Chapter 161: Chapter 161: Brother-in-law is the Ex 61_1
When the plane took off, Huang Jing had already fallen asleep, and so, she didn’t witness Xia Ke chatting enthusiastically with the two guys.
By the time she woke up again, it was, you could say, Xia Ke who had shaken her awake because it was mealtime.
Huang Jing yawned, came to her senses, and then slowly unbuckled her seatbelt, "Just order me something to eat at random, I’m going to the restroom."
When Huang Jing returned to her seat, a meal box had already been placed at her spot. Opening the box, well, she knew she shouldn’t have expected anything.
Although the food wasn’t tasty, how should I put it, she couldn’t just not eat. Otherwise, her stomach would growl, and she might wake up from hunger even if she managed to fall asleep.
While Huang Jing was eating, Xia Ke hesitated for a moment, "Xiao Jing, would you mind if we have two more travel companions?"
Two more travel companions? Without asking, she knew it had to be the two guys next to them. Huang Jing thought for a moment, "I don’t have a problem with that."
"Anyway, it’s all going to be split equally." Having two more men around isn’t a bad thing.
"And besides, they are from the same company." If they were not from the same company, Huang Jing wouldn’t have had the courage. Even if Europe’s security is good, it’s not absolutely safe.
Now that they are from the same company, and if they have promising futures, then of course they can travel together, but she also needed to inform a person she was on good terms with.
And this person was naturally Huang Lixin, even if he might truly despise her, he wouldn’t ignore her if he knew she was in trouble.
Xia Ke knew Huang Jing would agree, but she still had to ask, receiving an expected answer.
"Hi, I’m Shen Lan." The slim, weak-looking man with glasses took the initiative to introduce himself.
"Hello, I’m Fan Chen." Even through his clothes, one could sense a muscular man introducing himself.
"Nice to meet you, I’m Huang Jing." Although Xia Ke might have already introduced her, Huang Jing still introduced herself again.
Even though she was awake and eating, Huang Jing just wanted to rest, even if it meant taking a break from all the overtime.
Looking at the three people next to her still chatting spiritedly, Huang Jing could only think to herself that youth is truly great; she genuinely didn’t have the energy for that.
After hearing Fan Chen mention their travel plans, Xia Ke only had one thought—those guys’ plans were so much better and seemed more fun than hers.
Changing travel plans was something she needed to discuss with Huang Jing. She briefly mentioned Fan Chen’s itinerary, "What do you think?"
Huang Jing’s mind at that moment was honestly quite muddled, and she didn’t fully grasp what Xia Ke was saying.
The one thing she was sure of was that Xia Ke seemed really keen to go there. So, with that in mind, "If you think it’s good, then it’s fine by me."
"You planned everything, so if you want to change it, change it." Huang Jing yawned, stuffing the last bit of her meal into her mouth.
After swallowing everything, she chewed on some gum, "Anyway, I just plan to follow your lead."
After standing up and stretching a bit, Huang Jing went back to her seat, "I’m going to rest now."
Shen Lan looked at Huang Jing in surprise; they had seen her sleeping as soon as they boarded the plane. Most importantly, she hadn’t brought any earplugs or an eye mask, and yet she could still fall asleep.
And now, after being fully fed and watered, she was ready to sleep again, making Shen Lan, who had poor sleep quality, quite envious.
From what he knew, many in the IT field don’t sleep well unless they are really exhausted. But looking at her, it didn’t seem like she had been working overtime recently, as she didn’t appear overly fatigued.
Fan Chen was also quite envious, "Your friend is really amazing."
"I’m envious too," Xia Ke said, with a shared sense of dismay, as he looked at the other two and sighed softly, "It’s a good thing I’m not in the same group with her."
Otherwise, while she was still brewing sleepiness, this person would have already fallen asleep in seconds, how could it not be stimulating.
It’s said that IT people look older than they are, and there’s no helping it with all the overtime and late-night work, not to mention the mental strain, could it not show?
Especially the mental activity, keeping the brain always in an active state, the result is that to fall asleep, you first have to lower your brain’s activity, and then you can sleep.
After such an ordeal, it can be said that naptime would also be over, so it’s essentially just resting with closed eyes.
Although the three appear young, they all suffer from a degree of insomnia, and sometimes they resort to using some aids like sleeping pills to help them sleep.
There are many different sleeping pills on the market, with various ingredients, effects, and side effects, and the three of them seriously discussed which ones were better.
Huang Jing, who was soundly asleep at this moment, had no idea that her ability to fall asleep instantly led the other three to have a more in-depth discussion.
When Huang Jing awoke again, the airplane cabin was quiet, with only a few seats lit up, indicating that most passengers had already entered a state of sleep.
Huang Jing yawned, checked the time, and seeing that the plane was about to land, decided not to rest but got up to take care of some business, then turned on the light to read a book.
Upon hearing the news of the plane’s descent, Xia Ke slowly woke up, expecting to see Huang Jing still in deep sleep, but to his surprise, she had already woken up.
"You’re awake?" Xia Ke muttered groggily.
"Yeah, I just woke up. Seeing that we’re about to land, I decided not to rest any longer," Huang Jing yawned, "I’ll read for a bit, and then go for a walk to see if there’s anything to eat."
"Grab something to eat, and then continue resting," Huang Jing said softly.
By this time, Fan Chen and Shen Lan had also woken up and buckled their seat belts, waiting for the plane to land.
After the plane landed, some passengers deboarded, and of course, new passengers boarded. The four of them briefly discussed and, despite it being late at night and not much to see at the airport, they didn’t want to miss out on taking a brief look around.
The airport was not as bustling in the middle of the night as it was during the day, but there were still flights landing and taking off, and people coming and going.
The four purchased some food, "Really, airline meals are..." Xia Ke couldn’t help but complain, "I wonder what the food is like in first class."
"It should be okay, I guess," Fan Chen hesitated, then looked towards Shen Lan, "You’ve flown first class before."
At these words, including Huang Jing, the two turned to look at Shen Lan, who was quietly eating. Compared to the more outgoing Fan Chen, he really didn’t talk much.
"I’ve flown first class, but it was just to save time," Shen Lan swallowed the food in his mouth, "I was only focused on work, and then resting."
"As for the food, I didn’t pay attention." For him, food was merely a solution to hunger, and whether it tasted good or not, he really didn’t care.
Fan Chen knew his good friend’s temperament and didn’t see any issue with it.
As for Xia Ke and Huang Jing, of course, they had no problem either. They weren’t too familiar with Shen Lan, who was highly skilled in computing, and seemed to be recruited by the boss for a handsome sum.
It’s not really a problem for a talented person to have some quirks like this or that.
