Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Pocket Ring

At this moment, they had returned to the ship.

The ordinary treasures were still stored in the endless pocket.

However, the chest Andre held was placed in the center of the group.

Among all the treasures, anything that could fit inside such a chest was undoubtedly the most precious.

Meeting everyone’s expectant gazes, Andre slowly opened the chest.

The first thing revealed were the protective spells inscribed on its interior.

These spells were always used to preserve Magic Items, preventing them from being degraded by external influences as time passed, which could cause a loss of Magic Power or even the complete loss of their magical properties.

Alka hadn’t understood this before. But after learning from Bobby and Lucilia, he had gained a sufficient understanding of the Extraordinary world.

For instance, the treasure he had first obtained from Jack was protected similarly. The flowing metal that enveloped the inheritance was an even higher form of protection. It was still kept in his cabin.

As the chest opened, its contents were revealed.

Altogether, there were only four Magic Items and a small booklet.

In Alka’s eyes, only one of the Magic Items had a visible, faint glowing outline. This indicated it was the most important, or perhaps the most valuable, item in the treasure.

Andre first bypassed the Magic Items and reached for the small booklet. After a quick flip through, he confirmed its contents.

"It records some interesting spells. I’ll add it to the library. If anyone is interested, you can take a look," Andre said, handing the booklet to Old Bobby.

"The remaining four Magic Items will be chosen in turn by four people, according to their contributions." As he said this, he looked up at Alka. "This time, without a doubt, your contribution was the greatest. You choose first."

Alka nodded. Without hesitation, he reached out and took the Magic Item with the faint glowing outline.

It was an intricately hollowed-out ring, intertwined like a spiral, possessing great artistic beauty. It felt slightly cool to the touch.

After a brief glance, Alka handed it to Bobby beside him, primarily for identification.

"A Pocket Ring. This is a Pocket Ring. As for its specific capacity, I don’t know. You’ll have to check that yourself later," Bobby said after his assessment.

Hearing the evaluation, Alka nodded and slipped the ring onto the little finger of his right hand. Now, both his little fingers each wore a ring.

"Next is me, then Jason, then Bobby," Andre announced the order.

Hearing Andre’s ranking, Bobby waved his hand. "I’ll pass. It should go to Chadite."

Andre nodded at Bobby’s words, not thinking much of it. After all, Old Bobby was an Engraver, and Magic Equipment wasn’t particularly rare for him. Old Bobby must have seen that there wasn’t anything of interest to him among these items.

Andre reached out and selected a bracelet.

Jason stepped forward and took a pocket watch from the chest, his expression unusually excited.

Chadite, naturally, chose the last remaining item: a short sword about forearm length.

After everyone had chosen, Andre continued, "The remaining ordinary treasures will be sold off, and then the proceeds distributed. Those of you who received Magic Items will have a corresponding portion of your monetary share allocated to the others."

No one objected to Andre’s distribution method; they all nodded in agreement.

However, just then, Andre took out a stone tablet from the pocket that held the treasure.

Seeing the tablet, everyone curiously gathered around. The script on it was not the common language used in the Blood Gold Alliance and its surrounding regions today, but rather an older script.

Fortunately, as members of the Treasure Hunting Team, they all recognized it; Alka had also learned it from Lucilia before.

What was written on the tablet concerned a fatal scandal involving the Aikbite Clan.

A smile appeared on Andre’s face as he read the information.

At this point, Jason also recalled something and spoke up, "Wait a minute, isn’t the Governor of Meister Island from the Aikbite Clan?"

Andre turned his head, smiled, and nodded.

"Strange, why does every Treasure Vault contain scandals about different people, even their own sons?" Jason frowned, saying with some confusion.

Alka then spoke up. "That’s why the Bite Sharks could cooperate with the Governor. Didn’t the Bite Sharks’ leader also open two Treasure Vaults before? He might have known the vaults contained such scandals and used them as leverage to cooperate and have us targeted with a bounty."

"What you said does make sense; that might indeed be the case," Andre mused.

Contributing their thoughts one by one, the group quickly pieced together the most likely scenario.

Andre’s smile turned somewhat wicked as he looked at the tablet in his hand. "It seems we’ll have to stay in this sea region a while longer. I don’t make a habit of letting my enemies live comfortably."

Hearing this, gloating smiles appeared on everyone’s faces. It seemed this Governor was in for a terrible time. They naturally felt a sense of schadenfreude, as this Governor had caused them considerable trouble recently.

"Alright, everyone, this is another fresh victory for us. Go back and rest," Andre announced. "Tomorrow, we’ll have a proper celebration."

After chatting for a while longer, everyone returned to their own cabins.

As soon as Alka returned to his cabin, Lucilia materialized.

"Yay! Treasure hunting is so interesting!" she exclaimed, sitting on the edge of the bed and waving her hands, her expression alight with excitement.

Although she couldn’t participate personally, she had observed the entire process while attached to Alka. This was something that previously only happened in storybooks; experiencing it firsthand was much more interesting than just reading those stories.

Alka smiled, walked to the table, and took out the map from his pocket, looking at the now-dimmed spot on it.

[Sad’s Twelve Treasures—Number 3] (Acquired)

[Treasure Harvest: Treasures × N, Pocket Ring.]

The harvest displayed in the Treasure Information probably only shows the portion he himself had obtained.

Looking at the information, Alka couldn’t help but twirl the ring on his right hand. The Pocket Ring was a type of storage ring, much like those often depicted in various stories.

Using it, however, would be a bit troublesome. It needed to be worn for some time, allowing his own Magic Power to permeate it and establish a link, before the space within could be freely accessed and used. So Alka could only wear it on his hand for now, continually trying to link it with his Magic Power. Even as excited as he was, he could only wait.
