Chapter 160: Chapter 160: Brother-in-law is the Ex 60_1
Huang Jing had not expected someone would actually come to the company to visit her, without asking the reception for some details about the visitor, let alone their name.
Being the one who dealt with backend matters, Huang Jing was not someone people usually visited, so at this point, the only person who could possibly be visiting her at the company aside from Ho Zhen, was truly no one else.
As for why Ho Zhen would come over, the reason was very simple, wasn’t it just because she wasn’t picking up his calls, someone felt wronged, and wanted to come explain things in person, right?
Unfortunately for him, at this moment, Huang Jing really did not need to hear his so-called explanations, explanations were not at all important, what mattered was the outcome.
The outcome was that someone had betrayed her, if it hadn’t been for the other person falling on hard times, if both boats hadn’t capsized, would he have come to apologize?
That was absolutely impossible, such an insincere apology was simply not needed.
She would soon be able to go on vacation, and she really didn’t want to delay her travel mood because of seeing someone.
Her mood had been really good lately, so good it was explosive, so an annoying person like that could just roll back wherever they came from.
Huang Jing quickly met up with Xia Ke after work and then got into her colleague’s car.
Although they didn’t know whether Ho Zhen had already left, they definitely couldn’t leave with the crowd, just in case Ho Zhen spotted them.
Even if he did spot them, there was no need to explain why they had lied, but they were really short on time, and couldn’t afford to waste it on people who were unimportant.
Xia Ke was quite surprised; she had gone down to take a look after she heard the news. Ho Zhen hadn’t seen her, but she had seen him immediately.
"Exes are supposed to leave quietly," Xia Ke rolled her eyes.
"He thinks he’s innocent, that he’s been screwed over by Huang Lei."
"He and I had many years of a relationship, we had even reached the stage of discussing marriage, and the breakup was very sudden. He thinks I should still harbor old feelings for him."
Xia Ke rolled her eyes speechlessly, "What a big face he has."
"Delusional," Huang Jing remarked sarcastically, "Let’s not talk about it anymore, we’re about to go on holiday, and don’t want to bring up unhappy things."
"Are we going straight to the airport?" Huang Jing knew that Xia Ke’s colleague was probably also taking a flight.
"We want to go to a place near the airport to grab some food, then we’ll go to the airport," Xia Ke’s colleague spoke up, "We can leave the car there."
Parking at the airport for several days would be really expensive, luckily, there was a nice parking spot near the airport that was much cheaper.
After the three of them had a meal, they took a cab to the airport, the cost of which was covered by Huang Jing and Xia Ke in return for the favor.
Once they arrived at the airport and got their tickets, the colleague said goodbye to Xia Ke, and that was when Xia Ke noticed they were flying to LA.
"She’s going to Machu Picchu," Xia Ke added. "I had no idea, otherwise we could have gone with her."
Xia Ke knew Huang Jing really wanted to go there but, unfortunately, by the time they found out, the tickets to Europe had already been booked, and canceling would mean spending even more money.
Going to South America alone? Although tourism in Machu Picchu is quite developed and security is decent, there would be many places to pass through along the way, and it seemed somewhat dangerous for a beautiful young woman traveling solo.
Xia Ke found their boarding gate, "She’s not alone, she has a travel companion."
"They’ve been to many places, they even went to Antarctica last time."
"They’re meeting in LA and then heading south together," Xia Ke briefly explained.
Upon hearing this, Huang Jing suddenly understood; it must be some outdoor travel group organizer, "Next time we’ll have a chance to go on a trip."
"There are so many places we want to go," Xia Ke also lamented, with many goals to accomplish but so little time and money.
"Step by step, we’ll achieve a small goal each holiday, and in a few years, we’ll achieve a big goal," Huang Jing was confident they would definitely reach their goals.
The two waited at the airport for several hours, and Huang Jing felt as though she had woken up several times before finally hearing the welcome announcement for boarding.
Even though the flight would have a layover, overall, they were in for a long haul on the plane, which was not ordinarily taxing.
The two had never considered buying first-class tickets because one ticket could exceed their entire travel budget.
They both hoped to spend their money on enjoying Europe more, to eat well and rest properly.
Huang Jing looked around at the people boarding, many of whom were already equipped with inflatable neck pillows, just waiting to rest as soon as they got on the plane.
After boarding, Huang Jing immediately stowed her carry-on luggage and buckled up, then sat back and closed her eyes to rest.
Rest was necessary; they would start their journey in the morning upon their arrival.
Xia Ke saw Huang Jing already resting in her seat with her eyes closed and felt truly envious, though she was much improved now and could nap in the office, she didn’t have quite the same ability to fall asleep instantly as Huang Jing did.
Just now in the waiting area, Huang Jing had actually managed to fall asleep. Don’t ask her how she knew; if you asked, it was because Huang Jing hadn’t responded when she called her just now, that’s how she knew she had fallen asleep.
This ability to fall asleep so quickly truly made Xia Ke envious, and with no other option, she too could read a book in the waiting room, occasionally observing the expressions of people around her.
Today was the last workday, and many people on the plane were taking advantage of the May 1st holiday to travel to Europe.
Seeing so many people waiting, Xia Ke knew not to expect more space or a little better rest.
After getting on the plane and inquiring with a flight attendant, once she knew it was a full flight, she could only pray silently, "Hope there’s no fat person next to me."
Huang Jing took a breath, "No worries, we’re flying domestic, so the likelihood of fat people is lower."
If they had booked a foreign airline, the chances of encountering fat people would be higher.
Alright, Xia Ke admitted that this was true, but as the plane doors were about to close, the seats next to them were still empty.
Xia Ke was delighted and couldn’t help swallowing, "Could it be that no one is coming?"
For such a guess, Huang Jing never dared to hope, "On an international flight, there couldn’t be a delay, right?"
"But if there is," Xia Ke suggested that one can always hope.
If that were the case, Huang Jing looked toward the cabin door, "What do you see?"
Alright, Huang Jing had already heard someone shouting, "Wait," knowing that, if there were no problems, it would be those two people.
It wasn’t long before they saw two figures; Xia Ke’s mouth hung open in surprise, "Not bad."
Not overweight, and quite handsome, Xia Ke stared for a while before nudging Huang Jing beside her, "Take a look, did I see wrong?"
"Why do I find him vaguely familiar?"
Huang Jing glanced up, "Same company."
"As for the name, I don’t remember." The reason she remembered him was because of the last company report about some project, which included their photos.
As soon as Huang Jing said that, Xia Ke understood, "Looks like I didn’t remember wrong."
