In the capital city somewhere, immortal Pei who was pacing forth and back anxiously with anxiety, waiting for news from the dead guards and disciples he sent to find the treasure. Suddenly felt a fluctuation from one of his puppets. He felt the control he had over the puppet shaken, as the puppet tried fighting for control from him.

Immortal Pei turned red from anger, he quickly with his all fought hard and took back the control. But his heart was filled with uneasiness. He felt as if things weren’t in his control and a force blocking his path to success. This was the first time he has ever felt this way.

"You there! You there! You there!"

He yelled like a madman, throwing away the elegance and calm look, leaving a distorted appearance.

"Master!" a figure appeared.

"Send more disciples and guards to have a look! I feel something is wrong, you know, just send everyone!" he ordered feeling jumpy and tensed.

The figure nodded and went to carry out his order. But still what immortal Pei was feeling on the inside, it made him frantic.

"Xiang gong how do you know so much about that fox?!" as they were walking leisurely in the mountains Xiao Ling suddenly asked. They followed the path of the trail they found, their pace was like they were out taking a walk and enjoying the scenery of the mountain side by side.

Xiao Ling was a tad curious about his relationship with the fox he mentioned of teaching the technique the fox girl used. He thought the only ones under Yanzhi’s wings were Yue and her siblings.

"They’re not under my protection" Yanzhi said cutting off his messy thoughts. With the look on Xiao Ling’s face, Yanzhi could tell what was going on in his mind without even having to probe.

"I saved an injured fox which was already enlightened. I thought it how to protect itself from being hunted and killed. And in order to show it’s gratitude it made a carving of itself worshipping me on its body and swore to the heavens to worship and so will it’s generations to come. That was something it decided because i never had that in mind, the loyalty of others back then was just plain words to me. After it was able to take it’s first transformation of an incomplete human form, i helped it concealed the ears and tail before I left..... that was what it was, nothing more than me taking a pity on an injured fox, whatever it did from there, whether it died or survived had nothing more to do with me." Yanzhi explained calmly, word for word for Xiao Ling to stop thinking about unnecessary things.

"Oh, i thought Xiang gong had other disciples whom i have yet to meet. Since this is how it is then i will stop thinking about it." Xiao Ling rubbed his nose embarrassedly. "But Xiang gong that fox..."

"It’s not an incomplete transformation. It’s a forced advancement to create the golden core." Yanzhi said beating him to it.

"Whether it was done by that fox or not i do not know, since her thoughts are too messy to read now.... and since she’s here with those shadow guards probably sent by immortal Pei, i believe it has something to do with him" he added.

"That was my thoughts too" Xiao Ling nodded.

"But how a fox from his clan end up with immortal Pei, i believe i have to find that fox to ask him personally" Yanzhi said coldly.

"Bang!" a loud bang brought them out of their discussions.

They looked ahead to where the sound came from to see splinters of trees flying about I’m the air to even their direction, along with dust. They tactically picked up their pace and hurried to the location.

They were met with two snakes engaged in a very fierce battle. One which they recognized as Chang’s snake form and the other, a green snake with short pair of horns on its head. In Xiao Ling’s eyes, it looks no different from an E level monster from his world.

The two snakes stopped at once their battle, sensing the presence of the two. Their scary selves turn docile with just a glance at Yanzhi no longer having it in their hearts to fight.

"Change back" Yanzhi spoke slowly and calm, as if speaking to a bunch of kids fighting over toys.

Chang changed back to the appearance of a half human half snake. The snake turned it’s head to Chang, it’s face looking aggrieved and wronged as it brought out it’s forked tongue and hissed violently at Chang. Chang frowned in displeasure by what it’s hissing meant.

Yanzhi chuckled, while Xiao Ling smiled amused by the snake. Seeing the two laughing, the snake turned to them and hissed at them sounding really wronged.

"I know you can’t change, so just reduce your size" Yanzhi said with a voice of coaxing a child.

The snake listened to his words and shrink into smaller size snake, it crawled approaching Yanzhi. But it was careful with it’s approach fearing it might annoy Yanzhi. But Yanzhi rather squatted and opened his palm for it. The snake crawled into it’s palm happily, it circled in Yanzhi’s palm before finding a comfortable way to settle.

"You’re hurt very bad" Yanzhi said, his tone low as he patted it’s head.

The snake turned sharply towards Chang’s direction and hissed violently again at Chang.

"He bullied you so much?" Yanzhi asked really amused by the little snake in his hand. The snake nodded it’s lizard-like head vigorously.

"Chang, how can you bullied such a little fellow when you’re ten times stronger than it!" Xiao Ling added looking at Chang with accusing eyes. The snake continued to nod vigorously, accusing Chang of bullying him more.

Chang had blacklines on his face and was angered by the snake. "What bully? Master! Mistress! She bullied me more! Look at the bite marks she left on me!" Chang said angrily and accusingly at the two who were backing the snake. "Mistress she’s a poisonous kunlun snake, all her bites where meant to kill me!" Chang added pitifully and aggrieved, with two drop of tears at the corner of his eyes.

Xiao Ling turned to inspect the docile Innocent looking snake in Yanzhi’s palm questioningly. The snake shrank and coiled sensing Xiao Ling looking at it intently.

"Indeed, the kunlun snakes are very poisonous and one bite means death, if one can’t counterattack the poison." Yanzhi said with a chuckle glancing down at the snake coiled up in his palm avoiding their gazes.

The snake slowly raised up it’s head, looking obedient like a child who’s ready to accept punishment after doing something bad. It hissed slowly saying ’he wanted to take away my treasures too!’

"Treasures?" both Yanzhi and Xiao Ling asked stunned.

"En! I found them long ago in the lake and i have been protecting it since then. The other animals always fight with me over it, but i have always won" it said with excitement, but it’s tone turned sad and aggressive all of the sudden. "But the humans started coming here one-day trying to steal my treasures away! I bite them to death, but they keep coming more. And then him!" It bared it’s fangs at Chang. Chang bared back which startled it and it quickly crawled into Yanzhi’s sleeve.

It slowly brought it’s head out after settling, it blink it’s eyes. "See! He is still bullying me!" it accused when it was the one who started it.

"You little guy talk so well!" Xiao Ling laughed at the interaction between them.

"Okay. Little one i will cure your wounds, in exchange take me to see your treasures" Yanzhi offered.

It stared at Yanzhi for a while in a complicated mood, after some minutes it nodded slowly to YanZhi’s words. Yanzhi smiled and fed it something into its mouth. The snake had it’s eyes opened widely stunned as it was being fed, soon it felt it’s injuries healed at speed and it no longer was feeling uncomfortable like it was just a moment ago. It jumped down from Yanzhi’s palm.

"Follow me, i will take you to see my treasure!" It hissed excitedly to them.

They followed behind the speed crawling snake. The scenery that met with them was very beautiful and breath taking, that is if it wasn’t them but other people. But to them it was just normal, just like the mountain path they took.

The snake multiplied in size and hissed violently at all sides, one could hear movements of animals running in all sides getting away from the surrounding.

"He’s back! He’s back!" voices transmited from the animal sounds reached their ears, Xiao Ling gazed upon a chipmunk which kept yelling ’he’s back!’ warningly as it run for it’s life on it’s small paws. This new sight made him giggled.

"Little wife likes those small things?" Yanzhi beside him asked curiously, his focus was on Xiao Ling so he saw clearly Xiao Ling’s reactions to the small animals, as if having a blast.

"That’s not it. It’s just this sight is new to me, i don’t hate it. They’re running to escape, but not from a violent flesh eating monster." Xiao Ling explained.

Both Yanzhi and Chang looked to him confused thinking, isn’t the kunlun snake a flesh eating monster? Their Xiao Ling’s thinking sometimes, was beyond them.

"My treasures are down there, I’ll get them for you to just take a look!" the snake exclaimed emphasizing, this made both Yanzhi and Xiao Ling funny being guarded against by the little snake like thieves. Although the snake felt closeness to them and wasn’t violent towards them, but because Yanzhi wasn’t using his authority as the snake god, the snake couldn’t tell his identify. It could only tell that Yanzhi was a friend who it was not supposed to attack, and Xiao Ling who always was given authority by Yanzhi also felt familiar.

Just as the snake was going to crawl into the lake, Yanzhi felt a fluctuation of energy from the lake as the lake shook. He quickly with a heavy force stopped the snake before it went into the lake, and pulled the snake to his side.

Snake: "....." ’who am i? Where am i?’

The snake who suddenly found himself beside Yanzhi looked around with confusion showing on its face.

"Enter that right now and you’ll turn into a cooked snake" Yanzhi calmly stated frightening the poor snake to almost death. Everyone peeked into the lake as Yanzhi said, but they didn’t understand how the snake will be cooked in the lake as Yanzhi said, even Xiao Ling didn’t understand nor did he sense what Yanzhi did.
