just tell them my roommate looks this beautiful, and watch the girls swarm over with curiosity," Shi Ran said dreamily.

But just then, urgent knocking interrupted him.

"Du Xiaosheng, are you coming for the sign-in?" It was Fan Weidong from next door. He and Du Xiaosheng jelled well and often hung out together, unlike with his own dorm mates.

"Right away!" Du Xiaosheng grabbed a towel to wipe his face and rushed to open the door.

Fan Weidong was standing at the door with his bag waiting. Other males from different rooms hurried past him.

"Hurry up."

The four swiftly signed in at the morning reading classroom, then slipped out the back door to buy breakfast. Each got a milk and a meat bun. After swiftly eating, they leisurely walked through the tree-lined avenue between the teaching buildings directly to the classroom for their first academic class.

In the large classroom that could seat two hundred people, it wasn’t just their theoretical physics class; other classes needing the same course filled the room. The entire classroom was just about full.

After finding their class’s section, they took seats in the second-to-last row.

The large classroom was still noisy, and although many had arrived, plenty of seats were still empty—it was clearly a bit early for class.

As soon as they sat down and pulled out their calculus books for the first period, some girls sat down in the last row behind them, and a faint scent of perfume discreetly wafted over. It was uncertain which girl it came from.

"Hey!"

Lin Fei had just taken out his textbooks when he felt someone tap on his shoulder from behind. It was a somewhat familiar female voice. He turned around. Cheng Nianwei was looking at him with a smile on her face.

"Can I ask you something?" Cheng Nianwei’s big eyes earnestly met Lin Fei’s as if they could speak.

"Class President, you can’t just focus on our Feifei alone, give us some hope too, okay?" Du Xiaosheng came over with a sly grin on his face.

"Get lost," Cheng Nianwei rolled her eyes at him, "I’m trying to talk seriously here, okay?"

"What is it?" Lin Fei asked calmly.

"Ouyang Dong is transferring departments, did you know?" Cheng Nianwei whispered. "It’s been the hot topic in class."

"What? You don’t think it was me who forced him, do you? Maybe there’s something going on with his family?" Lin Fei said lightly.

"I just wanted to ask you, the person involved, what exactly happened?" Cheng Nianwei asked curiously.

"It’s nothing, just a small conflict that got blown out of proportion."

"Really? It shouldn’t be such a big deal then?" Cheng Nianwei obviously didn’t believe it.

Seeing her disbelief, and before Lin Fei could speak, several boys nearby started chipping in with their versions of the story.

Seeing someone else had taken over, Lin Fei simply turned away.

"This body just needs to continue living normally. As for the rest, that’s for the other side to handle." Thinking this, Lin Fei flipped open the textbook on his desk. No one noticed his eyes suddenly flicker with a pale golden sheen.

Inside the Trial Space

Lin Fei sat cross-legged in the middle of the grass, slowly opening his eyes. The breeze ruffled the blades of grass, creating ripples like those on water.

"The Divine Instrument True Lies component allows the creation of a divine instrument avatar. However, one can at most manage to multitask. Moreover, this state can’t last long. After all, being distracted can actually slow down the cultivation speed, and an avatar can only exist for about ten days." Feeling the reality where he was focused in a classroom. The teacher’s voice from the podium directly transmitted here. The avatar and the main body shared the same mind in different bodies, naturally sharing all information.

"Although it’s a bit slow, it’s a pretty good method since it allows for uninterrupted attention to several aspects at once. Also, while at school, I can cultivate here, ready to handle any urgent situation at any moment."

He let out a gentle breath.

"But ten days is enough."

His figure slowly faded from the space, turning into countless white dots.

At the same time, in reality, Lin Fei’s entire body slightly shook, as if his entire body had become a bit more solid.

None of the people around noticed this detail, except for Cheng Nianwei who seemed to have seen something.

"What’s wrong, Vivi?" A classmate beside her asked, puzzled.

"Nothing, I guess it was just my eyes playing tricks on me." Cheng Nianwei shook her head and refocused on the lecture and her notes.

In Ping City

Lin You sat boredly at her desk. The classroom was noisy, with several boys and girls messing around, and some nerds who didn’t forget to study even after class continued to bury themselves in their work.

She absently tossed her pen up and down.

"So boring..."

The bell for class rang soon after.

"Lin You, it’s an English class coming up, and it seems like a new teacher is coming. You know?" a girl from the seat behind whispered.

"A new teacher?" Lin You shook her head, "I don’t know, why, are you interested?"

"Don’t you find it refreshing?" the girl behind her countered.

"Not at all." Lin You sighed inwardly: "No matter who the teacher is, I just wish I could never hear the school bell ring."

The classroom door opened, and the homeroom teacher, a middle-aged man, came in with a young woman.

As the bell rang, the classroom gradually quieted down.

"Our previous English teacher, Mr. Zhao, due to a work transfer, won’t be working here anymore. From today onward, this is your new teacher." After the homeroom teacher finished introducing on the podium, he immediately stepped aside.

The young woman he brought didn’t hesitate and walked straight up.

"Hello everyone, I’m Ding Ning, your new English teacher starting today at this school." The woman was pretty, tall, and dressed in a black skirt with white blouse, which definitely caught the eyes of many male students in the class, inevitably raising the level of male hormones.

"In the next three years, I’ll do my best to ensure the quality of your classes. Of course, I’ll need your cooperation. Thank you."

Suddenly, all the boys in the classroom started clapping enthusiastically. (To be continued. If you like this work, feel free to visit qidian.com to vote for it with recommendation tickets and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
