"The lake is just cold as ice, but it doesn’t freeze!" the snake said to him.

"Not now it isn’t, can’t you sense the heat rising?" Yanzhi asked bringing their mind to it.

They all felt it, just as Yanzhi said.

"Really the water is heating up" Chang exclaimed surprised along with the snake.

"Go into it now, and you’ll definitely turn out to be cooked inside" Yanzhi added, this time scaring it more.

Suddenly they heard the terrifying words of Xiao Ling. "Xiang gong is cooked snake delicious? I have heard people say grilled snake is very delicious" Xiao Ling blabbered unconsciously.

The two snake turned to him vigilant hearing his words, Chang crawled away from him at speed, the green snake shrank quickly and hid into Yanzhi’s sleeve. Yanzhi was dumbstruck by Xiao Ling’s words, before starting to laugh hard.

Xiao Ling turned red from embarrassment after his words settled in his mind.

"Ah! I didn’t mean i want to eat, i just asked because i was curious. Really i have never eaten snake meat before" Xiao Ling quickly explained himself, not wanting to be misunderstood.

Chang and the snake peeking from their hiding places, stared at him blankly. ’As if I’d believe you!’ was written on their horrified faces.

"Mistress, i know you wouldn’t want to eat human meat. As you can see i have already taken human form, so if you want to eat snake meat, eat her over there. She has yet to taken human form!" Chang sold the snake out without any regret, just saving himself from falling into Xiao Ling’s stomach.

The little snake was startled by Chang’s mean words, hissed to him and hid itself completely into Yanzhi’s sleeve, refusing to come out again.

"What are you saying? Who said i wanted to eat snake meat!" Xiao Ling refuted in anger. "Xiang gong...." he called out to YanZhi for help, looking pitiful.

Yanzhi looked at him with smiling eyes and a teasing smirk. "Little wife, actually you can’t eat me. The spiritual energy in my body is abundant and can’t be absorbed by you. If you eat even a little bit of my meat....you will explode and die on spot" Yanzhi said sounding sad and regretful to him.

"Xiang gong, you-you-you..." Xiao Ling was rendered speechless by him. Xiao Ling felt really wronged, he just said it and didn’t really mean it!

Yanzhi laughed so hard amused, he just couldn’t get more of his innocent little wife. He abruptly stopped laughing and his face turned serious, his focus back to the lake which slowly started swirling and the energy fluctuation was more.

"What’s wrong with it?" Xiao Ling also sensing it asked turning back to the lake with a serious face, Chang also approached but the little snake refused to come out of hiding.

"I didn’t think it was like that. The little snake said there were treasures down there. It seem it wasn’t one like I thought but instead two treasures. The reason I only sensed one was because the other was using the Source Essence to grow itself. So it had the energy of the Source Essence" Yanzhi explained and walked to the bank of the lake, he stared intently at the lake swirling and slowly rising up.

"So what is the second treasure?" Xiao Ling asked walking to stand by his side also staring at the rising lake.

"A spiritual lotus flower, and it’s about to blossom." Yanzhi answered in deep thoughts. "I never expected something like this to grow in a place with scarce qi from heaven and earth. No wonder i didn’t sense it, because it was blooming by absorbing the pure spiritual energy from the Source Essence. Which is why the energy of the Source Essence is weakened" Yanzhi added.

"What is this lotus flower?"

"Let’s just say another longevity elixir, but in the form of lotus seed. Once bloomed you have only a minute to collect the seeds. Because the seed is formed by absorbing all energy from the plant, so the flower looses it’s vitality and wilthers. And if the seeds are not collected by then and fall, the earth absorbs it." Yanzhi explained to Xiao Ling’s question.

"How many years does the lotus seeds prologue?" Xiao Ling asked getting interested in it.

"...a decade!" Yanzhi answered after much thought.

"Then this!..." Xiao Ling got excited.

Yanzhi nodded understanding his thoughts. "Whether it’s the Source Essence or the Lotus seeds Immortal Pei was after, or maybe just like us he believed to be one treasure here. I wouldn’t care much if it was to be just the Source Essence, i wouldn’t care. But i can’t let him get his hands on the spiritual lotus seeds. Even though this lotus seeds itself could prolongue at most, a thousand years because it didn’t grow in a place with good spiritual energy." Yanzhi said.

"Xiang gong is right, we can’t let him get his hands on such things!" Xaio Ling agreed to his words unconditionally.

"But little wife you don’t have to care for this, i am here and I can prologue your life more than the years the spiritual lotus seeds could. You should just forget about this"

Xiao Ling blushed inexplicably, "Xiang gong i wasn’t thinking to take it for myself!" he explained angrily which made Yanzhi chuckled.

"Little snake you heard us right, your treasures now, you don’t have the strength to take them. So i will be taking them, but rest assured i wouldn’t leave you empty handed."

The snake poked it’s head out after what Yanzhi said to it, it nodded it’s lizard-like head showing it’s willingness to what Yanzhi said before going back into Yanzhi’s sleeve.

After things were agreed between them, they waited for the blossom of the lotus flower. As time passed so did the level of the water rised and the lake swirled more. Ten minutes passed, twenty minutes passed, thirty minutes passed as they waited. The lake shook vigorously and started swelling up at speed after an hour.

"It’s time now, you all stay back! The energy is unstable now!" Yanzhi announced and warned. The rest did as instructed and stayed behind him, even the little snake crawled deeper into his sleeve.

The lake swelled up more and exploded, right as it exploded Yanzhi’s green eyes glowed and time stopped. He stretched his hand down the end of the lake where the lotus flower opened it’s buds showing about five to six crystal seeds. And besides it was a blue stone which he believed to be the source Essence. Yanzhi pulled them into his hand with energy force, then used the force to contain the unstable energy in the surrounding before letting time resume.

When Xiao Ling and the others came to their senses, everything was over and the lake was back to its original level and calmed, but they could no longer sense the energy from before.

"Xiang gong what happened?" Xiao Ling walked to him and asked excitedly.

"I got it" Yanzhi simply answered not telling how he got them, but only showing what was in his hand.

The three’s eyes sparkled seeing the crystal seeds and the blue stone.

"The lotus seeds and Source Essence?"

"En!" Yanzhi nodded and answered in his nasal to the youngster’s question.

"We’ve gotten it, let’s go back to the others" Yanzhi suggested.

They left the lake and went back on the same path they came from. When they returned, Yue and the rest were also done with their side. Dead bodies piled up like a hill for them and non alive.

"Master! Mistress!" Yue and Liu called excited walking to them. Liu held a little unconcious red fox by its nape showing it to YanZhi.

"You did well" Yanzhi praised them with a smile, the two smiled brightly.

"But how come their all dead?" Xiao Ling cut in pointing to the piled up corpses.

"Mistress the ones we caught killed themselves. They all bit something in their mouths and died by poisoning" Yue said disdained.

Yanzhi bend down and check on the bodies hearing what Yue said. "Dead guards?" he frowned.

"Well little wife, these corpses, you can have them." Yanzhi got over it soon and said nonchalantly.

Xiao Ling was happy that Yanzhi thought about him even in this situation. "Well i can only awaken five of them, the rest will be used as nourishment for the undead plain." Xiao Ling thought it over. This was the benefits he got from borrowing power from Yanzhin, but five was limit.

"Arise my soldiers!" he spoke his command tone as five bodies rose into F level undeads. He called out the undead plain which absorbed the rest of the bodies. Xiao Ling ordered the undeads into the undead plain before cancelling the summon of the undead plain.

"Come out" Yanzhi said coldly looking into the bushes. A family of 7 chipmunks came out trembling vigorously, looking affected by the breath of death that still lingered in the surrounding.

"Little wife, the little thing you took a liking to, seemed to have followed you with it’s family." Yanzhi teased.

They stared at the trembling small animals of 7, two adults looking to be the father and mother and five cubs.

"Do you want to go with me?" Xiao Ling asked. He wasn’t actually interested in the animals like YanZhi thought, but seeing them actually followed courageously, Xiao Ling thought it might not be bad to actually take them in.

The father chipmunk slowly nodded trembling as if he understood his words, it stopped and glanced at it’s family beside it and squeaked a few times to Xiao Ling. As if to ask what about it’s family.

"Okay, they can come too" Xiao Ling smiled and said. Father chipmunk and mother chipmunk squeaked their gratitude to him excited before approaching them on their little paws. Xiao Ling and Yanzhi finally left the mountain with new added family members.
